Mitra is truly a godsend! Our daughter has been attending Auntie Mitra's for almost a year now, and we couldn't be happier.
My family and I moved to Oakley last September, and we had a different daycare in Brentwood lined up that we had found months before. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good fit for our family, and after 4 days I knew we needed to look for other options.
I yelped daycares in the area, and lo and behold was Auntie Mitra's. With her stellar reviews, I wondered why I hadn't seen her daycare as an option when I originally was looking. I called Mitra and asked if she had availability, and I came in for a tour/meet and greet the next evening after the kiddos went home. I learned that I hadn't seen her page before because she was still working in the South Bay. She moved to Oakley around the same time we did.
Upon meeting Mitra, I knew within the first few minutes that her daycare was a much better fit. Mitra bent down to be at level with my then 10-month old, greeted her, and asked if they could be friends. She asked to hold her, and showed us around her home. She was so warm, and from previous parent reviews, I knew that Mitra had the experience to care for my daughter, and from that lovely first impression, I knew we were in the right hands.
We started daycare the next week, and everything has gone swimmingly since. Mitra is so easy to talk to and is very flexible and patient. We can tell she really cares about our daughter and she always lets us know what's going on regarding her eating, napping, and how she's getting along with the other kids. I love that her approach is very down to earth and human centric. She lets us know when our daughter is acting up, but never makes us feel like bad parents if she is. Her approach is very much "she's a baby, it's a phase, and we're working on it". Miraculously, she is able to easily get my daughter to take naps. This is something we had always struggled with before, so we asked Mitra how she does it and naps are better at home now, too!
Mitra's husband Amir often is around and helping with the kids, and he's also such a warm, amiable person. He always makes my daughter laugh. You can tell that there is lots of love in their home.
Pricing is very reasonable, her home is in a nice quiet community, and we absolutely love that she provides meals. Mitra includes the kids in baking homemade treats. She also makes her own play dough so it's non-toxic when my dishwater inevitably tries to eat it lol. The learning/playing/dining space is nice and open, and there's also and extensive outside play area with clean turf and a gated pool. She is equipped with swimwear of all sizes for the kids and on hot days, they play outside (shaded) with water tables and inflatable pools.
Our girl is so happy at Mitra's and I would refer anyone to her daycare (and I already have!) read more
