We looked at many preschools, but none of them felt quite right until we toured SJMS. The staff is extremely conscientious, engaged, and dedicated to the children. While many schools claim to be Montessori, many don't actually adhere to the principles very closely. SJMS is a true Montessori school, taking the time to not only practice the Montessori method but also to educate parents about the method. The school is small, just two classrooms with two dedicated teachers in each classroom, so the student-teacher ratio is quite good. If you're looking for a Montessori school that prioritizes the experience of your child, look no further.

My eldest graduated preschool from here which definitely prepared her for kindergarten. They have a beautiful program - structured play, circle time, fine motor skills, arts and crafts, academics, practical life skills - everything is play driven and fun for kids. The teachers went above and beyond to accommodate my child's medical needs, and I can never thank them enough for all the support and love and care they have provided. Now my youngest attends here and she loves this place just as much. The owner Ms. Ritu knows the students and families. She is hands on and accommodating. I highly recommend this place. I found them through a mom's group because I heard they are affordable and they potty train your kids! We tried everything in the book and the advice from other parents but nothing worked. That is, nothing worked until a few weeks after attending this preschool. The rates differ for potty trained and not potty trained. As soon as my little one was consistent, they switched to the potty-trained rate. Thank you! They provide food and snacks (included in the price) and the school is opened as early as 7:30Am-5:30Pm. This was one of my favorite things about the school . We did the 8hr/day, 5d/wk option and it was amazing. My daughter was there for a year and we wish we could keep her there but she had to move on. My daughter learned a lot (zoo phonics, reading, writing, cutting, geography, biology, the planets, etc). My 4 year old surprised us with naming the continents and saying significant things about each continent. She recited the anatomy of an insect (including the thorax)! She told us about the flower's stamen, pollinators, chlorophyll, and photosynthesis! She's 4 years old! That's insane and we are super happy. You also get to keep a binder of your child's work and you can see the progression on top of the crafts and projects they send the kids home with. The holidays are festive too! She loved the school and didn't want to leave. The school provides a monthly newsletter, the curriculum for the month, and the lunch menu. As parents of a tough- minded child, the partnership we had with the teachers helped keep our little one's attitude on check at home. With that said, we gained friendships along the way. These people are caring and we always felt like our child was in good care under their supervision. We highly recommend them!

Under Nabanita's leadership, the transition was seamless, and our child truly flourished. The care has been enriching, and the academic progress we've seen has been remarkable--at just 4 years old, our child could write their name, name all the planets in the solar system, and would proudly tell us that "the sun is a big star." One of our favorite features of CNS has been the optional swimming lessons at the neighboring YMCA. Both of our kids attended CNS and participated in this program, and it's such an amazing opportunity for busy working parents. You simply drop your kids off with their swim gear in the morning, and CNS takes care of the rest. Our kids' swimming abilities improved greatly thanks to this program, and they loved it! We've also loved the special events that Nabanita organizes for holidays, including Mother's Day and Father's Day celebrations where the children make special presents and perform a song for their parents. These thoughtful touches only deepen the sense of community that makes CNS so special. The community at CNS is truly something unique. The school is the perfect size--big enough for kids to have plenty of friends their own age, but small enough that they get individual attention. Parents naturally form close relationships, and many of the families we met during our time there remain close friends years later. We're so grateful to Nabanita, Ms. Zandra, and the whole team for providing such a warm, supportive, and enriching environment for both of our children. We couldn't recommend CNS more highly.

We were a bit nervous at first with the transition but ms.Nabanita handled it very professionally. She took the time to meet with the parents as a group and individually to address our concerns. We could not have been more pleased with the learning and play curriculum implemented by Ms. Nabanita. One day, my daughter came home and sang the days of the week song. Another day, she came home and told us about the United States of America! lol she's just over 3 years old. We're amazed at how much she's learning and retaining while having fun at the same time. Ms.Nabanita does a great job of balancing learning with art and play so the kids can be kids. I love seeing my daughter's progression in the artworks sent home at the end of each month. Overall, I appreciate the attention Ms.Nabanita gives to each child to focus on their strengths. She doesn't push if they're uncomfortable or not ready to do something. Everyday my daughter mentions Ms.Nabanita by name and that makes me so happy bc I know she's enjoying her time there. The parents are also great. There's a real sense of community and we are fortunately to have connected with many of them. Unfortunately, the commute from our new home was not ideal so we made the hard decision to withdraw from the program. We will miss our teachers and friends there. Thank you CNS!

They put up chairs on the table as if they were done for the day, which children could knock over and get injured. Shouldn't the place be kept safe and enjoyable by children until they are picked up by their parents? 5 minutes into the tour, I saw a teacher spraying some sort of liquid everywhere (while children were still running around right around her), including a table where two children were still sitting at and eating their snack. I asked the director if that bottle is diluted bleach liquid, and she confirmed yes. I do want to emphasize that the teacher with the bleach bottle was spraying it so close to the bowls/plates the children were still eating from. Children could not only inhale bleach liquid if you spray that right around them, they could also ingest it if you are spraying it right around their bowls/plates. We ended the tour right there and walked out. My husband and I have been touring many daycares and preschools, and never felt the need to write a negative review on any of the places, including the ones we felt weren't up to our standards. However, for this place, as a mother, I felt responsible to write this as soon as I walked out the door as a warning to all parents who are currently sending (or thinking about sending) their children to this place. I want to ask the teachers and staff at this place. Would you spray bleach liquid right next to your own children while they are playing and eating?

No praise is high for Ms Priya and for the institutions she has built; she is a woman of ethics, integrity, and above all a genuine love for kids, their education, and their growth; this affection and care cannot be faked, or we would have noticed it in our 7 years of having our kids be entrusted in her hands. She has always been very responsible, responsive and ever ready to ensure we (along with all the other parents) feel like their kids are safe, taken care of, learning and growing in this tender age. The San Jose location did have a bit of a churn with teachers a year or two ago and Ms Priya took actions and kept parents informed and updated on what she's doing and why.
