We waited to late several times before we remembered to order for our desired date & time. No complaints about the crust, toppings or taste, but there are other similar options that I prefer (are also easier to get if you didn't plan ahead or suddenly have a craving). Would I order again, sure just more likely to go with options that don't require advance planning for pizza night.

On our most recent visit decided to try a new option the Southern Style Deep Dish (Deep dish pizza…read morebaked and served in a cast iron skillet, a Southern take on Chicago style, with a crisp edge and hearty layers of pepperoni, Italian sausage, smoked bacon, and mozzarella, topped with our house marinara) and fortunately my son convinced me to get a large (16") basic Pepperoni Pizza (hand tossed dough, house marinara, mozzarella, and pepperoni) as well. I say fortunately because when he got home with the pizzas after picking them up for take out, I was shocked at how small the Southern Style Deep Dish ended up being. Essentially it was the size of the old personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut. While unsure what a "southern take" on a Chicago style might mean, I did not expect the soupy mess of toppings in a bread bowl, which is what we received. There was nothing wrong with the taste and there were ample protein toppings, just not enough cheese to bind it all together. Since my wife was not home for dinner, we decided to save her a "slice" to try later. It sitting overnight and being reheated greatly improved the consistency. What usually makes Chicago Style successful is more cheese than you usually have on a hand tossed or tavern style and in some cases a top layer of dough to really make it into a "pie". The taste of the toppings has never been an issue for me (with the exception of the "Lazy River - crawfish ettoufee, beer braised sweet peppers, charred red onion and mozzarella). Overall my take is unless you are going to order some of their more unique options such as my favorite "Gator Bait" (marinara, mozzarella, alligator sausage, roasted chicken, jalapeño peppers, and drizzled with creole creme) there are plenty of other better places for your pizza cravings. My son is also a fan of their Margherita pizza. For me it will likely be a good long while before suggesting a visit or pick up again.

In fact, it was a challenge to decide on only one pizza to order because there were several that we wanted to taste. We did decide on the Gator Bait, a spicy pizza with alligator sausage, raw jalapeños, and a creole sauce. It was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a side of ranch and it was definitely homemade, on the thinner side, perfect for dipping. 08-24-2025

I had the works mini pizza and bread sticks. Tasty and full of toppings. The crust was very good as well. Worth a stop if you are craving good pizza in a semi quick fashion. I felt the prices were a little high based on what I got. $24 for mini pizza, 2 bread sticks and a drink. No that's not a fair price for this place. That's a big reason for the 3 star review.

I sat while I waited under the enormous number of ceiling fans on the patio. It was quite cool and pleasant, even though it was August in Alabama. Not sure if there would be a spot to sit and wait on takeout if the restaurant was full. The pizzas were spectacular (and I'm sorry I don't remember the names) one was loaded up with all the meats and the other was loaded up with all the veggies both were excellent. The have signs and a website that claims to have the best pizza in Birmingham and I'm definitely not here to argue that!

A friend and I split the medium double pepperoni pizza. It was reminiscent of Costco pizza (compliment). It's greasy, but it's good. It was the correct amount of pizza for two people who weren't super hungry. The atmosphere here is so homey and simple, it's a great spot to be. Definitely family-friendly. Around dinner time, after the Homewood shops close, parking is super easy to find. They have a good beer and wine selection, sodas, but no iced tea! Maybe I just caught them on an off-day. I don't think any establishment in Alabama has ever told me they don't have iced tea. The servers are all very friendly, and our pizza came out piping hot and fresh. Prices are good for this 2025 world.

The staff is friendly and welcoming and it just feels like they all know how to run a great restaurant! I ordered a personal bbq pizza. It was enough food to either make me really full if I ate the whole thing or be content and save some for later (I chose the former as I couldn't help myself). This pizza isn't personally my favorite style but I really enjoyed it. The slices are cut really small but each slice is piled with loads of cheese. Like a lot. The crust is soft but the more you take bites of it, it gets cracker crispy. The bbq sauce on the pizza was also not overly sweet, which i enjoyed as bbq pizzas can be hit or miss. I also indulged in some fried pickles that came out looking like fries which I have never seen before. I have to say they might one of the better fried pickles I've ever had. I would definitely come back here to try a pizza with red or white sauce, and some of the other good looking options

If you're from here, this place holds a nostalgic place in your heart. I finally tried it after years of living here. Did the rectangle pie match the adoration from all the people I've talked to about pizza over the years? To me it was not great, not bad. The sauce was more on the robust side, but lacking lots of flavor. The crust on the outside was dense, I enjoyed it. The toppings tasted fresh with lots of cheese. I think the cheese was the best part of the pizza. For the prices here, I was expecting a bit more.
