The last time I ordered food I was told 30 minutes. I showed up and there was a line of people outside; okay, they are nice and busy, awesome. They had a plexiglass barrier at the door with a little window that opened to take payment and hand out the food so no one came inside. I waited about 10 minutes and asked someone standing outside how long they had been there. Multiple people said an hour!!!! I called the restaurant and knocked on the glass when they would not answer. I could see them ignoring the ringing phone and customers outside. I called another Chinese restaurant from the parking lot, ordered food, and picked it up 20 minutes later. Two hours and 15 minutes AFTER my order was placed Hong Kong called me to tell me my food was ready.

Well what can I say? Talk about "I love this BAR!" hahaha (if ya don't know the song by Toby Kieth…read morelook it up) Totally up my alley, laid back, you can smoke inside, country music and alternative rock is mostly not he Juke Box. This was the first bar I have ever been too in South Carolina, I did a little search for bars close by after getting into town for a few days and finally was rested from driving 1,300 miles for 4 days, and decided to explore! I've only been in South Carolina for less than 3 weeks as I'm writing this, and I have gone to Palmetto's 3 times so far. Showed up last Tuesday and was a little surprised because It was super packed! Nevertheless I soon found out it was pool league night. Very cool atmosphere even with it being crowded the place was still cozy and comfortable. Other than I guess Tuesday it's pretty chill, the crowds come and go as any good ol boy bar. Also I must say I am a black woman, but I am country as hell and love country music and rock music, hahaha so rest assured, I haven't gotten any nasty looks whenever I go here , and everyone shows recognition to any gestures and voicing something out loud. Both the bartenders I have encountered were very laid back and non judgmental. Also just for notes sake, I do go out by myself so I'm never in a crowd. I might go on a tinder date or something with a guy and go bar hopping but 99% when I go places I go alone. Much easier that way if you ask me. Anywho! I don't mean to be too long winded and over talk a nice simple bar that I just have grown to love in a very short amount of visits. Overall! I highly recommend if you like a REAL southern bar full of old-timers and cowboys.

Rustic interior with wooden benches and tables, across several seating areas and an outside patio. We were greeted walking in and seated in the same moments, our server was kind and attentive. We started with an appetizer, their Jalapeno Cheddar Hush Puppies. A nice serving of golden brown pups and a dipping sauce. Great flavor and just a hint of spicy heat. A good start. After giving the menu a good read, I opted for the Calabash Shrimp and Flounder. Its another solid choice if you're there for the seafood. A nice meal with golden fried shrimp, a couple flounder filets with hush puppies, slaw and potato salad, cocktail and tartar sauce. This is good comfort food cooking and it works. I enjoyed my meal very much. 4 Stars good food, fair prices and kind staff 01277

Was told to find an open table. 2. Greeted by waitress that took our drink order and ordered a fried mushroom appetizer. It was ok. Luke warm, maybe sitting under a heat lamp. I know this because my dad owned a similar place for 8 years. It took 6-8 minutes to cook fried mushrooms in 350 degrees grease (if you are not busy). Ranch was delicious! Our mushroom appetizer came out before our drinks did. Very quick!!! Owell!!! We're decent. 3. Wife ordered chicken Philly with a side salad. She said both were very good. Her Philly looked good and would be something that I would order next time. 4. I had 10 wings rolled in hot and a side of fries. Both were very good. 5. I took away a star because the floor was dirty around us. I watched those cleaning tables wipe the paper trash (straw wrappers and napkins) into the floor. No one bus-Ing the tables put any extra effort in making sure that the trash was picked up under the tables or floor. I saw several chicken bones on the floor. Kind of disgusting. 6. My waitress was good. I left here a 25% tip. She had food out to us, checked on us 3-4 times, and kept tea glasses full. 7. Minus a star because I watched two ladies butcher 6 tables. 4 of the tables were college/ high school students. Both were very good behavior, but seemed that the waitresses could care less. Never refilled drinks, never brought ketchup as asked, did not bring boxes to go. Kind of ridiculous!!! Overall...3 stars. Improvement needed in 2 areas!
