This place has been a life saver for us since we moved to NJ. They take a good care of our dog and he comes home happy every time he goes there. Their facility is spacious with 3 different rooms for unsocial doggies and friendly ones. No crates used so the dogs can sleep wherever they want. They have been good with giving medicine or supplements when mine needs it. They can also give him shampoo before he leaves which is almost necessity for mine. The price is better than the most I have found on dogvacay which is now Rover I think. The staff is friendly and reliable. We haven't had any issues with my dog's stays. read more

REVIEW FOR CAT GROOMING: Very good experience here. We don't have much to compare to as this is the first place we tried but were very satisfied! My family actually brings our long haired kitty cat here because her fur tends to get very matted, tangled and gross. I'd imagine this is scary for her because it's a salon full of dogs! But they do their best to make her comfortable and we've been satisfied with the results. Sometimes she looks silly like the time they made her look like a little lion (with the little tail poof) but now we specify what we want her to look like. So just discuss the desired result with them. They even put an adorable little bandana on her sometimes! So I would recommend this place for cat owners, unless your cat is really easily spooked, then you might want to seek out a place that caters to only cats. Also, just as an fyi, as far as cats are concerned, grooming changes their smell. Her cat family (mom and brother) do not immediately recognize her natural smell (b/c it's masked by the smell of shampoo) and ostracize her for a little bit. Sometimes they even smack her around! Gave this dog salon several chances (aka 3) hoping each time was about of the ordinary. All 3 times I had an appointment at a set time, and all 3 times they were disgustingly unprofessional. My dog would be there for 7.5 hours for a haircut???Every time I called they would say he's up next, meanwhile that's a load of Bull, then they pull excuses out of their...saying the groomer got bit, my dog had an "accident" that they couldn't say over the phone, until I got there and they told me he pooped in the cage he was being held in. And if that's the case was my dog in a cage for 7 hours?? Overall, this place is not somewhere i will bring my dog or recommend someone to bring theirs. They are extremely tardy, have excuses all the time, and leave cuts (small and not harmful) on my dog because they're clearly rushing and do not care. That's why I wouldn't recommended this place. I hope this review was helpful, I'm sure that's why this (at the time of writing) salon only has 6 reviews, everyone else who didn't like this place did not bother to let everyone know how bad this place is. read more

1st experience & last experience- brought our dog for grooming n they took a couple of hours for a simple wash & cut. Came to pick up her up, her hair was still long & later come to find out, she managed to catch fleas. My brother suggested that maybe it was a bad day for them. I left it alone. I was charged extra becuase "she is a complicated dog". Took her elsewhere & havent had any problems or "complication issues". read more

I found the owner and staff to be so friendly and efficient. The facility was clean and I could tell by the decor how much these folks love dogs. I especially loved the individual cottages and the state of the art flooring to protect the pads on dogs paws. The grooming job was perfect. No need to venture anywhere else. As a result of Lisa's pet shop not groom g her nail and had to have it removed with emergency surgery, the foot continued to get infections, u til it got so bad that her blood poisoning made her so ill that we had to have her put down on 10/18/16. This is the first time that we left our beagle Hazel in a boarding place for 2 weeks. We were scare and concern do to many reviews for many places were the dogs come back home injured. But Lisa's was amazing. We called every day and the staff was always nice and understanding. Hazel loved it and was happy as always. Is a hard decision to leave part of your family behind when you are going on vacations but I can tell you that Lisa's will take care of your 4 legged baby with love. Thanks and keep up the good work. I sent my dog here for daycare on weekdays for a little over seven months starting in December 2018. Everything was fine up until the following summer. The air conditioning is inadequate and they kept putting more and more fans everywhere. From what I observed, there were only two small wall/window until air conditioners in the whole place, which didn't provide enough cooling at all. There were days when I would pick up my dog and she would be uncomfortably panting and laying on the floor while we were standing in the reception area. The place was like a sauna and I worried that she would be at risk since she was running around and playing all day. I was even burning hot while being in there for only a short time. I also noticed that the facility was really beat up, needed major renovations and sometimes smelled like cigarette smoke. There were old couch cushions in the corner of the parking lot that sat there for months that no one bothered to pick up. There was also one time when I was sitting in my car in their parking lot after I dropped off my dog and a homeless man knocked on my window and asked me for money. After that, I felt really uncomfortable about being outside this place. The only positive thing I experienced was that Bob was always accommodating to me because of my work schedule and I always appreciated that. Based on what he would tell me, he was usually left alone with many dogs, which lead me to believe that they were really understaffed. I stopped bringing my dog here in July 2019 and never went back. read more

Not recommended for daycare/boarding. Brought my dog once and we will not be going back. They were very disorganized on drop off and pick up; the place itself does not seem clean -it was worse when I picked up and I've been to plenty of other daycares so I know in general they're never sparkling clean. Was not happy with the staff - left with an unsettling feeling when I dropped off but thought it was because it was a new place. HORRIBLE FIRST & LAST EXPERIENCE!!!!!! I called to make an appointment and spoke with Lisa who seemed nice over the phone. Once I got there she was a totally different cold person and looked like she didn't care for my dog at all. She was rushing me while asking me what I wanted. I have a Yorkie who is almost 5 months old and I asked for a puppy cut, ears plucked & tipped. I was told it would be a 2 hour wait, which is understandable. I stayed for a few minutes to look around and all the items they had for sale were full of dust like if they never clean. I finally got a call 3 &1/2 hours later!!! When I picked him up he looked horrible. Another worker looked flustered so I asked her why, she stated they had a rough day & had a lot of walk ins, which mostly likely means my baby was not tended to when dropped off. His ears were NOT plucked or tipped like I requested so I asked why. I was told by the same flustered worker "oh we just trimmed the ears & did a standard Yorkie cut". They also put a top knot on him which I DID NOT request & completely wrecked the hair on his face, In other words they did what THEY wanted to do to him and never really considered what I wanted. When I inspected his body at home they cut inside his ear & around his genitals which now has scabs. I should have went with my gut feeling once I saw the dusty items for sale on display. The only reason I went there was because of all the good reviews on here which I don't understand. TOTAL WASTE OF MY MONEY. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!!!!! Have brought my mini poodle here since he was maybe 2 or 3 years old. nice and clean. the employees are friendly. rusty's cut is usually around $50 and is between a poodle cut and puppy cut. they also do a full service for him which includes nails and teeth. rusty's hair gets matted a lot so they do a very good job untangling and trimming. hope rusty doesn't give them a hard time but he comes back smelling/looking great. read more

I have been bringing my dog here for 7 years. I have tried other places closer to me but the other places always cut my dog's skin and she has scabs. When I take her to Lisa's, she smells wonderful for days. I have a 15lb shitzu poodle and pay about $50 each time, not too bad. read more

I took my Yorkie here. Receptionist was nice. That's about it. I gave a detailed description of what I wanted and even showed her a picture of her last hair cut. The one I wanted. They called me 1 and half after I dropped her off which I thought was good. Until I got there. They didn't give her the cut I asked for. The cut was terrible and her hair was still pretty long so I asked them to fix it. They said it would take 1 or 2 hours because they had other dogs to attend. So I didn't wait. When I got home 20 min later. They called me saying she was ready to be picked up. When I got there again I noticed she had long and short pieces of hair everywhere. And her eyes were still dirty. After making 3 trips to the salon in one day. I was done. I usually pay $55 at my place in lyndhurst. I wasted an entire day driving back and forth for the worse cut she ever had. $45 & half my Saturday wasted. Never again. read more

I've brought my dog to Lisa's for the past ten years. While I have tried out other salons, such as at Petsmart, Petco, and other various local establishments, I think Lisa's is the favorite. In the past, I have gotten him back without the proper haircut being done, hence my trials at other salons, but they have been consistently excellent for the past few years, and theirs is the only place we will ever go in the future. read more

I cannot explain how happy I am, with the way my dog is treated, at Lisa's Doggie Daycare. Everyone there, is so professional, and it has become like a second home for my dog. It is the best thing that has happened to me, and my dog. I drop him off, in the morning, and go to work, with complete peace of mind. I know he is happy, and playing all day. Been taking my dog to day care and boarding since they opened but service has dropped. Today i called for daycare and they didn't know if they were busy but promised to call back. They didn't. Seems like it is merely a job to the caretaker.Last time i boarded dog had cuts on both front paws from what i can assume is trying to get out of the enclosure. Lisa's Doggie Daycare has been taking care of my dog for about a month now and I am very pleased with them! My dog loves going there and Hugh is her favorite person to see every morning when I bring her in! Lisa "interviews" the dogs to make sure they are a good fit before agreeing to take them in; something that is important to me for the overall safety and care of my dog. She gets to run and play with other dogs which is keeping her active. No cages like big chain day care centers and plenty of human interaction, which is vital in any dogs life. I have to say that I've been going to Lisa for many years and I've never had not one incident or problem with my dog he has so has been around for many years and she's been grooming my dog since I've had my dog she's one of the best groomers in town and around the area and as far as her Dog Day Care Facility is one of the best ever they don't cage and the dogs the dogs are free all day and Doggy Daycare I will continue to come to this place because they treat my dog with much love thank you Lisa. read more

I brought both my shitzu dogs here. They went in for a grooming. I previously used to come here before with both and never had a bad experience until management changed. Not only were they rude. Mickey and Max both dogs are very friendly and playful. I understand that sometimes they get too hyper but "because a trainee was grooming them" isn't a proper excuse to cut both my dog. Mickey had a gash by his eye where his brow is the size of my nail and several small knicks on his front legs specifically near his paws. Max had small cut on his paws as well, a cut on his ear and knicks on his tail. They told me that my dogs had been rambunctious and that since they were training someone it would be okay. I used to bring my dogs here all the time but after that experience and the horrible way of treating me and my dad never again. I wasted money on horrible service and patchy grooming skills. Used to be great place. Went totally down hill. No late nights and cancelled on me 3 Saturday's in a row just hours before my dogs appointment was due. Nothing but excuses every time. Meanwhile my dog hasn't been groomed in 6 weeks because of them. After years of loyal patronage I will have to find a new groomer now. Lisa didn't even call herself to apologize.
