Instead of a careful, deliberate approach, the practitioner repeatedly pressed or hit painful areas and then asked if the pain improved. When I said it hadn't, he quickly added multiple needles in the same area of my head without much explanation. The process felt rushed and reactive rather than thoughtful or planned. All of the needles were placed in my head, which is very different from my past experiences, and there was little effort to explain the reasoning behind this approach. I left feeling uncomfortable and unconvinced that there was a clear treatment strategy. What concerned me most was the lack of professionalism. At one point, he even stated that he is "not a great acupuncturist," which seriously undermined my confidence in the care I was receiving. He also mentioned using random images from the internet for his website, which made me question the credibility of the business overall. These were not even his patients on the site. I've had acupuncture elsewhere, and this experience felt significantly below the standard I would expect. Others may have different experiences, but I felt uncomfortable with both the technique and the overall professionalism.

It was a Thursday evening session, and community style. I did a little research as I have never had acupuncture before, but I felt like this was something I needed as I'm under a lot of stress from the daily world. It was about a 30-40 min session. He placed about 5 needles per ears and it felt like nothing. We chatted about my journey, and he was really great in explaining each pressure point to me, and just overall how it'll help with the stress I've been under. After the needles I meditated for about 20 mins, and he removed them. It was a great stress reliever and I just felt calm afterwards, almost like I was on a cloud. It was definitely a different feeling than when I walked in. Well about two weeks later, I found out I was pregnant and now going on my 7th week. Again we've been trying for 8 months, and I was so discouraged but the stress I was under was more than normal and the social pressures of getting pregnant at my age was a lot. Having had a similar knee injury in the past without holistic treatment, I thought it would be a great basis of comparison. While treating the obvious, Katy also did a deep dive into my overall health and began treating lingering back and neck pain that stemmed from old(er) age and/or being sports related so ,nonetheless, I had nagging issues contributing to less than optimal quality of life that was worth trying to fix.
