Dr. Todd asked me if I had any current aches or pains (Why yes, yes I do!) and then gave me a rundown on how he would perform my massage. He also let me know that I could have him adjust the pressure/touch at any time during the massage. I don't like my massage to hurt a lot, but I am aware that there will be some pain because I like have my knots and tight spots worked out well. I didn't need Dr. Todd to adjust the pressure, because it was perfect for me. Ahhh hurts so good! I could really feel the knots loosening up little by little as he performed the massage. I know that these things cannot be magically fixed in one appointment, but I could tell that my shoulders and neck weren't nearly as tight as they were when I walked in. There were only two aspects of my visit that weren't 100% ideal for me. It was a bit chilly in the massage room (which detracted a bit of that warm and cozy, I-just-got-a-massage feeling), and also the oil used left my back a bit greasy. He knows exactly where it hurts and how to work out the kinks. Now if you are one of those people who doesn't like deep tissue massages, he is a full-range therapist. He makes adjustments to his techniques depending on your needs and comfort.
