Here you will find a great selection of craft beer and wines from the region plus some usual suspects from abroad and a good mix of all the styles is usually in stock. I did find some good surprises like Napoleon from up north which is rarely found in the inner city and a few other lesser known goodies. The staff is friendly and non-pushy which I find delightful and the prices are pretty good. If you happen to cross through this area give this place a visit and forgive yourself for the time spent looking through the great selection of beer/wine.

Sure, there's plenty of bars with local/craft beers on tap, but I was after the good stuff to have at home. Thus, Carwyn Cellars has been a heaven sent solution. There is beer on shelves, there is beer in fridge coolers, there is even beer lined up ready for picking. If your poison is wine, don't be alarmed, there's a fully stocked room filled with wines to delight your tastes. Or if liquor is quicker for you, they have an array behind the counter. The staff is helpful and I appreciate the 15% off discount when you buy a mixed six-pack of beer. That always is a push to buy more beer, as if you need one right? The cellar store leads into the bar in the back. I only got in a glance, from what I could make of it, they've got a nice little setup here. With plenty of good craft beers on tap, and the option of indoor/outdoor seating. Carwyn is the perfect place to come and get your drink on and then without even leaving, purchase a few more to take home. I'm all for it.

Well Vintage Cellars ticks both of those boxes. You won't find any wines here that would be more suited being sold in a goon sack and there are specials of great wines always scattered throughout the store. Its not like I need to be encouraged to buy two bottle of vino, so I am happy to get the discount. Vintage Cellars have their own brand of cleanskins as well. Which are mostly around the $10 mark and in my experience are all really good wines. Their beer selection isn't all that bad either.

However, they do sell beer, which certainly works for me considering that while I don't mind the occasional drop of wine, it certainly isn't my go to drink, and I tend to only drink it when I'm either in France, or in Tuscany. Still, this place wasn't bad at all, and while it might look like a bottle shop, you can sit inside, or out in the beer garden, or even out the front in the street, and drink your drink.

However, as the days have gone on, I've realized that I tell nearly every beer drinking friend I meet about this glorious hole-in-the-wall. Good: Tru Bru sells beer by the growler in three different sizes. Simply choose your bottle, choose your brew, and walk home happy. At the moment all taps are rotated daily, but soon there will be a few regular staples to expect. If you're not sure what you like, the friendly staff will pour you a taste of anything and everything they've got. Better: Tru Bru has fun, cheeky branding. Ask about the shirts and the store of the mare, the hare, and the bear. The staff are clearly very passionate both about the brand and the beer. Even though this side street spot is only big enough for maybe 10 people at most, it's bursting with personality and passion. Best: Not only are growlers eco-friendly, but they're much cheaper than buying booze by the bottle. Support local brewers, and local business, by drinking local. P.S.
