I am not sure if Neil is just unbelievably overwhelmed but we are planning our wedding for November 9th and have been trying to plan with Neil for at least a month and were told yes on our needs. When trying to go over everything and get it all nailed down we were basically ghosted. I have reached out several times and received one text back saying he had reached out to my fiance and he left me his cell which he never answers or responds to texts. My fiance has wanted to hire this company since just before covid when we were supposed to get married but put it off for obvious reasons. She was so excited to finally be able to book thoroughfare only to be disappointed in the end. Maybe we are just a one off I don't know but this is what we experienced with Neil and are very disgusted with the way this went. The 2 stars is because the food is undeniably terrific sadly we will not be experiencing the food at our wedding thanks to the lack of communication. Maybe they are just too busy for all the customers ...

I thought it was a vegan place. It did not last, maybe due to its location (and name). I had seen the sign change last year but never went to it because of the problem of crossing the street. I looked at the menu online and decided to risk it and sprint across the hiway. I was not disappointed. Really good quality food and fair portions for the price. I had soup and a chopped salad. Chunks of blue cheese, lots of turkey, thick bacon and dressing of my choice piled high on greens. I will be back even if Mauldin doesn't put in a crosswalk.....

Stepping up to the counter I was greeted with a friendly smile from the young lady behind the register. I asked her a few questions about sides and food which she was able to inform about. I decided to go with the "Daily Special", as stated by the sign next to me, and go with the jalapeno and cheddar cheese burger with sweet potato fries. I sat myself at a high-top against the wall so that I could observer the restaurant. The young lady brought out my beverage and told me she will be bringing me my food as soon as it's ready. As I sat there waiting I noticed that one of the A/C vents had a heavy build up of condensation which dripped down to the floor creating a small pool of water. I noticed another lady that worked there, maybe the chef or manager, had a smile on her face and stopped by all of the tables to speak with the customers. All of the tables except mine were greeted. In the beginning there were 8 people including myself and more slowly came in which kept the young lady busy at the register. The more senior employee brought some drinks to the larger table, these looked like refills, but did not notice me with my empty glass. Finally after 21 minutes my medium well burger came out. The flavor was not bad and it filled me up. The flavor however did not taste like a juicy burger you would get a five guys or off the grill. I was not very impressed impressed by the quality of burger I received for the amount of time it took. I may give this place another try but will not be getting the burger. They seem more like a salad or maybe a sandwich place. Who know's they may even drop by my table next time to see how my visit is going. I cannot give a thumbs up or down on this visit. If you decide to eat here go in with an open mind.

I hired Hill's Catering to cater my daughter's wedding and it was one of the smartest things I did…read morein the whole planning process. First and most importantly, the food was absolutely delicious. We had a smaller guest count than we'd planned for because of COVID stuff, so even though we all ate until we could barely move, there were leftovers, and let me tell you, it was not hard to give them away when we were packing up. Secondly, the food wasn't fussy. I'm sure they could do that if you wanted them to, but we wanted simple comfort food and it was perfect. Chicken & waffles, cajun shrimp in phyllo cups, ham biscuits, a beautiful vegetable tray, deviled eggs, things like that. Just delicious. Writing this review is making me hungry! The third highlight was the reasonable cost. Even at a time when a lot of caterer's were raising their prices at the last minute, Hill's Catering was very reasonably priced, and they were very good about saying, "here's the less expensive option, or if you can spend a little more we could do this," etc. The last wonderful thing is Mrs. Nita Hill herself. From the first email, I felt like I had a planning partner I could trust. I even hugged her when I finally met her in person, and people, I am not a hugger. She is super conscientious, a great communicator, and a heck of a cook. All the other details were just as they should be: they showed up in plenty of time, brought plenty of help, got to work, brought extras everything we might need, checked in often, and left the place spotless. There was seriously not one thing I would change. If you want real food, good food, or real good food for your event, talk to Hill's Catering.
