So my best friend and I surprised another friend today, and took her down to Lips for the first time.(It was also his first time) I knew that she would be thrilled, but I was overjoyed when I saw her reaction to our "Sunday Brunch" location. When we walked in we were greeted by a couple of the Queens, who quickly took us to our table. We got to choose from many delicious meals. I had the chicken and waffles, my friend had the chicken sandwich, and our birthday girl had the chicken Caesar salad. All of our meals were delicious, and we said we were surprised. We expecting maybe lower quality considering they were more of a show than a restaurant. We were happily proved wrong. The fries were extra crispy, the chicken and waffles were divine, and my friend said it was one of the best chicken Caesar salads she had. The Saturday and Sunday brunches come with all you can drink mimosas or bloody Marys. Even though none of us drink we thought that was great. The show began shortly after lunch and was highly entertaining! Each $40 ticket included lunch and the show. We loved every minute of it! These queens are so dedicated to their craft, and their costume changes and wig changes were incredible! Like I said it was my friend's birthday celebration, and for $10 more she got to be put on stage and have a picture taken with two queens. All in all it lasted about 2 hours and 40 minutes, and we all had a fantastic time! This was my third or fourth time there, and it is a great place to do any kind of celebration! Lips is hands down the BEST brunch experience ever! From the moment we walked in, the vibes were absolutely immaculate. The drag queens were not only incredibly talented but also some of the nicest, most welcoming people you'll ever meet, we truly didn't want to leave. The service was fantastic, everyone was so friendly and attentive, and it just added to the fun atmosphere. The food was honestly really good too, which isn't always the case at themed brunches, but Lips delivered on both the entertainment and the dining. If I had one wish, it would be for a bit more variety of current pop hits in the music lineup but honestly, that's just nitpicking. Everything else was flawless. If you read nothing else of my review read this: Bring singles! Yes. These ladies are working hard and deserve every bit of "moulah" that you can hand them as they strut their stuff on stage and through the entire venue! I went with a large group of women for a recent Sunday Gospel brunch (Gospel brunch is back and is the first Sunday of each month) and it was a blast. There are two brunch sittings (one at 11:30 and the other at 2pm) and the energy that these performers have to have to do this show twice is crazy! For one set price, ($39.95) you get a choice of entree (there is an entire range of items from Eggs Benedict, to crabcakes to pasta) and then unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Marys. For a small upcharge you can also get unlimited frozen cosmos so know before you go! And when I say unlimited, they mean it as bottle after bottle of champagne landed on our table along with pitchers of orange juice. On the day I was there, the audience was made up of bachelorette parties as well as birthdays and just some people hanging out, but whether people were celebrating something or not, everyone came to have fun and this venue ensures that! The service is outstanding, the jokes are flying, and probably my favorite part was at the end when the "man in the mirror" segment was done. However the food has to be some of the worst food I've ever had in my life. I had the chicken and waffles which were overcooked chicken thickly breaded like you'd get at the cafeteria in elementary school plus a soggy waffle.. it's a shame because for the price you'd expect better food. The drinks are average too - nothing special. We had unlimited mimosa with some of the nastiest champagne I've ever had. It was supposed to be their last show as the place was going to close, but they were bought out. Glad to hear. Been a Ft. Lauderdale staple for close to two decades. The show is great, as are the entertainers. The food is okay. A few of us ordered various things - not even look warm but edible. You realize the entertainers are servers and have a lot of tables to cover - but it's their job. Your table has OJ on it and they bring bottles of bubbly for the mimosas. Those of us who opted for bloody mary's didn't see the flow like you did the mimosas. Some tables were given pitchers of bloody's, those with two or one at a table got a small.....if you were lucky a refill, maybe two. Would I go back again? Sure. I'd give it yet another try. But if you're going to offer "all you can drink mimosa's and bloody mary's, included in the price, keep them coming. A glass should never sit empty long, unless the customer requests such. They bring ONE check per table and DO NOT split it. They may want to rethink that. I went to Lips with some friends for my bachelorette party and it was my first time at a drag show. I have to say, it was the most entertaining brunch I've had in a long time! The $35.95 package includes unlimited mimosas, champagne, or bloody Mary's. A delicious breakfast of your choice and a fun drag show. For my breakfast dish I ordered the Egg benedict that comes with poached egg, English muffin, and a side of fried potatoes. The egg was cooked perfectly and it was delicious! All the performers were all amazing. All the performers were talented and amazing at dancing and lip syncing. It's a really great place for a bachelorette, birthday, or any celebrations. If you go as a bachelorette party, you'll get called up on stage. I won't go into the details, to keep the surprise, but you'll get your picture taken and a card. This has got to be one of the best Drag shows I have ever been to! We made sure to book a month prior since we saw that spots were starting to dwindle fast. Booking online was easy! Upon arrival, there was a line already by the door. We arrived about 20 minutes prior and they opened the doors right at 7pm. We walked on in and we were met by the host. He got us checked in and they escorted us to our seats. Once seated our friendly waitress China came on over and dropped off menus. We ordered chicken marsala with mashed potatoes and salmon with white rice. (both dishes were served with veggies) For drinks we ordered one frozen Cosmo and one Pick the Diva Off the Floor. The food was soooooooo good. I really enjoyed the salmon and the vegetables. The chicken marsala was also a favorite, it had so much flavor. The dessert though we really didn't care for as much, the cannoli's were a little dry. The drinks were cute and fun and the Cosmo was delicious. My sister also received a complimentary slice of cake and a free photo onstage since we were there celebrating her 21st birthday! The show was GREAT and all the ladies knew how to work it. Saturday brunch was around $35.00 per person mimosas and Bloody Mary inclusive. We opted to do the upgrade to the frozen cosmo for an additional $10. The food, come for the food and the theatrics. But, the food! The pasta was so creamy and delicious. I left nothing on my plate. Also, the steak was very juicy and tender. Overall very good experience, I was amazed by the talented personalities. A fun Drag show to visit when in Fort Lauderdale. Many soon-to-be-brides and Birthday celebrations come here and are in the spotlight! I've always wanted to go here and I'm so happy I did! I brought two of my friends and we were celebrating together. Make sure you tell your wait staff what you are celebrating! Making a reservation online was super easy through open table. The venue is super cute and fun loved all the decor. Now for the queens!! They were amazing. Brought so much energy and fun to the crowd. The one complaint I have about this is that the music was almost too loud to the point where it was slightly unenjoyable. The food was pretty meh. The girls know their stuff! I came here tho for one thing and one thing only: to rate the food. IT. WAS. AMAZING! I got the salmon and mind you, I eat salmon every day at home I shit you not but this salmon idk... it sparkles in this dull dull world we live in. It was honestly incredible. To start out, the host (which I can't remember the name) was excellent. They had the best jokes and literally made the show 10x more entertaining. The food was subpar for $44. The performances (dancing, acrobatics, attire/costumes and makeup) were top shelf. It is very Interactive and will put ANYONE in a good mood from a rough day and smiles on the entire audience.
