Upon entering it doesn't really look like much but when you step in you first see a shop filled with authentic traditional philippine decor. From dining plates to beautiful handcrafted vases and local artwork I was amazed. Service- We were seated promptly and all the staff were so friendly and courteous. They went through the menu and answered all questions and even gave us a tour of the balcony sitting area. Food- Delicious.. We had multiple dishes since we were a big group. We had the Seafood platter. Grilled black calamari sounds and looks weird but it was one of the best tasting dishes I ever had! Okoy seafood fried cakes fried garlic rice and grilled oysters. It was definitely a treat. The portion sizes were big and everything cooked to perfection. The view was amazing from the balcony where you could also be seated. the lush hills of greenery is a great backdrop for photos or just to admire the view. Everything was perfect. Definitely a place to see!

Service- pretty slow considering there were tons of servers. Food-- this is a family style restaurant- hence every order is for 2-4 people. Appetizer- we had boneless crispy pata-- crispy, fatty and definitely a must have here. Main meal- we ordered Bulalo(Beef and tendons kn broth), something Binakol, and the grilled native fish. The flavor profile for Bulalo and Binakol was really subtle- and not at all impressive. The grilled fish was actually pretty good. Garlic or plain white rice is ordered separately, and I recommend garlic if you are eating dry food. We didn't stick around for desert.. but they do offer a pretty good selection.

I like the ambiance of the place and the simple no muss, no fuss interior. Specially because you're in Tagaytay, at the end of the night after you go around the area you'd want to dine somewhere relaxing and stay at a place that feels like home before you go back to your hotel room or before you go back to the city. The last time I was here it was about an hour before closing time so there were only a few patrons left and I know that in other restaurants the staff would most likely be impatient or it'd be noticeable that they have somewhere to be which is of course understandable but in their case, you couldn't see a hint of it on their faces or actions. Though we didn't take long and got out before closing. I would recommend you try their: Laing (I love laing, I'd order it anywhere) and Pork Binagoongan. They have quite a number of items on the menu, I'm sure you'd be able to find what you're craving for there and that they'd satisfy that craving with really good food. To be fair, we did, for the most part, stick to the no red meat rule. We dined on Pusit, Sinigang na Bangus, Ensaladang Mangga, and Spicy Ginisang Hipon. Unfortunately, my brother just had to have Pork Barbecue that day, so #FAIL. Holy Week at The Grill is a crowded affair. In fact, we had to wait in line before we were seated. We had to wait some more for our food to be served, but the taste of their home-cooked Filipino meals were more than enough to make up for it.

I've come back from afar and wanted to dine again, on their bulalo and voila, the crowds descended like hungry wolves which made my trip, more interesting and exciting. The mist from an unstoppable showers was complicit in creating an avant garde of magical beauty as we sat down and ordered our culinary delights. The huge one sized bulalo was to die for, bone marrow was salivating, meat was super tender and the soup reminds me of honey in some sense. Their dinakdakan was sliced and presented in its usual sense, aromatic with the spices and pork fat that to me, defines what truly was an epicurean Filipino classic dish. Their "grilled squid" was sliced perfectly and tasted like no other, chewy but tasty, squiddy but came with a combination of spices that reminds me of the sea. The tilapia was mainstream, grilled perfectly but and with fresly cut tomatoes and onions which enriched the usual restaurant menu. I can go on and on but the beauty of Tagaytay was in its View To A Kill, mist laden but as the sun came to slowly diminish the fog, a paradise of sorts appeared from the front of the restaurant like a gods was of Athena on a bright morning day. So, if you're in the Philippines, head to Leslie's Restaurant in Tagaytay and mix in with the crowd who come from all over towns and countries to enhance their culinary experiences in a nation of maikling and happy people. Oh one more observation, the servers were great, smiling as always, kind and knowledgeable about the dishes they serve... TGIS was an important part of the experience, too. So, as I go back home to California, I feel am truly richer than yesterday and more content with my visit of the Philippines with this stimulating culinary experience!

Minimize expectations as to the aesthetics and you will be on your way to a wonderful meal. We found ourselves at this hole in the wall as we drove through Lipa on business a few days ago. 3 hungry guys in the car don't make for good company, and low and behold we saw Sisig Uno. All with hungry tummies we stopped for a quick afternoon lunch and we're happily surprised by the food. Staff is minimal but friendly. We ordered up the crispy sisig, the special on the menu. It took a little bit for the food to come out because they cook it up as you order, no turo turo style here. The sisig portion was big enough for 2, or 1 really hungry person (so we ordered 3). The meat was crispy as and full of flavor with just the right amount of heat, not overly spicy. I was pretty surprised that a little hole in the wall could turn out a meal this good. Loved that fact that the sisig came out with an egg on top! I've been places that don't offer the egg on top, but what is sisig without an egg on top! It's gotta have that egg on a sizzling platter that you mix in all together and that's exactly what I got here at Sisig Uno. Their rice was also darn good, soft and have great eating qualities. I'm sure this little place will be a regular stop over when we ride through the Lipa area again. Stay Hungry my Friends! a La Cuisine!

While everything on the menu sounded appetizing, we came here for one thing and that was the lomi. We added the fried mushrooms, karaage chicken, and Chinese fried rice (no photo taken). The fried enoki mushrooms were fried perfectly, but I think I expected a little more out of those. Maybe to be more full since they were quite thin. The soup was really good in my opinion for someone who tried Lomi for the first time. The karaage wasn't half as bad! I wish they fried it one more time though just to get a more brown color & have a little more of that ginger taste. We also got the chocolate sea salt cookies at the end and they were delicious! It was a nice chewy cookie shaped brownie with a hint of sea salt which balances everything out. If you look at the menu, there's a lot of great stuff! If I ever come back to Batangas, I would like to try their other items next time.

Whether you're in a group of 10 or just a table of two, they have seating for you. The inside is also one of the cleanest I've seen in the Philippines! The wooden aesthetic and the widespread lighting inside the building helps add to the cleanliness of the place! Additionally, the place has a large bar area with multiple tv screens for parties interested in sharing a drink and watching any game on TV! Now the food! The food experience was amazing! The food orders are made to share so the portions are quite large and is perfect for groups and larger parties. Secondly the taste of the food was beautiful. Every item my family ordered danced on top of my taste buds! My favorite order was the Sisig. It was one of the crunchiest and tastiest spoons of sisig I have ever put in my Filipino body. I also appreciate that the sisig was not as fatty as other sisigs. Less fat and more crunch made the dish perfect . Other dishes such as the Kare-Kare, Pancit and Lechon Kawali were just as tasty . Overall my experience at Dencio's was awesome and I would definitely visit again

We stayed at Taal Vista and this place is pretty much a stone's throw away. We could've just walked all the way here but the rain and grumpy kiddos is suggestion enough that we should just hop on the car. The whole restaurant is huge to begin with! And we were seated by the glass window overlooking the city lights below. Ambience alone was a solid 5 ! Food-wise, it's superb! My friend spoke so highly about their bulalo and she promised to take me to this place a year ago. In her own words "Josephine's has the finest bulalo in the country!". Those words aren't to be taken lightly especially coming from an exceptional physician! yeah, she's a doctor and she's about to to put me on a food coma. Lol! We ordered a good variety of dishes from the crispy kangkong appetizer to the mango shakes, then to the seafood platter, pinakbet and crispy pata, and then of course, the crowning glory of our meal - the renowned bulalo! I can say I can dance at each bite. Yeah, it was that good! Lol! And I had the "honor" of taking the precious bone marrow to kingdom come. Ha! Well, that one sure did push to my food coma! Lol! I pushed aside any health concerns and shoved that thing in my mouth with so much gusto! Haha! I promise I could've died happy that night. But I lived to tell you that story. So, go ahead and see and taste the wonders of Josephine's culinary marvel!
