Unlike the Dome, the badminton courts are actually a proper size, and the hall is well air conditioned, and you can nearly always get a court which also seems to be a problem at the dome. Its much cheaper and especially with a Champions sports pass (which the Dome do not accept)! . Unfortunately it can be a bit out of your way if you live near the centre of Doncaster.

The prices are very reasonable and the staff there will always do their best to accommodate you. The club is located in a small village so there are shops over the road to get a bite to eat after a good work out. I haven't played squash enough here to give it a fair enough review but I must say the tennis courts are of a relly good quality standard. I would say though to avoid going here when the kids from the school are playing (ring and find out i guess).

It…read moreis also the only gym I know of in the area that does a minimum contract period of just 3 months, so you're not tied down to a really lengthy contract if you stop going after a few weeks! As well as a huge indoor pool, steam room, sauna and jaccuzzi, there is also a gorgeous outdoor pool, indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 2 studios. The staff are always very friendly and helpful, and Katherine, who leads Body Balance on a Satudrad and Thursday at the moment is amazing - very positive and cheery! The gym has a good range of equipment and even during busy times there is usually only a very short wait for the most popular machines. I've given 3 stars because there are a few negatives to the club - One is the price. I know it is a lovely place, but it IS expensive. Second is the menu. This used to be lovely and I would often stay on after my workout for tea with friends. However, the menu was changed recently and is not a bit too health focused for my liking. The portions are ridiculosly small, for example fishcakes and salad only comes with 1 very small fish cake. The menu itself is actually quite grating too - it has a section entiled 'If you must...' under which are the chips! I think that's the only time I've been looked down on by a MENU! It's funny... but still patronising and irritating. Third is the classes. Whilst the instructors are (mostly) lovely, the variety of classes at the Hull club are not in the same leauge as other David Lloyd's such as Leeds which offers a wider variety of 'unusual' classes - Obviously they have to cater to what is popular, but just how many spinning classes does one gym need?! All in all I would say a great gym, with a few setbacks.

Clifton Park museum is free and worth a visit, there is crazy golf and tennis courts along with children's play areas. There used to be donkey rides and a paddling pool though I'm unsure if these still exist. A nice place for walking and picnics. It's also home to the Rotherham Show which takes place every September.

There's plenty of grass and park for running around, dog walking, picnics etc. There is also a museum on site and a crazy golf plus a couple of tennis courts to hire. There's a small funfair, but this is seasonal so doesn't operate in bad weather. Ticket prices are quite cheap but its definitely aimed at the younger children (under 12/14) Well worth a visit, can be quite popular at the weekends and the car park is small, but it's a great place to visit.

There is a small aviary (which is easy to miss as it is tucked away near the rose garden), a skate park (the domain of local youth particularly after dark), newly refurbished, lit tennis courts, crown green bowling and a massive open space where local events are often held. In common with many Local authority parks the equipment in the play areas has seen better days. In my opinion the main lack in this park is a nice cafe with out door seating
