A guy went round the shop with me talking about all the different tents and then when I chose one he actually showed me how to put it up in the shop! It was quite pricey but I think that's just the going rate for a decent tent that actually survives rain and wind! And I will be able to use it for years.

They do a wide selection of rucksacks, boots, clothing and accessories. The brands tend to be better than some of the more well known outdoor shops, and some can be expensive but there are regular offers you can drop onto. Customer service is excellent in the shop and the owners are always really friendly. Products we've bought from here have been very reliable and comfortable, and I'll certainly pop back in for more warm walking tops!

I wonder if the person took the trouble to contact the shop direct to point out the error. ( It may well be that the shop keeper is not as well informed on meal worms as the purchaser ?) While on holiday this year (2013) we visited this shop at least three times. As it happened we did not make any purchases at the shop even though there were many items that we we attracted too. In fairness their stock level and variety is among one of the best I have ever seen in a town the size of Pickering. At the same time even though we did, not as it happen, make any purchases we were given good advice. The person that served us was very knowledgeable on the items that we were interested in and the two attendants that we discussed products with were A) Civil and polite B) offered good product knowledge / advice. D) took the time and trouble to explain the benefits of the product we showed an interest in. We live in Dorset but will certainly re visit the shop when we next return to Pickering.
