Now this may come as a shock to my hoard of adoring fans but I do love my football. Yes people I am a girl of depth and a complex nature. Well that may be pushing it but I am eclectic at the very least. So if it's football you want then Elland Road is your main stage in Leeds. Gone are the absolute glory years of the 1970s and even more recent times of Champions League fixtures and Peter Ridsdale and his deep pockets. However, Leeds United are finally having somewhat of a revival and the optimism is there that the leagues will be climbed back up sooner rather than later. So the Whites still attract substantial crowds and will always have a die hard following. Maybe the supporters don't have the best reputation but you can't really moan about Elland Road as a venue. It's never going to be on a par with the new Wembley or other mass capacity stadia but for the division it's in it's top draw. Situated just outside of the city centre, it's just off the M621 giving drivers to the game good access. The bus routes are well planned, especially on match days and the actual on site facilities are pretty good. Can I suggest you eat before you get there though, unless you love soggy pies and over priced savoury snacks. Surely that's the same at most venues these days though. You'll also be able to get tickets on the day for the majority of games so you don't need to plan five years in advance for some live football action. That's not always the case, such as cup games, so do check before setting off. So grab your rattle (if you're stuck in the 1950s), white scarves and take plenty of passion down to support your local club.

I'm relatively athletic but for the life of me, I cannot play football. I've tried but I will leave…read moreit to the pros.. or at least those that aspire to become the next Ronaldo (or insert another great soccer player) which is where Goals come into play. The facility was packed with new teams rotating each hour. During my time in Leeds, I accompanied someone to the Goals Leeds facility and watched as 10 sweaty men played a game of "footie." As a spectator, I appreciated the clean bathrooms and cleaning facilities and the spacious seating area with what looked like a fully stocked bar. The flat screen televisions were also a nice addition. 6 pounds per player seems a bit steep to me but they all seemed to enjoy playing footie there. I wish I could comment on playing on the actual field, but as I mentioned, I suck at this game.

Goals soccer centre is a medium-sized complex in Kirkstall consisting of around sixteen 5-a-side…read morepitches and a couple of (what I believe to be) 7-a-side pitches. There is more than adequate parking at the facility, which is necessary as the centre's location dictates that most people will have to drive. Upon entering, you may well be impressed by the locker rooms which are spacious and usually very tidy. There is also a bar and seating area, which unfortunately, I have never used, but it looks to be very well furnished with comfortable chairs and flat panel televisions. Of course, the meat of any soccer centre is in its pitches. These are not very good. Smaller than a hard indoor court you might be used to playing 5-a-side on, the walls are also makeshift and as such, the ball doesn't bounce of them in quite the way you'd like - the football often ends up in the corners where a timewasting tussle ensues. The surface is a fake grass which lacks grip and also can cause some injuries; I myself have slipped and had all the skin taken off my knee from a very innocuous slide. The only saving grace is the larger pitches, which have much better sized goals and are roomy enough so as to avoid those ruffians who prefer to play physically rather than with finesse. Further, the prices are astronomical at Goals. £5 per person, per game at my last time of playing, is hardly worth paying and even more infuriating when you think that they make £50 from one group's game. Surely with that cashflow, you'd expect better.

So when I was setting up my tour, obviously I played Leeds on Monday, Bradford on Tuesday, and…read more.. duh... Sheffield Wednesday. A She-Field is basically a female version of a He-Field, and it's way better in every way than a He-Field. So now you know. Bell Biv Devoe. First-Hand Experience: I'm lucky enough to have seen Sheffield Wednesday live on 6 or 7 occasions, including in the very old days down in Oxford, and of course at their home stadium more recently. Which was very sad for me. This team is a brilliant team that is a giant of the English game. I have to separate them from their stadium which was a death trap and a heartbreaking place for any Liverpool fan. They were formed in 1867 and so are one of the oldest teams in the world. They're currently in the second tier but are a fallen giant, along with Sheffield United, and belong back in the big time as soon as possible. They were originally a cricket club which is kind of boring. The club played only on Wednesdays, hence the name of the team now. They play in boring blue and white. The Arctic Monkeys, Gary Cahill, Paul Carrack, Jarvis Cocker, Michael Palin, Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and Def Leppard all supposedly support the Owls. Yes they're nicknamed the Owls, how adorable. They have won the Premier League 4 times, in 1903, 1904, 1929 and 1930, so some really amazing pedigree there. They won the League Cup as recently as 1991 when they were still a top team, and they won the FA Cup in 1896, 1907 and 1935, so their trophy cabinet is definitely full and impressive. They've spent 66 seasons in the top division, but not since the year 2000, so hopefully they'll be back soon. The reviews here that are for the stadium need to be moved to the new stadium listing. They once beat Geri Halliwell 12-0. I'd rather join her than beat her. Chris Waddle, Des Walker, Marc Degryse, Paolo Di Canio, David Hirst, were a few of the legends here. Sheridan, Harkes, Wegerle too. Americans before Americans were cool. Just don't ever go and watch them on a Tuesday or a Thursday. It'll end badly.

If you've been to Hull and back, or to Hull in a handbasket, or if you think you're going to end up…read morein heaven and not Hull, then you might love this team. First-Hand Experience: I've seen Hull City (the Tigers) play live 3 or 4 times before they moved to the KC, and just once at the KC. And of course on TV many times, but in person just 4 or 5. They're one of my fave teams other than the teams I support. They play in shiny gold and it's a real shame they just got relegated. Their stadium is a palace, and their fan support is absolutely amazing. I love coming to the KC. I really hope they're in the Premier League again sooner rather than later. I certainly love them, even though they currently have Steve Bruce (yawn) (he has a big head) as their manager. Definitely one of the best teams in the country. Until recently they were the biggest city never to have top division football but that all changed when Hull got promoted under Phil Brown, and now again with Brucey. They are the Tigers, they have a controversial owner, and they play in yellow and black at the KC which holds 25k. They were formed in 1904 so they're brand new in football terms, and the mascots are Roary and Amber - two tigers who are siblings. They were runners up in the 2014 FA Cup and that is the only thing they've ever really accomplished, which makes them kind of pathetic, which makes me feel sorry for them and give them five stars. Plus they play in pretty colours.
