First-Hand Experience: The best thing about Doncaster Rovers are the fans. They are fantastic and loud and I love them. However the team itself is a little uninspiring and also the stadium is rarely full, despite the intense atmosphere some days, so I'll give them a solid 3. I've seen them play live here in 2011 and honestly I really enjoyed it. But still 3. Formed in 1879, this club is an honourable club with a nice new stadium. They also share their club with one of the most famous women's clubs. Their chairman is James Blunt, the singer, and he thinks you're beautiful. He smiled at you on a subway. You were with another man. They somehow were in the Championship recently but not anymore thankfully. They play in red and white hoops and in front of 15k. They've never finished above 7th in the second tier which is really an underachievement. They are rivals with Rotherham United, Scunthorpe United, York City and Barnsley. If you're ever in Doncaster, stay at The Caribbean.

First-Hand Experience: I'm lucky enough to have seen Sheffield Wednesday live on 6 or 7 occasions, including in the very old days down in Oxford, and of course at their home stadium more recently. Which was very sad for me. This team is a brilliant team that is a giant of the English game. I have to separate them from their stadium which was a death trap and a heartbreaking place for any Liverpool fan. They were formed in 1867 and so are one of the oldest teams in the world. They're currently in the second tier but are a fallen giant, along with Sheffield United, and belong back in the big time as soon as possible. They were originally a cricket club which is kind of boring. The club played only on Wednesdays, hence the name of the team now. They play in boring blue and white. The Arctic Monkeys, Gary Cahill, Paul Carrack, Jarvis Cocker, Michael Palin, Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead and Def Leppard all supposedly support the Owls. Yes they're nicknamed the Owls, how adorable. They have won the Premier League 4 times, in 1903, 1904, 1929 and 1930, so some really amazing pedigree there. They won the League Cup as recently as 1991 when they were still a top team, and they won the FA Cup in 1896, 1907 and 1935, so their trophy cabinet is definitely full and impressive. They've spent 66 seasons in the top division, but not since the year 2000, so hopefully they'll be back soon. The reviews here that are for the stadium need to be moved to the new stadium listing. They once beat Geri Halliwell 12-0. I'd rather join her than beat her. Chris Waddle, Des Walker, Marc Degryse, Paolo Di Canio, David Hirst, were a few of the legends here. Sheridan, Harkes, Wegerle too. Americans before Americans were cool. Just don't ever go and watch them on a Tuesday or a Thursday. It'll end badly.

I played a concert in Doncaster and then came here the very next afternoon, before my evening concert in Sheffield. The fans were much louder and more intense than I expected, and my friend that brought me (he owned the hotel where I was staying in Doncaster) turned out to be a rabid fan too. I absolutely loved every second of it, but if I'm rating it strictly on the facilities, then it's a 4. Just because it's not usually full and would be even more amazing if it could be packed every week. I've been to most UK & US stadiums, due to lifelong obsessions with travel, sport & especially footy (soccer to Americans). Born & raised in England, I followed Oxford United (hometown team) to stadia all over the country at away games, and later Liverpool (fave team) around. First-Hand Experience: I've seen Hull City (the Tigers) play live 3 or 4 times before they moved to the KC, and just once at the KC. And of course on TV many times, but in person just 4 or 5. They're one of my fave teams other than the teams I support. They play in shiny gold and it's a real shame they just got relegated. Their stadium is a palace, and their fan support is absolutely amazing. I love coming to the KC. I really hope they're in the Premier League again sooner rather than later. I certainly love them, even though they currently have Steve Bruce (yawn) (he has a big head) as their manager. Definitely one of the best teams in the country. Until recently they were the biggest city never to have top division football but that all changed when Hull got promoted under Phil Brown, and now again with Brucey. They are the Tigers, they have a controversial owner, and they play in yellow and black at the KC which holds 25k. They were formed in 1904 so they're brand new in football terms, and the mascots are Roary and Amber - two tigers who are siblings. They were runners up in the 2014 FA Cup and that is the only thing they've ever really accomplished, which makes them kind of pathetic, which makes me feel sorry for them and give them five stars. Leagues are on every night with various levels, as well as pitches that can just be rented. Prices have crept up quite slowly in the past few years. Bar is good, with bar staff usually very friendly. Can be hired out for parties. Parking is not bad, but does get a bit crampt at the peak times through the week.

It's not quite even, one stand is enormous, the other three are medium sized, so for that reason and for seeming so lopsided, it only scores 4 despite an amazing amount of crowd support here. It's an intimidating place to play or see an away game. It used to be called the Old Peacock Ground, and with 38k people squeezing into it, is one of the largest stadiums in the country, especially for non-Prem grounds. It was built in 1897 and renovated many times. It has hosted Euro 96 tournament games, England games, and FA Cup Semi Finals, plus performances from rock bands Queen, U2, Happy Mondays and more recently, the Kaiser Chiefs and Rod Stewart. But the show must go on, so in the name of love, understand that this is how it feels to be lonely, if you don't understand then I predict a riot, and Maggie May start it.
