Im only in the general dating pool. Something does not feel right. I was told I was a potential for two specific "vip" men over a year and a half, but then nothing. No set up to one person. I was even told we have so many great people in our database, so don't worry if you don't match as a free member. But in 1.5 years not one intro and no follow up after supposedly introducing me privately (through my profile) to 2 men that I was supposedly a fit for? I've never been invited to a mixer or anything like that. I'm not exactly a loser, so it's just not making sense. Total waste of time, and if what some of these reviewers are saying is accurate, makes sense. Very unprofessional and seems to be about image and fluff. TL;DR: the Link & Drink networking mixer that I attended earlier this month greatly exceeded my expectations my expectations and introduced me to great people whom I never would have met otherwise. Another matchmaker put me in touch with Amy when she found out I live in the Bay Area. I didn't know what to expect when I was invited to Amy's Link & Drink event at the Rosewood Hotel--I've never been to a networking mixer like this one, let alone one to celebrate twenty years of matchmaking success. I know as many of them to reach out to me and want me to be part of their network, etc. The pitch is generally the same, the execution is the same, etc, etc. Some of these services work in volume (think Tawkify) and others are truly bespoke. Most are really there to sell a dream to people as priority one and deliver results as priority two. Amy is different. Amy has a large barrier to work with her (which is a good thing). This barrier is a very exhaustive questioner, an in-person interview, continued follow-up on status, and taking the entire process seriously. This weeks out the lurkers and the individuals that do not take the service seriously. It also weeds out those who don't know what they're looking for. While the terms of my agreement with Amy are confidential, I will tell you that Amy is worth every penny you invest in her services. She combines one of the most extensive networks of anyone I know, the uncanny ability to find the right match, and a sincere dedication to the art and science of top-level matchmaking. She is a master businesswoman and knows how to break down barriers to truly find the needles in a haystack. She doesn't expect her clients to settle to match what she can find, she excels to find partners that match the expectations of her clients...and her clients are of the pickiest, most discerning, and high profile of the bunch. I attended the "Linx Networking" event at the Rosewood Hotel & Spa and was not very impressed. The venue was great but traffic was snarled by Vice President Biden visiting that day and shutting down 280. When I got there Amy did not recognize my name or introduce me, I was shoved to the girl next to her and she asked my name on the list. When I did not give her a business card she asked for a donation for further events? Gee how do I know someone does not pocket the cash for gas money? Then there was the line for drinks with the staff stumbling over themselves trying to take orders and get cash for change. I had two guys cut in front of me without ever making eye contact. Not a very friendly crowd I thought they were a bunch of actors with no speaking parts. Amy, you need to have some kind of ice breaker or something to get the party started....sorry. read more
