I worked primarily with Yasmine, the head matchmaker, though I know she has assistants utilized for coaching programs and other matchmakers for recruiting. I probably have the most unique story of all of Yasmine's clients. I initially reached out to her as she is a fellow Stanford alum. After a brief call, I signed on to her smaller matchmaking program. It was a mini program that allowed me to explore matchmaking without committing to the time and energy for a more intense program. First: I had a remarkable date with a gentleman Yasmine matched me with immediately. He was fit, funny, and handsome. We opted to do an activity date with mini golf followed by wine and small bites at a romantic venue For our second date we went on a picnic. He did the shopping, the cooking, the plating, and treated me like an absolute queen. It is hard to find men like that in our 50's! While we did not hit it off, I knew that dating men though Yasmine's mini service was helping me shift my priorities to take dating more seriously. A year later I signed on to Yasmine's more intensive program. Almost a month after that, I met this handsome, intelligent and very kind man at a get together. It was just a night out with my friends. ** Two different judges have ordered Yasmine to repay a combined $17,500 in the past 3 months** I have previously posted about my experience with Yasmine, but the information was becoming stale and less-relevant, so I removed that post in favor of this more concise statement regarding the same experience. Today was my long-awaited court date with Yasmine to compel her to pay the refund required by our contract, and I won. The judge ordered her to pay me $9,000. To make the backstory as brief as possible, Yasmine and I contracted in July 2022 for 5-6 matches in 14 months. I initially liked her and do think she has some good matchmaking skills but had the sense that she was overscheduled. She provided 2 matches in the remainder of 2022, but throughout all of 2023, the matches she offered were often well outside of our agreed-upon parameters, had grainy/distant/sunglasses-only photos, and in at least two instances were actual catfish. Her communication also dropped off with various excuses such as "emailing the wrong Erika," falling ill, or having "lost her voice" and unable to talk on the phone. Even still this was not a big problem. I was patient with her, mostly because she had already collected a substantial fee from me, but I was also busy myself. However, when 2024 came around, I reached out to her multiple times for simple updates with no answer. Then when an entire month went by with no word from Yasmine, I decided she was either too busy or simply not interested in working with me and asked for a refund, and she agreed. All still not a problem! We had cordial negotiations to start, but things deteriorated rapidly when we could not agree on the refund amount so at that point I figured the best option was to let a judge decide. And that he did to the tune of $9,000 in favor of myself. I am happy for the folks who have had good luck with Yasmine recently. I'd like to think the experience with me inspired her to improve on her self-admitted lacking communication skills. However, to anyone considering hiring Yasmine today, I suggest you consider the following: Although required, her business is not registered in the city of San Francisco or the State of California. This means that there is no official mailing address on file to accept service of process. If for whatever reason you and she are not a good fit, ask yourself: how will you get your refund if there is nowhere to serve court papers? She lost to me today, and this review is about my experience only, but there are *public* court documents available with similar stories - in particular one in Nov 2025 where Yasmine was ordered to pay $8500. I came back to this Yelp page so that I could give my friend Yasmine's information and saw some of the reviews below and felt the need to chime in. I was a former client of Yasmine's. Yes, I did have to pay upfront and then have to have a photoshoot for better photos. I did not meet my current partner from an introduction with Yasmine, but I did meet my current partner because of her coaching. I met high quality singles from Yasmine that were NOT on apps or any other form of online dating, which I greatly appreciated. All of my matches were highly educated, white collar, handsome, polite, and very cool dudes even if there wasn't a spark. I'm sure Yasmine can confirm for herself - I wasn't really feeling them and I don't think the men were feeling me beyond a physical level. Yes, I was a client that Yasmine could not find that "love spark" for. I felt very discouraged and even took a break from dating while working with Yasmine. We are both now in our late 40s and meeting in our early forties was the deadline for having children and nothing short of miraculous that Yasmine made it happen. Two of the three matches that Yasmine found for me were close. The process of working with her and the timeliness was not great. At times she seemed very frustrated with me and made me feel as if I was being difficult. There were often long gaps without hearing from her. I signed to work with Yasmine in December (2018). Then we went back and forth about photos for a long time. She wouldn't start the search without the right photos. I sent her a ton. She didn't like any of them. She had a difficult time telling me what exactly needed to be different about them. Then I hired a photographer, but Yasmine said she didn't like the woman's aesthetic. So I had to hire another. That got us all the way until March (2019). I didn't actually meet my first match until May (2019.) As I was meant to have 5 matches, Yasmine extended the contract (I think it was initially 6 months) . This was great, but I was out of town for the summer and had planned on the contract being fulfilled before then. I returned to the city in August and had a match in October (2019). That didn't pan out. The next match I had wasn't until in January (2020). I didn't hear from her again until March (2020), when she sent me a profile of someone who did not meet the criteria she and I had come up with together. She agreed and said she would keep looking. I heard from her again in May (2020), but was again out of town for the summer. I haven't heard from her since then. Never once has she mentioned about how far outside the timeline this has gone. I do think she has skill in matching certain types of people. But the procedures and communication piece were mucky and awkward. read more

I love Yasmine!! Having worked with Yasmine and two of her amazing and beautiful coaches, Iberia and Rebecca, at Skilled Attraction, I feel so much more confident and prepared going into a date now than I ever have before. For me, I'd say where I struggled the most was in reading my date and knowing whether or not she's interested and also knowing how to confidently express my interest through body language, eye contact, verbal cues, and touch. During our 1-on-1 sessions, Yasmine gave clear instructions on different techniques to try and went in depth in her evaluation on areas I did well and areas in need of improvement. It was amazing for me to hear what the dating experience was like on the receiving end. It really allowed me to get a clear and detailed perspective on how my actions were received and also offered opportunities to reach outside of my comfort zone. Yasmine is INCREDIBLE! I am so grateful for her guidance and intuition, and what I can only describe as a "magical" service! It started in Winter of 2016 - I had a "bridget jones" moment. I've never written reviews before, but feel obligated to post this one. Yasmine was very pleasant and complimentary when we first spoke and offered attractive promises before I signed up. I paid Yasmine $3600 for 5 dates over 6 months. A month and a half later without a pipeline, she tried to talk me into meeting someone who was still married. I didn't agree to do so. Three months into it, I only got one date that I knew wouldn't work even before I met him. I mentioned it to her, but she insisted that I meet him because she had made arrangements. When we discussed it afterwards, she said that I could get a refund if things don't work. That was comforting and later turned out to be the peak of my experience working with her. Afterwards, she became more diligent and sent me profiles of a few people who clearly wouldn't be matches. At this point, I knew that her supplies and skills were not as strong as her claims, so I asked for a refund. That's when things changed. She didn't want to give me a refund but wanted to do a second search. After a long call, she finally agreed. About a month later, she only offered to refund a disproportionally small amount. So after 6 months, all I got was this one very expensive date that I didn't even want to meet. A brand-new iPhone Xs 512GB plus a 12.9-inch iPad Pro together are still cheaper than what I paid to Yasmine for nothing. If you think this was just a hit or miss and I was just unlucky, check out the last email she wrote to me. "Saying you want to resolve things amicably and then threatening me with further action? Ok - you are welcome to take any action you like. I am under no obligation to offer you any refund. This communication style reflects very poorly on you. FYI I am also under no obligation to keep you or your behavior confidential and will not hesitate to defend myself if you spread falsities." Maybe half or less of the norm? - I was matched once a month - I got feedback, she planned my dates, listened and delivered each time! But what I most appreciated about Yasmine was her intuition. I am posting this review because my wife (yes, that's correct, my wife - https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/29/fashion/weddings/dora-rivas-jay-kim.html) and I are so indebted to Yasmine for introducing us about a year and a half ago. I cannot imagine it always works out quite as magically and quickly as it did for us, but I can say without hesitation that whether you are someone who is open to a long-term committed relationship or just looking to spark your dating life by trying something new, or anything in between, you should give Yasmine a call. I had never tried online dating and always preferred meeting women organically, through set-ups or meeting in bars. As my friends got older and had families, I wasn't being set up as much. And as I got older, I wasn't going out to bars as much. I was also relatively new to San Francisco, and so I thought I would give an off-line matchmaker a try. Yasmine's Yelp reviews were mostly very positive, but I actually hired her because I was impressed that she cared enough about her business and what people were saying about her that she responded thoroughly, with a mix of thoughtfulness and feistiness, to the few negative reviews that were here. I had a couple of phone calls and a FaceTime call with Yasmine where she got to know me and what I was looking for. I found her to be approachable, lively and easy to talk to. She was professional but friendly...which I imagine is a balance that is important to strike in the matchmaking business. Three additional specifics that were impressive to me, both at the time and in hindsight: 1. She doesn't just tell you what you want to hear. She was upfront about telling me that women of a certain age were too young for me if I was interested in a serious relationship. 2. She's running a business but is not just looking to squeeze every last dollar. My now-wife looked into hiring Yasmine, but after consultation, Yasmine agreed with her that the right next step was not for her to take her money, but to put her into her database of potential matches. 3. She's truly looking to make the right match, not just engaging in a volume game and hoping something sticks. It took her about a month after I hired her to match me with someone...and that someone turned out to be the love of my life. In any case, my first date with my now-wife was 4+ hours...which is saying something because I'm not that talkative. Within a couple months, we were in love and traveling to Europe together. Within 7 months of meeting, we were engaged. And a little over a year after we met, we were married. I say simply and without equivocation that this was the best money I have ever spent. My agreement with Yasmine was that she was to set me up with a minimum of six women...and it turned out she only set me up with one -- the perfect one. So I actually cannot speak to the entire process of working with Yasmine, given our interaction was relatively brief. But whatever mix of intuition, experience and algorithm went into how she matched me with the love of my life...it worked like magic. read more

RESULTS after 5 months: I really wanted to like the owner. Unfortunately, her resistance to working closely with the client after the sale is a 'working' paradigm doomed from the start. It was a complete waste of over $2,200 and precious time over the course of 5 months. Clients do not get to see their matches! You read that correctly....not until the actual first date and THAT counts as a Match. She's under the false impression that based only on a Skype video chat that she will get to know you enough to match you, then winnow down the results from there. She also completely missed on several other key points. Moreover, her database of matches appears to be disproportionately filled with her friends, not recently discovered matches...or she makes basic mistakes in vetting the match. The other unfortunate aspect of her service is you can't talk to her once she has your money. (sporadic) Email only!...and although she promises 'touching base' every 2 weeks, you can go a month and not hear anything from her. This would have been fine if she could have delivered one single match that actually clicked but she ultimately failed on all of her claims. What would have made this so much more effective (since her interviewing is clearly not thorough enough) is to send photos of the proposed match to the client for review. This would help both the service and the client get what they want so much faster, but I suspect that she feels she would have to work harder in the event that the client doesn't like what he sees. Yet, laughably, she shares the clients photo(s) with the match! This is the 'shield' she uses with her Skype interview - as if THAT would capture everything she should need to provide you with a finite set of matches. It doesn't work. I also gave her a considerate opportunity to own up to her shortcomings in the matches and she (of course) disappeared - with my money and time spent trusting her 'service'....and then sent a vitriolic response - days later. Shame and sham. Overall, she was embarrassingly unprofessional. (Expensive) lesson learned. Stay away from this fly-by-night "business". It cannot survive with this work ethic and you do not want to waste your time and money. If this Millenial wants to do well in America, they would do well to heed the tried and true American business axiom, "the Customer is always right". Learn it and you may prosper. read more

I spoke with Jasmine on texts at first, she sound nice, but then seem judgmental. We had texts conversation for a phone interview, then we made an appointment once for phone interview, but I totally forgot/missed the time for interview, and I told her sorry I forgot, I got a new puppy and took lots more work than I thought. Then I was asking which day is good for 2nd phone interview appointment ? We didn't confirmed what day, I just was giving her when my available days that week, then since we didn't confirm, I gave her option how about Saturday is better for me too. Then she replied me, told give me red flag. Idk whats her problem, I thought a life coach and matchmaker should be helpful for busy people, also understanding situation instead pushing away. So un-friendly, sound like easy to get trust issues, and judgmental. read more

Please look elsewhere. I paid a full subscription fee and received one date, found my husband through another connection, and was promised a refund by Ms. Ashuraey for unused services. After several email discussions about my request, I was instructed I had to wait until a new customer signed up to receive it. After 7 months of waiting and regular requests, a refund was never received so I hired a lawyer to send a formal letter and hired a PI to locate Ms. Ashuraey to serve documents for a small claim. What was discovered was that Skilled Attraction is not a registered business in California and a judgement had occurred between another customer and Ms. Ashuraey in Santa Clara Court for not paying a refund. What was equally upsetting in this process was the unprofessional email and verbal responses once formally requesting funds to be returned (that follow the statements outlined in the Terms and Conditions in the PayPal contract). It's been over 13 months since my initial request for a refund from Ms. Ashuraey which has yet to be received. I recommend finding assistance elsewhere. read more

Although I am not a client at Skilled Attraction, I recently went on a date with one of their clients. I guess that would make me the match. I had never heard of "professional matchmakers" and was a bit apprehensive when they reached out to me. After talking with Yasmine on the phone I was more at ease. She took the time to get to know me and what I was looking for. She was also very upfront & direct about the process, which was very simple. Yasmine is phenomenal at matchmaking!  She also happens to be a very nice, highly professional individual which made this whole process seamless.  Absolutely seamless.  I tip my hat to her as does my significant other in absolute gratitude.  She likely saved us years of therapy and searching.
