As parents, we knew it was time to find someone new when our daughter's anxiety and depression rapidly increased over the summer. Our daughter refused to go anywhere. But it had to be done. With a little research, we found board certified Family Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Shelley Byrd. Making an appointment was easy. Her office is located inside a Yeager building. You haven't experienced a stimulating environment until you've entered a Yeager building. Meeting Ms. Byrd was refreshing. First impressions meant everything to our daughter. She is young (anyone near 30 is young to us, lol). She is uniquely in touch with this generation and understands their stress. A huge plus for us. Our daughter definitely has a connection with her. Finding someone she could trust was so important. The dialogue between them is open, honest and upfront. And at each appointment, they set mutual goals together. And of course, educating me on her diagnosis and treatment plan is always part of the conversation. We've been under Ms. Byrd's care for over two months now and our daughter is on board and cooperating. Ms. Byrd's clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults with a broad spectrum of psychiatric disorders. I encourage you to call and ask about how she can help with your situation. I'd also like to mention her multitasking office manager Nurse Leslie. She is "Wonder Woman". I met with her 3 times and each time had to explain why I was pursuing DBT therapy. I went through my borderline issues that were exceptionally relevant to DBT. She kept asking me why I was pursuing DBT in each session. Each time I answered saying we talked about x, y, and z. Each time she asked me to reexplain these. She acted like she never heard them before. She was either not interested in me or truly can't remember from week to week. She likewise, told me on 3 occasions that she reached out to my Psychologist and that they "haven't been able to sync up their calendars yet." This was a flat out lie. I discovered this when I spoke directly to my Psychologist and asked her about Trish Beach. My psychologist confirmed that she has never been contacted by Trish Beach. My psychologist was finally sent a consent form after my last session with Trish Beach. Trish still didn't reach out. My psychologist had to reach out to Trish to have a conversation. Stay away from Trish Beach LPC. She can't remember prior discussions, seemed genuinely disinterested in me from the first meeting, and flat out lied to me 3 times. You can do better with just about any other therapist.

Tricia was my therapist for over 3 years and a teacher in the DBT skills group I attended. She got me to confide with her and gave me steps to help me, but then in a state of crisis I was in....dropped me in a cold and mean manner (told me that she no longer wanted to be my psychologist) I paid out of pocket somewhere close to $15,000 or more dollars seeing her and then she drops me after 3 years. Please know, that the only way to have sessions with her is virtually, which is another hindrance. I was extremely vulnerable and was in search of why I was failing at life. As sessions with Dr. Lambert went on, I was able to gain a deeper understanding into who I was, why I was attracting certain people in my life and why I continued to make decisions that manifested the same results. Dr. Lambert challenged me to change my perspective and put forth some serious effort to change my life. Within THREE MONTHS of seeing him, I bought my first home. Within the first TWO YEARS of seeing him, I was promoted twice at my job, lost 40 pounds and got engaged. I actually walk away from each session with a sense of empowerment and an eagerness to tackle life's next hurdle. Although I have come a long way since 2015, I continue to see him on a semi-weekly basis for "maintenance". I enjoy our talks, which have become an equal part of my routine as going to the gym or watching the sunset during an evening stroll through my favorite nature reserve. I see Dr. Lambert as more of a friend and a mentor than I do as a therapist. He is a much-needed source of knowledge and support as I continue with life. It is because of Dr. Lambert that I have been able to get back to the basics of enjoying life, building meaningful relationships and loving myself. Not only has he been a major influence, Dr. Lambert lives by example. I've had the experience of seeing his office grow in terms of space, team members and eventually to a new location. The culture of his staff has always been focused, friendly and professional.
