This tour made me so happy. Kevin and Russ were enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and their passion (and…read morenerdiness) for the public arts was infectious and endearing. I'll never walk over another hatch cover the same again. I'm excited to go home and see what's beneath my feet there. I would highly recommend this off the beaten path tour to anyone and i'll be happy to do it again the next time i'm back in Seattle. Thanks guys!

I am always looking for low cost, less formal ways to learn about places I either live in or visit…read moreand have done many free tours both in Seattle and while traveling. I learned about this tour from a friend and I think it's fairly new. At any rate, interesting tour. Not your typical here's the city and these are some of the landmarks and here are some fun facts. The difference is this tour was focused around the public art that can be seen everyday along the streets and sidewalks, built into the infrastructure, in the form of manhole covers or hatches as they are referred to. The folks conducting the tour included information of the various artistic manhole covers, combining it with first hand information from the artists and discussed the history of the work and how it fits into the identity of Seattle. They also provide information on the history of the city and how Seattle became the city you see as you take the tour. Pretty neat concept exploring aspects of the city that folks often take for granted as they pass by. Another fun fact about this tour is that it evolved out of an art project. I thought that was particularly interesting. Some of the prints, etc are pretty cool and again not what you would typically expect or encounter from one of these free tours. I'd recommend this tour to anybody to who wants to learn more about the history of Seattle, who appreciates public art or art in general and who has a free hour or so on a Saturday morning.

Went on the Seattle free walking tour on a Saturday. I have been on many free tours as a way to…read moreget to know a new city and was hoping this would be similar. Unfortunately my friend and I found the tour rather boring. The leader (cannot recall his name) initially shared some interesting history, but we actually saw very little of the city. We spent way too long at some of the 'stops' listening to the guide's stories, but we got tired of his 'jokes' and just didn't find it very engaging. The tour could have been 1 hour... 2 hours was way too long.

https://seattlefreetours.com/…read more We opted for two tours from Seattle Free Walking Tours, and both were entertaining, educational, and highly enjoyable! SEATTLE 101 Tour guide Joe provided an in-depth history of Seattle, with plenty of stops to showcase key points of interest. Joe was really personable, very funny, and offered a wealth of facts and info. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! THE MARKET EXPERIENCE TOUR Tour guide Curtis delivered a history and tour of Pike Place Market - and it is essential, because the place is huge. With so many twisty buildings, unexpected stairwells and hard-to-find areas this tour was as informative and helpful as it was entertaining. Next time you are in Seattle sign up for these tours!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Chef Tracy is an absolute rockstar. She kicked off the day with a walking tour of Pike Place Market, weaving in local history while introducing us to some of the best vendors and food artisans in the city. Thanks to her incredible connections, we got to sample fresh bites and meet the people behind the food. And just when we thought it couldn't get better--she got me in to catch a fish. Yes, a real fish thrown at me in the middle of the market with a crowd watching. Talk about pressure--but I caught it! We brought all the ingredients back to Atrium Kitchen, rolled up our sleeves, and cooked an incredible meal together. The vibe was relaxed but energized--everyone was hands-on and having an absolute blast. Dinner was next‑level. We had a private dinner inside Pike Place Market after hours--total bucket‑list vibes. As a vegan, I was blown away by the care Chef Tracy took with my meal. She prepared this salad, elegant broccolini-chimichurri (actually something fancier than plain broccoli) and perfectly roasted potatoes--they were even better than most vegan meals I've had at restaurants. The rest of the team raved about the halibut, ribs, and other dishes that looked absolutely amazing. If you're visiting Seattle--or even if you live here--Atrium Kitchen at Pike Place Market is a MUST-DO. It's perfect for team outings, special celebrations, or just doing something different and utterly memorable. Chef Tracy makes you feel like a VIP from start to finish. Absolutely 10/10!

We visit Seattle quite a bit so Pike Place Market…read moreis definitely not new to us, but we wanted an activity to do and since we both have never done a food tour before we thought, why not. Not only did we get to sample many different yummy "bites" within the market, we also got to learn about the rich history and culture of how the market came about. It gave me such a deeper respect for this place. Booking this tour is fairly easy to do online. On the day of you are to meet at the designated location to meet your guide. If there are any issues you can contact the owner Mark directly and they have a 100% money back if you're not satisfied. If this isn't good customer service then I don't know what is. Our guide for the day was Chip. Chip was friendly, funny, and engaging. You can tell he loves his job and is proud to share his knowledge about the market. He remembered all of our names and I felt this made it seem so much more personal than a tour. If there is a large group you will be provided audio headsets but since we were only a group of 6 that day we were able to hear him just fine without them. You can tell there has been a lot of thought put into this tour and I applaud the company for such a wonderful job well done. Not only were the bites we got to sample so delicious, they were a nice variety ranging from the the famous Pike Place Chowder to Elleno's Greek Yogurt to Texas BBQ to Mexican tacos to Paris-inspired crepes to fresh local and seasonal fruits, just to name a few. And let's talk about the servings. They feed a generous amount so that by the end of the tour we were actually full. Totally bang for your buck! This is a great activity for tourists and locals alike to spend an afternoon at the market. A nice plus is if you decide to come back and visit any of the merchants after the tour, you will receive a discount. If you're reading this then do not wait any longer! Go reserve a tour now!
