I have been here before in the summer to enjoy their outside dining. Today was a super cold day and friends and I met up to enjoy dining inside. Shrimp po'boy and California wrap were very good and served with your choice of several sides. Good portions and tasty! I had ordered the soup of the day (broccoli cheddar) and unfortunately it was very salty (to me) and I couldn't eat it but the company and surroundings were awesome! Came here with on Father's Day last week. Lots of families on the picnic tables and closer to the beach. We were still able to find seating at the bar. The drinks were great. The bartender I can't remember her name, blonde hair, was very attentive and helpful. My friend ordered a burger. It was a good size patty and the fries were fresh and crisp. I ordered the fish tacos. Which I knew were deep fried. Which is usually not my preference. I figured since it was a busy day. I wouldn't ask if I could get it grilled. One taco had just one piece of fish. Almost like a fish fillet. they were both soggy, and when I picked them up with the corn tortillas, they fell apart. They lacked a little spice. I probably should've asked for some pico de gallo. If I were to order them again, I would see if I could get them grilled. My friend was interested in the Panko deep fried deviled eggs. They were terrible. I had half of one of the half eggs. . There were five egg halves on the plate. It looked like they had previously been deep-fried and reheated possibly? The Panko was around the egg white, which was tough and rubbery. The deviled egg part actually wasn't too bad. A spicy blend of your typical deviled egg.We would not order again. We mentioned it to the bartender and she apologized. This is always a beautiful place on Bangs lake. The inside has a nautical theme. Slightly upscale, but still friendly. I've been here for brunch. Quick take: Decent Food. Very Good Service. Picturesque Setting. Pricy. Full Review: My wife and I have been to Lindy's many times. Most recently we were here Saturday May 24, 2025 which happened to be Memorial Day Weekend. It was cool out (probably 60 degrees) but the full and intense sun made it a perfect day for dining alfresco. They offered tables on the deck, or in the sand, or indoors. We opted for a table in the sand (which was hands down the best option). The menu has a nice array of options. I ordered the Poor Man's Lobster Roll (shrimp instead of lobster). My wife had the Cali Wrap. Our meal was good, but a little overpriced. Having Bangs Lake as a backdrop made it a little more palatable. Lindy's is at its peak on days when they offer live music. The lakeside setting might elevate it from a three star review. If I could give it 3.5 stars I would. If you are in the area and looking for a relaxed lakeside vibe you might to give Lindy's a try. read more

Havent been there since the remodel. Tastefully done. Modern but gives off a beachy vibe. Sat in the bar for lunch. Wedge salad was decent size and had the perfect amount of topping and dressing. The sweet and spicy chicken sandwich was very good, not spicy, homemade chips were crispy, thick and good, but couldve used more seasoning. The negatives were the size of the sandwich was small, beers were expensive for happy hour and didnt need to hear the bartender regularly tell us she was a lesbian. Keep that to yourself. We loved this cute and historic restaurant. They were very busy and the service was friendly, attentive, and prompt. We ordered a draft beer, red sangria, bang bang shrimp bowl, and fish tacos. The sangria was strong and fresh. The bang bang shrimp was awesome and probably my favorite thing! The fish tacos were a large size and tasted very fresh, I just wasn't a fan of the avocado sauce that topped it. The side of Cole slaw was also excellent. I absolutely love this place. It has a beautiful view with a lake life vibe. Lindys is so pretty inside. The service is always great, quick & efficient. They always get my special orders correct. The food is amazing, from bar food burgers to upscale offerings everything is so good! Really good quality food. Lindy's Landing had a "ladies who lunch" old school atmosphere with views of the marina. The full menu offered a nice selection; however, we went for Sunday brunch, which had a limited menu. We thought our meal was ok, but not memorable. We had the beet salad, bang bang shrimp and omelet. The entree's were a little pricey and portions were on the smaller side. Our server was pleasant, but service was a little slow and the restaurant was not crowded while we were there. Will never go back. My girlfriends and I meet up once a month to catch up, and we've been to Lindy's several times for this. Every time we've gone, we've been asked to leave because "our time is up," even when there are plenty of open tables. I've never experienced anything like that at any other restaurant. The food isn't great, and when I emailed the manager about our experiences, I never received any response--not even an acknowledgment. We spend a lot of money there between food and drinks, and we've been loyal monthly customers. To make matters worse, one of my girlfriends went back recently with another couple and again was asked to leave for the same reason. At this point, we will never go back. We came in on Sunday with a group of 14 family members for my mother's 80th birthday. Lindy's is a restaurant that both my family, and my sister's family have been going to for years (since 2005 for my sister). It seems that not only has the food gone downhill, but so has everything else!! The amount of flies that were near our table while we were eating was absolutely disgusting. Came here for the first time with my parents because they really like this place, and it did not disappoint. I love all of the bars in Wauconda because there are so many waterfront ones; however, for ambiance, this one definitely beats the others. It's definitely one of a kind with having its own beach. Many young kids were playing with sand and building sandcastles near the water when we were there, and its cool that the restaurant has a closed off area in the water where customers are able to go in it. All of the picnic tables sit in sand, and there are cute, colorful chairs in some places not connected to those picnic tables. The restaurant also has kayaks and canoes hanging up near the fence by the water, and there is a dock, too! I did not try any food here because we ate before coming, but I ordered one of the tropical drinks from the bar called "Tipsy Mermaid". It's the blue drink and is made with rum, pineapple juice, blue curacao, and Sprite. It was amazing and definitely my type of drink. They also have other tropical drinks such as a frozen pina colada and frozen strawberry daiquiri. We didn't have service come to a table because we took our drinks from the bar and sat at the colorful chairs, but the bartender was nice and explained to me what the tropical drinks all were when I asked. The interior is so nice now that it has been redone. Super cozy in the evenings with the big fireplace in the center of the room. Or during the summer in one of the beachfront dining areas. We have also done the Santa breakfast (very nice and realistic) as well as the Easter brunch last year. They do take the time to do a nice job with special events! Unfortunately, a bad experience from the start. We were sat on time for our reservation but after 25 minutes, with no one coming to our table, we had to ask for a server. After waiting some more, a server came to our table. We ordered a round of drinks and waters for the table. The waters never came to the table and we had to ask again for the waters. The food was decent for the price. All and all I wouldn't go back. What was to be a relaxing evening with friends turned into wondering how long it would take to be served or if we would receive our drinks. read more

We went to Lindy's for an early NYE dinner with a party of six. The hostess was very nice, smiling, friendly and took us to our table (we had a reservation for Six people) The table was set for 4 not 6. There was food on the floor by the table from the prior party. We had to point it out to the hostess which to her credit did come and clean it up but left a French fry under one of the chairs. The waitress came, greeted us with a New Years greeting but zero smile. She was all business, no friendliness there. Three of our party had the Wagyu Beef/Lobster special. The portion was very small with 3-4 small medallions of beef and maybe 2 ounces of lobster in the meal. The food was room temperature at best. The coconut shrimp was excellent. Large tender shrimp with a light breading served with broccoli and rice. The sauce for the shrimp was a little spicy for my taste but not bad. The temperature of the shrimp was good but the rice and broccoli were both slightly warm. We also ordered dessert. We had the peppermint cheesecake. The cheesecake itself was very heavy, thick texture and dry (very hard to explain the texture but certainly not creamy). The crust was thick, dry and overpowering. Came here on a whim, and we were able to get in before the lunch rush. Though, the hosts didn't even acknowledge me until my bf came up after parking. They took a couple before me, even though I was already standing there first. Anyway, we sat on the beach, which was a bit smelly but understandably. The food was subpar, average at best. Bang Bang Shrimp was the best of the 3 items we got. Fajita Wrap was okay, a tad soggy and cheese wasn't eventful distributed (some bites were only cheese). The Mac and cheese was not cheesy and chicken was flavorless and dry. However, I'll admit we didn't only come for the food. Beautifully renovated restaurant next to the lake with reasonable prices, big portion sizes, and nice presentation. This is a good option if you want to have a more classy, but still casual meal in a relaxed atmosphere. The interior looks like a Viking Cruise Line Ocean Ship, with lots of nice pieces of art and different objects to add to the feeling of being inside a dock themed restaurant. The service was also friendly and fairly quick as well. I tried a few items on this trip. The rotisserie chicken was nice and crisp on the outside with fairly tender meat within. It wasn't really marinated much, with much of the flavor coming from the hickory wood smokiness of the chicken skin which worked surprisingly well. The mashed potatoes were quite creamy and flavorful while the green beans had a nice crisp to them. The bacon jam burger was fantastic, cooked to a nice juicy medium level. The combination of the bacon jam, white cheddar, and garlic bun created an intense savory flavor that gave it an addictive quality without being overpowering. The fluffy bun along with the crisp lettuce and firm tomato all created a nice bite with clear textural contrast between the different elements. I also enjoyed the sweet potato tots which were semi-soft with a light crisp. It had more sweetness than I was expecting and a good level of fullness to each bite without feeling too earthy. The cookie skillet was alright for me, I feel the cookie may have been too molten and when combined with ice cream, syrup, and whipped cream - may have resulted in just feeling overall a bit mushy. With that said, the flavor was still good, but I would've preferred the cookie to be a bit more firm in relation to the other elements. Overall I enjoyed my food and my visit here and would return again. On my visit however, my party and several others were not able to get a table since we did not have a reservation. During the course of the evening I did observe a good number of tables that were vacant for long periods of time and wonder if everyone could have been accommodated if seating had been managed differently. read more

MAKE RESERVATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!! That's my biggest recommendation for Lindy's Landing. They haven't figured out how to efficiently seat people and this will save you a lot of frustration. We met a friend for dinner and didn't know that we needed to make reservations. We arrived at 6:00 on a Saturday in February. Since we didn't have reservations we were told that we would have to wait almost two hours to get a table. Instead we were shown to a lounge area. This is a great place to have drinks but this is not setup to serve food in. We noticed that everyone else in this lounge area had food. The tables are too low and small to get more that one plate on a table. The chairs were were low to the ground and very uncomfortable. There was a very loud group of eight that was seated next to us. It made it difficult to hear the people at my own table. But the worst thing of all was that whenever I went to the bar or bathroom, I could see multiple open tables, while I felt like I was seated at the kiddie table. This room was not well lit and was very cold. There were two space heaters, which were mostly for show as they didn't heat the room at all. The food at Lindy's Landing was amazing. I had a bacon jam burger (8 oz. Angus beef patty, lettuce, tomato, bacon jam, white cheddar cheese, garlic mayo, classic bun), while my husband had the half rotisserie chicken (Seasoned hickory smoked half chicken, mashed potato, seasonal vegetable). The burger came out juicy and cooked medium, exactly as I asked. The burger had a wonderful taste but I feel that their are too many flavors on this burger. The garlic mayo was too flavorful and I couldn't taste the bacon jam, which should have been the star of the entre. I upgraded to the sweet potato tots for a side. This was a wonderful sweet treat cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy and the skin had a crispiness to it. I wish that the chicken had been seasoned a little more. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans as a side. The mashed potatoes also could have used some more seasoning. The green beans were crisp and warm. For dessert. we wanted to try the cookie skillet . The skillet they served us was beyond too hot and was actually dangerous. I tried to hold the plate so that my cookie wouldn't slide around and burned my thumb on the skillet. I now have a blister on my thumb from this experience. The cookie was very thin but the generous amounts of ice cream and whipped cream and chocolate syrup made up for this. Lindy's Landing is located on Bang's Lake and is really meant to be enjoyed during the summer. They have their own marina and seating triples when outdoor dining is available. Lindy's Landing is newly redecorated and the ambiance and atmosphere in the restaurant is warm and inviting. The experience was annoying and uncomfortable and dangerous despite the food being fantastic. I highly recommend the food, just not the restaurant. read more
