When we went, most of their coffee specials were sold out. They're also dairy free but why don't they advertise that? We had people after us also ask for dairy milk too. We ordered one of their spring lattes and a cortado and the barista asked "hot or iced" for the cortado. I don't think I've ever had an iced cortado in my life. When i got my regular cortado (hot), it was in a 10-12 oz cup (look at my picture of the cortado cup vs my medium latte) and don't get me wrong.. i do love that because it's huge but .. as a coffee roaster... y'all don't do the typical cortado size? It was weird to me. Like they just opened a coffee roaster/coffee shop but don't really know the coffee basics? The espresso shot pulled was also pretty sour. I don't think I've ever had a bad shot with a coffee roaster shop but this one is an exception i guess. Spring latte was also not good. Syrup was nonexistent in flavor and latte was watery. If you were to come here & want a hot latte, just order a hot cortado. You'd get more bang for your buck.

Guess I should let the staff know next time so that they didn't think I left as I had to go to the bathroom badly. I know it can be hard to tell if someone is leaving food for waste which I hate to do but it was also respectable quality too. I don't mean that in that loose, linguistic sense of like, "oh, that's the BEST" when you don't actually mean the true superlative. I mean that they had LITERALLY the best birria tacos I have ever gotten at any location. I've gotten them everywhere else in the area and nobody else does them quite right. Well, I'm pleased to say that the new location's birria tacos are identical. Absolutely superb. It's everything I missed from the old Frida's. Perfect, no notes. It's worth noting that the new spot is takeout only, as it is now nestled inside a gas station that's the living embodiment of a Twitter ad in 2024. There are glass cases of questionable, unregulated supplements, there are assorted CBD things, there are gambling machines, it's wild. You walk inside half expecting someone to pitch you on an MLM, a dubious self-help program, or a subscription to the Joe Rogan podcast. It's weird. But that's okay. You don't have to dine here. Just pick up your 10/10 birria tacos and enjoy them in the comfort of your own home. You'll be glad you did.
