Asher's chocolates has been in business since 1892. This makes them one of the oldest running chocolate businesses in the country. Asher's is still considered a family run business. They take a lot of pride in their products. The raw cocoa beans are made and processed at a plant not too far away, and the liquid chocolate is transported on a truck similar in size to a fuel tank truck to the production factory here in Souderton, PA. Very detailed and meticulous care is followed. From aseptic techniques to make sure all machines are impeccably clean to strict quality control measures to ensure consistency in the quality of each product. All shipments are sent out from the plant, all over the country. Careful supply chain management is followed to make sure every batch is freshly made before shipping. Asher's has a great reputation for quality chocolates. Very hard to compare to others on the market. You will always find Asher's at department stores and specialty confectioners. I personally love this brand, and I totally recommend you try some. I love the chocolate covered pretzels!!

Really fun place to visit. The tour is self guided. So you basically just watch different videos and look inside the windows is the factory. Nothing too great. But the candy....the candy is amazing. The pecan paws are probably the best candies I've ever eaten. Definitely worth a visit.

What a great surprise to come home too - Asher's Chocolates. My hubby brought us all kinds of yummy goodies to try and boy were they delish. If you are ever in the PA area and need a gift - totally try them out.

Absurd packaging for two 6.5 oz bags of chocolate covered pretzels.

I am assuming the chocolate is good, so 2 stars. For the irresponsible, environmentally unfriendly packaging, -1. I would not have ever ordered this if I knew I was going to end up with plastic bags, a large cardboard box, sheets of heavy duty bubble wrap, a large freezing bag, and a huge Styrofoam box. Two 6.5 oz bags of chocolate! I have ordered chocolate over the internet before and never had this kind of packaging.

Standard candies (most flavors look like this).

Asher's is a national treasure. I've had Belgian chocolate and chocolate all over Europe and Asher's is still by far my favorite

In addition to their signature housemade carmelcorn, the shop also specializes in popcorn, fresh roasted nuts, fudge, chocolates, gummies and old-fashioned hard candies. Richard Baskin purchased the shop from the Dohertys in 1985. He in turn sold the shop to husband and wife Tony and Sia Bassil in 1996 and they have owned it ever since. Sia had originally been hired to work behind the counter for the Dohertys in 1977, when she was just 14. She continued to work at the shop, on and off, for several years until she bought it with her husband. My family and I visited The Carmelcorn Shop this past summer while we were visiting relatives in the area. We were exploring Downtown Easton and noticed the storefront. It looked like a really cool place and we were shocked when we saw the sign that read "Since 1931". The shop is pretty small, but it has all sorts of novelty candies. The carmelcorn smelled great! We ended up getting some as well as some old-fashioned candies for our two boys. It's nice to know that there are still old-fashioned candy shops like this still in existence. If you're visiting Downtown Easton, then we recommend that you take a stop at the Carmelcorn Shop for a trip down memory lane.

She was there until the late 50's, had her five kids, and returned through the 70's and 80's. I always remember my Mom smelling like roasted nuts and carmelcorn when she came home from work. I always make sure I stop in when I return to Easton to reminisce with Sia and of course pick up some Almond Butter Crunch.
