Again, when I was first "pulled over" by a volunteer from them, I really wanted to just donate cash but they insisted on creating account. That hit my bottom line.

When I saw that I asked for a new Debit/Credit Card and thought it was resolved. 2 weeks later they took twice the same amount of $36 making me think that they are able to grab your bank details. DO NOT give money to this "charity." When I try to call to cancel a payment and see what's going on they NEVER answer the phone. And on their site there is no "Cancel" button, only says for me to call costumer service. My Bank is currently crediting my account for all the $36 removed by Save the Children. And they are being investigated for fraud.

I'm a big fan of the "Our Woven Community" program. It supports refugee women with opportunities to make and sell beautiful handbags, scarves and other items. I recently bought two tote bags as gifts for friends. The bags were lovely, unique, and each one included a biography of the woman who created it. My friends loved them! Our Woven Community doesn't have an official shop space in the Burroughs building, so I called ahead and when I got there the receptionist showed me bins full of items for sale. They also sell the products online and at craft fairs, farmers markets, etc. Half the proceeds go to the women directly, and the other half pays for supplies, equipment, and entrepreneurial skills training.

He also of course gave us an estimate and was very professional, suggesting we wait till mid to late summer when the soil around the house would be dryer and treatment would have the most effect. So last month I dug around and called some place trying to find a couple other estimates to compare. They came back at a fair price but what I found interesting is that most of the other termite treatment co's around here hawk "bait" stations as a "safe" and better alternative. Having moved from CA where learning all about termites is almost a requirement I knew this to be factually untrue. Bait stations are however a great way for those in biz to create a steady income source as they need monthly maintenance and over ten years are MUCH more expensive than using liquid trenching like Termidor. Anyway, bottom line is I highly recommend Austin and his crew.
