He's done senior portraits and most recently he did my wedding. Avalon is truly the best in the business. He always delivers stunning photos in a reasonable amount of time. Steve at Avalon struck me as extremely knowledgeable, as he was able to answer my barrage of technical questions with ease and confidence. It was clear that he has been doing photography for a very long time and really knows what he's doing. At some point, I had a phone conversation with another wedding vendor in Chico that made me call and book Avalon immediately after I hung up. This wedding vendor asked which photographers I was considering, and when I listed Avalon, she said that she had gotten married herself just the year before, and hired Avalon to do her wedding. As a wedding vendor in the area, she is familiar with many of the local photographers, and said that Steve is the best. So I called him right away to book him. I am VERY happy I did so! Steve at Avalon did my engagement shoot and wedding photos. For the services he offers, he is very affordable. The other photographer, Alicia, who helped shoot the wedding, also did an amazing job. They are both extremely kind people, and very professional. They had lots of tricks to get people to smile and laugh genuinely, and captured so many sweet and funny candid moments. Also, I can't say enough about the lighting--the lighting in the photos was incredible! They knew exactly where to position everyone down to the inch in order to work the setting to the best advantage. I have gotten so many comments from guests saying, "Wow--your photographer was so good!" or "They really knew what they were doing!" The goal of this review is to protect others from getting into a similar situation as my current--this photographer, Aurora, owner of Wild at Hart Imagery, having photos of me (and my friend) and not releasing them or responding to any form of communication. Not to mention the paid sitting fees, the time, the energy, the outfits, and the gas it took to drive to Magalia. All things I was willing to pay in exchange for high-quality photos. Unfortunately, Aurora didn't hold her end of the bargain. SHE NEVER SENT THE PHOTOS -- I was ready to pay several hundred dollars to have her edit the entire session of photos. Please execute caution before booking this photographer. Her website looks professional, and her photos are pretty -- her communication skills are sub-par, and, it's likely, you'll never see your photos. I wish I'd been warned, so consider this my warning. My heart is broken, these photos marked a milestone and were very sentimental to us, and unfortunately, there is nothing I can do to fix it. I have nothing to capture that moment in our life because Aurora decided we weren't worthy of communication and receiving our end product. It has been 5+ weeks since our photoshoot together -- maybe Aurora will see this review and finally respond to me.

It gives you the option to book more than one session per day without worrying about running out of time. The rate is also very affordable. One thing to note: There is over head lighting but I would suggest bringing your own lights to be on the safe side! I will definatly be booking agin with my next sessions.
