I have been to Janessa twice, so far! My first time was for maternity photos and the second time…read morewas for my baby's newborn photos! Both experiences with her went AMAZING! For my maternity photos she went above and beyond! This pregnancy was my last and it was a hard one like so many others experience. So I wanted maternity photos to remember and cherish. Janessa did just that for me! She got me the freshest flowers for props & even warmed up the water in the tub overnight to ensure I would not be cold in the tub during the session. Janessa even added in my fiancé to one of photos so unexpectedly. Which turned out to be one of my favorite photos from the session! She also got a great makeup artist for me last minute and he did such an amazing job as well. This was my first photo shoot ever so I went into the studio feeling extra nervous but Janessa made me feel super comfortable after talking with her. I left confident that my maternity photos would come out just as beautiful as I wanted. The photos definitely exceeded my expectations! The newborn shoot went great!!!! My baby LOVED Janessa. He slept through the entire session and when he would start to wake up, she knew exactly how to calm him back to sleep! I told her what I wanted as far as props and she put it all together very beautifully! He also had slight jaundice and she was able to edit that jaundice out! I'm so in love with his photos! I can't wait to book another session with her business in the near future! She definitely has me as forever client!

From the beginning, the communication seemed very strained and unwelcoming and I couldn't understand why.. It seemed as though every question I asked were inconvenient to answer and the responses I did receive came across curt. There was also a repeated emphasis on her offering a "luxury experience," which began to feel more like it was meant to convince me, than reassuring. Things went all the way downhill when I received multiple similar or identical text messages in a row on the same day. Assuming they were automated, I replied "STOP" (a standard command to end automated texts). Janessa then personally messaged me, insisting these were not automated but "curated by" "her team", and immediately offered me the chance to cancel and receive a refund. Before I even had time to reply, she canceled my session herself within minutes (8). And less than a month before my scheduled shoot date. The real kicker was that she claimed to have refunded my $500 deposit but never actually did. To add insult to injury, she blocked me on all platforms, leaving me no way to reach out, even if I wanted to. I ultimately had to involve my bank to recover the money. This entire experience was unnecessarily stressful, especially while pregnant. No client, (and certainly no expectant mother) should be treated this way. She should be ashamed. What could have been a meaningful, exciting session turned into an upsetting ordeal, forcing me to find an alternate photographer in less than a month. I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your maternity session. There are plenty of honest, reputable professionals with kindness, integrity, and compassion, qualities that make a far bigger difference than someone's self-promotion of a "luxury experience." Save yourself the stress and go to someone that is capable of getting off their high horse

Our first session together was my maternity shoot, which lead to our family shoots. She was so patient with our young daughter from our newborn session to now. (Our daughter is six.) The quality, lighting, and guidance in positioning in every session is worth the investment ten fold. She's quite talented in catching you in a "moment". I've been extremely happy with all the time she takes in making sure the final product is perfect. I have to admit that I've cheated on her a couple times for different reasons, like hiring a photographer on vacation in Hawaii and not being able to get to the Sacramento area - I live in Oakland. When I hired someone where I live the prices where astronomical and nowhere near as good as Meghan's quality. I've regretted ever straying from her every.single.time. Ugh. I've learned my lesson the (very) hard way. I'd highly recommend Meghan and tell people from the Bay Area that she is worth an hour and a half drive for a session. Our company provided an Indian Inspired Backdrop in a large tent for the Sangeet night and also to be kept up for the entire wedding week - Moroccan seating, a vintage Indian bench, pillows, cushions, jagos and other Indian Inspired items completed the event look!
