Caution: Amerigas requires a 3-year (36-month) service agreement when you purchase, or in my case,…read moreinherit a property that already has their rented tank on it. If you sell your property and need to cancel the rental agreement so the new owner can take over, you'll be assessed the entire $149.99 'early termination' fee. They then refuse to prorate a refund on the annual $250 tank rental fee, so you're out both that annual amount, and dinged an additional $150. Other service providers routinely prorate a refund when cancelling due to an ownership change -- car title, property taxes, etc. Mind you, Amerigas has received 48 years worth of tank rental income on the property; my guess is it's nearly $10K. I hate it when a corporation knows they have a captive customer, and in the fine print gets to screw you 'legally'. My advice -- learn from my mistake: if you inherit but know you're going to sell a property before 3 years is up, do NOT start a new contract with Amerigas -- just keep the old one in place, pay for propane as needed, and cancel after you sell. You'll save yourself $400.

Do not deal with these people if you don't have to. First off they try to cheat you when you order…read morepropane from them they won't bring it out after you pay for it, they don't care if you run out, though they say they do. They are very mean no matter if your are nice to them. I had to call P U C O because I am out of propane right now an its January an I paid for my propane 2 weeks ago. They will not deliver it an its paid for, and it sucks because I need propane. Please believe me you have to ask yourself What Is Wrong With These people! I mean this is a business this is how you treat your coustomers. I would hate to see how they treat thier family. Well P U C O is calling them today and hopefully I will have my propane. I really need it. I will post what happens next. Thank you for reading. This is such a serious matter.

I cannot say enough bad things about this company. I very rarely go online to rate a company in a…read morebad light, but this company is AWFUL! They told me for 2 years they would come out and paint my propane tank and they never did. When I decided to change companies, they overcharged me and even told me they overcharged me and then will not revise the invoice to the correct amount. I asked them over and over again for a revised invoice but instead of sending that to me, they sent me to collections!!! I am paying this stupid bill to be done with this company, but there are a lot of propane options and this is by far the very worst!

I was very disappointed with the service I received from this Amerigas store. I needed a 20 pound…read moretank refilled and an 11 pound tank recertified and filled. Recertification needs to be done by a qualified technician so I needed to find a location that could perform this service. When I called the store, the person who answered the phone told me I'd have to leave the tanks overnight because they don't have a dock worker. The guys on the routes do the tank work at the end of the day when they come in from their routes. I asked if there was a location that was closer to me in Medina that would not require two trips and was told that there wasn't. I drove to the store and left the tanks. When I arrived, a different person than the one I spoke with on the phone told me there is a store in Akron that could have filled and recertified the tanks and did not require an overnight. When I returned to pick up the tanks the next day they had not been filled or recertified. The person in the office called a worker to come in to do the work, but was told it would be at least an hour before he would arrive. I took my tanks and headed to the Amerigas in Akron. I received outstanding service there. Don't go to the Amerigas store on Royalton Road in Columbia Station. This place should not even be in business. The person who answers the phone is clueless.
