The old version of the mall was good as it grew with time growing up with it. The store just got better and replaced with no better stores and more high-end stores. There's a really big food court and a POP MART, which I love and a part of the mall where they have regular retail stores stuff and not just high-end stores.

I think the most prevalent thing I've noticed is how there are a lot of entertainment options now. Dave and Busters was the first to open, followed by Level 99. Now there's also a Puttshack and a Bosee Pickleball club. I think this adds a layer because it turns into "just a mall" to a social gathering spot where you could shop, eat, or have fun. There's something for all ages with this. Now when it comes to the shopping, there's still your average clothing stores, there's beauty and jewelry stores like Sephora and Pandora, and also a Macys if you want a department store. There's also a wing with more high-level luxury stores, like a Zara, Louis Vitton, Tiffany, and David Yurman. I think this area is nice if you want luxury but not to travel into Boston. There's a lot of empty stores in this wing too so hopefully they get filled soon. Food options are good too, they have a food court, Cheesecake Factory, P.f. chang's., California Kitchen pizza, and the food inside of the entertainment places too. Overall this mall has been renovated a lot, and I think for the better. It encompasses a lot and you don't have to come here just to shop, but you can if you'd like. I will say though they have plenty of parking which includes free garages, people are still unkind around the holidays and you might be circling around for a while before you find a spot. Parking is always hard here no matter what and I know people who avoid this mall because of it, which is sad but I get it. I heard if you come on a weekday morning it's better.

Commonwealth Ave also has excellent bus service. The shopping center is anchored by a large format Star Market but also has one full bank branch, one smaller ATM-only bank branch, a bagel shop, a cleaner and a hair salon. There's plenty of parking. When I was here, the lot was well maintained with no litter visible. There is one entrance and one exit for Commonwealth Ave. It does not have a turn lane for those crossing traffic.

The Newton Highlands area is adorable. The little strip of shops and restaurants gives us a little place to walk around on the weekend. We have learned the hits and misses and are enjoying the process of learning our favorite places to dine and shop. While I still miss the late hours of the places on Comm and Brighton Ave, I'm adjusting to sprinting down the street to get sushi before is closes... at 9pm. The train station is directly on Walnut Street, making going to and from this area of Newton very accessible. The highlands abuts Needham and Needham Street so it might get over looked in comparison to the many shops on Needham St but give the Highland's a try.

It is located in a great location on Route 9 and offers 6 restaurants ranging from sit down to grab and go and also a Starbucks. Michaels, the Paper Store and B&N all in the same plaza is a win for me!

Knocked My Socks OFF!!!…read more I had never been the biggest fan of the E.A. Davis store, but I stopped in upon hearing that they had renovated. I walked into a modern store that is probably very good for they youngsters but also caught my attention as a senior citizen. The employees were very nice and accommodating, and the one dashing feller in the men's section could sell time to a clock(coming from someone who has been a granite salesman for 40+ years). He had me try on a nice Barbar vest that I ended up taking home. GREAT STORE!
