Amara has been my number one experience in the healthcare/wellbeing world so far (and likely for…read moregood). She's gone above and beyond for me as a patient. For starters, she dove deep into my medical history/records, ensuring she captured all the details correctly and missed nothing. I was surprised she remembered every small detail I had told her, given that my issue is a 7-year-old neuropathy + CRPS combo. Due to the complexity of my condition, she tried different Chinese medicine approaches and strategies. I have no doubt other practitioners would have dismissed me as a patient (and they actually did) because of not seeing quick results. Instead, she proactively consulted mentors and trusted colleagues to get feedback and other perspectives on my condition. Thanks to Amara's not giving up and her continued treatment, I can now enjoy a lower pain level phase and just have an easier day-to-day life. It makes a huge difference to my family and me. On top of my chronic issue, I once woke up with very scary tunnel-syndrome-like symptoms in my good limb. I really freaked out because I could not afford to lose any more function or tolerate any more pain. Fortunately, I was seeing Amara that same day. To my astonishment, she got rid of the issue in that one session. Boom. Symptoms fully gone the morning after. I really could not believe it. I thought I would need to embark in another never-ending healthcare nightmare. Had I known Amara when my neuropathy + CRPS first started, my last 7 years would have been so different... All of the above would already make an outstanding healthcare experience. However, what definitely sets Amara apart is that SHE CARES. As a patient, I never felt like a number, a checklist, or a protocol sheneeded to get over with. It does make a difference to her if I am in more or less pain, if something in my week flared up my symptoms, whether my camping trip impacted my pain, and so on. And she'll do whatever she can to help me. I am so grateful to Amara. I just hope that more people in pain out there can get to her practice much sooner than I did.

The injury that I visited for has put me in the hospital multiple times this year, and has given me so much extreme pain that I have passed out multiple times. Dr. Wong told me that the amount of visits I have had to the ER is a red flag and accused me of drug seeking. Trust me, I am not going to the ER for fun. We did not talk about my pain issue at all, he spent the entire session trying to analyze my answers. I was upset that the visit was a total waste of time. I have a family, career, and happy life. To be accused like this was a junior mistake on his part. Avoid this doctor at all costs. I heard he is leaving to another practice, which didn't surprise me at all.

They shouldn't have had the closed for lunch sign up, I would have left right away if it just said closed or that sign was not there. It was so misleading - it made me wait and waste more time ( after taking time off work and driving there) I called their number only to get an answering service ( you can never reach the dr), and they told me my appt was on a diff day. I had a card that they wrote the app on!! And I put it in my calendar the day I booked it. . Hello, why are you so disconnected there. Please get it together! I received three injections over several months, but unfortunately, I did not experience any relief. After one of the injections, I noticed a visible indentation and some skin discoloration at the injection site. When I mentioned this at my next appointment, Dr. Goranson told me that this can sometimes happen if the medication enters the muscle and causes atrophy, and that it usually improves over time. He then suggested another injection, but I chose not to proceed. Since my symptoms continued, I sought a second opinion. The next doctor confirmed that the issue was related to the injection and diagnosed it as fat necrosis, which she explained is not reversible. As a result, before even attempting surgery, Dr. Goranson caused me significant and permanent physical and emotional harm.
