RACISM, RETALIATION, DISRESPECT, AND UNPROFESSIONALISM Despite paying over $22,000 a year ($2,000/month) to live in their property, we were forced to endure 144 days--including an entire summer--without a functioning HVAC system. The conditions were unbearable and absolutely uninhabitable. I reached out multiple times asking for repairs, but they took minimum to no accountability; only providing a portable unit in a small bedroom which didn't cool the entire home to sending a technician out to repeatedly applying a ban-aid. The Abshure Realty Group had prior knowledge of the broken HVAC and instead of immediately replacing it they put us thru the ringer... Eventually, I filed a lawsuit to seek justice for the hardship we endured--and that's when things got worse. Instead of taking responsibility, The Abshure Realty Group retaliated against us. I made several good faith offers to work things out, even stating I'd be willing to drop the lawsuit if they just resolved the issue fairly. They refused. They used the fact that we withheld just one month of rent--which we believed was justified due to the unlivable conditions--as grounds to file a wrongful eviction against us. At the time I wasn't aware of NC's law stating that tenants cannot withhold rent, which is biased and allows landlords to take advantage of tenants and still get paid.. After paying rent to the courts for months, I eventually even offered to pay the one month's rent to settle the account but asked to have the eviction dropped, again they refused...and kept the case going.... In addition to that, we were charged multiple late fees during our tenancy, many of which were unfair or occurred during times when they were clearly in the wrong. After we vacated the property last month in May, they even charged us rent for June's rent, which was completely unjustified... we weren't even in the property in June. We moved prior to the Sheriff's coming and I guess that made them mad that they couldn't capitalize off our personal belongings. To make matters worse, I received a RACIST text message (attached) from KRISTA ABSHURE herself--sent to me by mistake. That message spoke volumes about how they truly viewed us as tenants and explained why they didn't want to settle... she didn't want us there! She didn't know that her minority employee David Michael had approved a "Black family". This was offensive, dehumanizing, and heartbreaking. But I'm sure she will have David deny it all in their reply. Our family was treated with complete disregard and disrespect! After a year of paying rent faithfully and trying to resolve things peacefully, we were met with retaliation, racism, and a retaliatory eviction . Did we have late payments? Yes... did we pay the late fees? yes... When we moved into the property we had just relocated to Raleigh and had some issues adjusting, but everything was communicated to Krista and her staff when I knew rent would be late... She and her staff could care less but they took our money and made multiple threats of eviction from day one! This company isn't a fair company and has no remorse for real-life situations... obviously .... they cared less that we sat in the heat... I'm writing this review so others can be aware and think twice before trusting Abshure Realty Group with their housing needs. What happened to us should not happen to any family. I will update this review as this court case continues and we seek JUSTICE!

In fact, to save you time, here is my conclusion - Ms. Webb is highly competent and highly recommended. We believe in her so much that in less than a year we utilized her services to buy seven investment properties. Now Down To Business Scan all the other reviews and note how long and complete they are. Nobody spends the time to lavish praise unless it is highly warranted. And, for the record, this review was unsolicited. I wrote this on my own volition. Been There, Done That Here is a brief frame of reference. My wife has been an attorney for over 30 years and a significant portion of her practice involved real estate. I have been a corporate officer and a business owner for 30+ years. For a brief period of time, I took a break from the corporate world, as my wife and I were buying properties for our own account. I was a very active income property agent involved in over 100 additional transactions for my clients. I achieved all those closings in just three years and as such I became well-versed in what constitutes a good agent versus a great agent. I came to learn that most of the agents I interacted with only performed the minimum amount of work to just get the job done. Not so with Ms. Webb. Investing In Apex After 25 years in San Diego, we moved out of state and decided to re-purpose our real estate portfolio to the Apex area. We found Ms. Webb online and began to utilize her professional services. Ms. Webb Exceeds Expectations Ms. Webb exceeded the normal services provided by a real estate agent in competence, thoroughness, and excellence. Since we are almost 3,000 miles away from Raleigh, we relied heavily upon her to perform initial property screening, property comps and rental expectations. Furthermore, she provided additional data detailing expected growth rates, hiring and employment data and other metrics pertinent to our investing in this area. Wait There Is More Many agents believe that once an offer is submitted and accepted that their job is over. It isn't - the devil is in the details. Ms. Webb coordinated all of the routine visits, inspections, work and other human-involved interactions with each of our property purchases in a prompt, efficient and proactive manner. She clearly communicated with both escrow and us via email and telephonically at all times, without us ever having to call and ask, "What's up with our escrow." Even though all the properties were brand new, not surprisingly, there were a couple of problems after the close of escrow. And even though Ms. Webb had admirably completed all of her agent duties, she stepped right back into the fray and helped us remedy a tricky construction defect to our complete satisfaction. The location is very convenient for house hunting in Southern and Western Wake Co. The parking lot has plenty of cool shade, a welcome novelty in the June heat. We worked with Claire McCullough so this review is mostly a reflection of her service. One of the reasons we ended up with Claire was her prompt and useful communication. We sent out a number of inquiries to agents all over the triangle in regards to specific properties and were generally disappointed with the quality of the responses. Some would reply quickly with little-to-no answers and others just wouldn't bother replying for days. Claire had actually just sold the property that we emailed her about but she immediately started asking us what we thought of a number of listings (most of which were not associated with Fonville Morisey) in an effort to establish a feel for our tastes and desires. We quickly chose a wide range of homes (in price, age, location and style) that we thought we might like and scheduled some time to see them. Before that date came we changed our mind several times and Claire never batted an eyelash (at least, if she did she never let us know). Claire helped us (or should I say, 'taught us how to) scrutinize every property very thoroughly and answered all of our questions about the implications of any issues. She made it very clear in everything she did that she was serving our best interest. Unfortunately, being motivated buyers with no idea what we wanted, we spent several days trying to cram in as many properties as possible. It was a miserable experience by design; so much so that I had to question myself for leaving a 5 star review for something we didn't exactly enjoy. Well, it was worth it for us in the end because Claire empowered us to see so many properties so that we could narrow our choices and negotiate a great price on a house that is so much better than anything we had imagined owning when we started sending out emails to random agents. My wife and I dealt with a lousy self-serving real estate agent years ago and it really made us dread finding another to work with. This agency and our agent really healed that wound.
