The ypung lady gave me paperwork to fill out for my mother-in-law. By the time we were called I managed to get the new patient forms filled out. The reason behind my visit is that my mother-in-law has dementia and has advanced. She has been having hallucinations being combative which was taking it's toll on me and her ultimately her care. Also she had lost weight refusing to eat everything I give her. That became scary. Her refusing to go to bed which meant I don't sleep. Her getting up all hours of the nigjt. The medication that was given helped out a little bit. She was still having abnormal behavior. The good thing was she was actually eating now. After her dropping 7 pounds was so concerning. She has not lost nor gained which is good and stable. I could not wait till her 2nd appointment to see if thier was something else to try or is that it. 2nd appointment I walked in with my notes in hand. Asking questions and explaining my concerns for my mother-in-law. The psychiatrist gave her a higher dosage. Slowly but surly things have improved. She has been eating well, behavior has changed a great deal. She still talks to herself. All I can say is that this disease is horrible and I'd be lost without any help. Your office advertises limited Sunday availability for extractions, which is the ONLY reason I made that drive. I was trying to avoid going to the ER, where care is often rushed and not handled by dental specialists. I was also explicitly told that although you normally require a Saturday consultation, you would accommodate me by doing BOTH the consultation and extraction the same day if it was needed. Because of that, I followed pre-op instructions, including being NPO after midnight to prepare for conscious sedation. After driving three hours in pain and showing up as instructed, I was met with a doctor who appeared completely unprepared and unsure of what was even scheduled. He had no clear answers, no confidence, and honestly seemed unaware he might be performing surgery that day. When I asked a very simple, direct question--if the tooth needed to come out, would he remove it--I was told he "couldn't give an answer." That is beyond unacceptable. This wasn't a complicated question--it's the entire reason I made the trip. The lack of communication, lack of preparation, and overall lack of professionalism was shocking. The doctor's demeanor alone--shaky, uncertain, and unable to provide basic clarity--was enough for me to lose all confidence in allowing him anywhere near my mouth. No patient in severe pain should be told one thing, follow pre-surgical instructions, drive hours for emergency care, and then be met with confusion and incompetence. If this is the level of coordination and confidence your practice offers, people deserve to know before trusting you with something as serious as oral surgery--especially in an emergency situation.

I also received a consultation with Dr. Girgis and he took a look at my dental situation and agreed with my dentist on the proposed course of action. Even with all of that work he and his staff did for me he refused to let me pay and told me they were happy to help. What kind of provider does that anymore? I wish I had known about this dental office years ago, I might have saved myself a lot of dental woes had I had the quality care Dr. Girgis and his staff provide.

The root canal was for her FRONT tooth. They performed the surgery and applied a crown on her front tooth. The crown later fell of in less than a year. When she went back to the office they told her they needed to extract her front tooth completely. My mother was crying because no one wants to be toothless by 55 specially when it is the FRONT tooth. Jackie told my mother that she can get a plate so she won't be toothless .. just today my mother went back for a fitting so the plate can be done for her and Jackie told her another front tooth needs to be extracted for the plate to be created . She never told us this since the beginning . Does she want to extract all my mothers teeth. Keep in mind my mother has always had healthy white teeth. Their system is way outdated and they don't don't know the difference between a cavity and a root canal. Furthermore, the staff can be rude to kids specially when they don't speak up.
