Textbook not included (I have a physical MA Textbook available for sale for this class, if anyone wants to buy it off of me lmao! Not kidding either!) Navy Blue scrubs only is the uniform color you'll need for the class. My instructor was Ms Nina, although we were able to meet and be taught by the then, CalRegional Manager but now Instructor again, Melony for our class for a few days. Melony is a great instructor for the few days we had her. She taught us a lot. She is also very approachable and it was easy to get ahold of her. She was always responsive when I needed to get in contact with her towards the end of my class when she was placing me for my Externship. I was actually very lucky to be apart of the last of her students she placed for Externship before she stepped down as manager and became an Instructor again. Now Kathi is the current CalRegional manager. Let's get back to my class, as I said my Instructor was Ms Nina and I can't say enough good about her. She is the best! She's honest and open, her teaching methods are very hands on. She's funny as hell and super relatable too! She gave us a lot of insight on what to expect in the real world and couldn't stress safety enough! Our class was small, but made the learning experience all the more better. She taught us all so well and really made the time to help each one of us to be successful and absorb and understand what she was teaching us. Healthcare and the world in general need more people like Ms Nina! Thanks to her, I scored so well on my AMCA Exam and feel more confident than ever in my ability to be an amazing CMA. Note for future students: get all your prerequisites in by the first week! (Except for the drug test obviously, but at least pay for it and upload your receipt) Don't wait until midterm. Get it done by the first or second week. That way when it comes time for Kathi to place you at your externship, you can get placed sooner rather than later. I did all my pre reqs by the first week and got my externship start date for 3 days after my last day of class. If you wait til last minute to upload all your pre reqs and you'll end up being placed at externship later, because CalRegional technically has up to 60 days to place you. Also, pay your tuition in full so that way once you finish your externship and email your booklet to CalRegional you can immediately get your Certificate! If not, you don't receive it until you're paid in full.

The program is accredited, which is great. Dr. Suhad is an amazing professor. She is down to earth and just brilliant. I couldn't imagine learning about sonography from anyone else. Melissa, my clinical coordinator, is very encouraging and I appreciate all of her help during my clinicals. I want to be 100% transparent about my time here at SUI so I will also speak about some things that can be improved on. I believe that better communication and full transparency will take this program to the next level. I think that the amazing staff, like Dr. Suhad and Melissa, are taking on a lot of responsibility and if their burden was shared with possibly more staff, the program would be so much more amazing. What I can attest to is that Prince does an exceptional job at instructing his students, to a degree that you will learn how to study concepts yourself at a much deeper level. My greatest takeaway from CFI Academy was learning the why behind all the private/commercial pilot concepts, rather than just teaching what you were taught/the way you were taught. On the financial side, Prince and Fadi have been more than fair and accommodating due to my unique situation (the school was in the process of obtaining its examining authority and I was switching from Part 61 to 141 in the middle of my training, I had to pause training for a few weeks, etc.). In my assessment from getting to know them over the last few months, they are just running a business, and I think if you come to them with an attitude that's hard to work with, you're less likely to get financial accommodations or even come out the other side with your CFI certificate in your timeframe. If you come with a humble and teachable attitude (which I would argue is key to being a CFI to begin with), give yourself time, and come prepared, you'll be just as successful here as anywhere else. I see no reason why Prince or anyone else here should stop you from your aspiration of being a CFI. I find it odd that some people think he does, when he runs a business to do just the opposite. He's been nothing but supportive of me and even takes the time on his breaks to offer words of encouragement/advice. And I think brutal honesty, one of his trademarks, is important to be confronted with in an industry like aviation. If all training went the way YOU wanted and came easy to you, I think you're less prepared as a pilot for the unique challenges that will arise when training students and when working in a multi-crew cockpit. While I have never questioned the airworthiness of the aircraft I used, maintenance had trouble keeping the planes in the sky consistently. I point this out not as a safety issue but as more of a logistical issue, because I know the school takes maintenance and airworthiness seriously. It was frustrating at times having to cancel flights due to maintenance issues, but I doubt this will be a problem for future students (at the time they were solving a large scale issue with one of their other planes, so they were short a plane already when I got there). I also saw those experiences as more real-world training for catching issues in preflight and in understanding maintenance practices (which are both highly relevant to CFIs anyway). The key is being teachable, as I said before. As for the validity of the website's claims, I think for me one month for CFI and CFII is very optimistic. But if I look at the school as just any other school, with no timeline or guaranteed finish date, I learned more from my experiences, good and bad, than I would have at any other school, and the key really comes down to your dedication and attitude. Prince does a great job teaching, his CFIs are communicative and qualified, and the planes will run when maintenance clears them. Use the bad experiences as learning opportunities, not inconveniences that someone should take the blame for, and you'll find that you can work with almost anybody to find the best solution. I found the best solution at CFI Academy.

With a full time job and being a new mom, I thought I wouldn't have the time. Lisa insured me that I can work at my own pace and have time to finish the courses. At the time of signing up for financial aid and student loans, they wanted to do a credit check for the parent of an adult student. When asked if it was a soft or hard credit check, they stated soft credit check and it would not affect the credit score. A few days later the hard credit check inquiry showed up. They refused to give copies of the signed documents for the student loans. After the financial aid was approved. The admin kept asking what stage was the process in. Information they should already know. Because their call was not returned on demand they denied enrollment. They are unprofessional and committing fraud to receive federal funding.
