Tina had my review removed so here it is again…read more After I left my review on the Google business of Certify Central Valley, the business magically disappeared the next day, thus hiding all the other bad reviews calling her out on scamming students. So I'm writing my review here. Negative stars, do not sign up with Certify Central Valley for Sterile Processing or any other courses Tina offers. The owner Tina Toma Melendrez is a scammer and liar. She charges students whatever amount she can get, some more some less while saying she is giving you the best discount or a great deal. (It's not) I signed up for a Sterile Processing course with Tina before all the bad reviews started to appear and had already paid her. Tina's course is not even accredited. Tina was late to almost every class and had constant cancellations even though she lives a fews blocks around the corner. There is a reason why when signing up for this course that she asks students to transfer her the money instead of her as a business charging the student as a transaction. When you transfer money to someone, you cannot dispute the transaction and she knows this. She never wanted to communicate via text or email regarding the terms of the course or externships because she doesn't want a written record of what she promises or says to students. She always said "call me, call me, call me" Many previous students left bad reviews about being scammed by paying $1,500 for an externship that was nonexistent. She will not refund you because it is all a scam and there is no externship. Tina offered many students, myself included an externship if you paid her $1,500. This is all a lie, there is no externship and she will make up excuse after excuse as to why it is being pushed back or things "being out of her control" She just wants your money. Many students have and are suing her for the externship and have successfully won. The course that Tina taught, powerpoint presentation of slides that she showed was just basically her notes from the textbook from when she took the course many many years ago. You are better off buying the textbook yourself and self studying for the board exam or going to an accredited institution. What Tina taught in the whole course only covered 1/3 of what was on the board exam. At the end of the course she offers a resume building workshop that only consisted of her telling students to "use chatGPT to write your whole resume" she would tell students what keywords or phrases to type into chatGPT to build your resume. Tina told students to lie on their resumes saying we had hands on experience from her course knowing damn well all we did was pass around some instruments. Tina Toma Melendrez is a money hungry scammer, do not sign up for her class unless you want your money stolen. I will keep posting my reviews even if you have the business removed Tina.

If I could give this class zero stars, I would. I took…read moreTina's class a couple of months ago I live far away, so I was driving back and forth at night just to attend To the night clasd. Tina constantly pressured me to join her "internship," even after I made it clear multiple times that I wasn't interested. I had already heard it was a scam, so my answer was no from the start. Despite that, she kept calling and blowing up my phone even outside of class. She was scaring me. After I refused several times, her attitude toward me completely changed. She became rude and aggressive. I honestly wish I had recorded it. She also tried to talk badly about another student to "bond" with me, which was unprofessional and uncomfortable. I didn't engage. SHE DID NOT LIKE THAT I DID NOT ENGAGe. At the end, she told me to come pick up my certificate, mind you I lived hours away, I drove all the way there, only to find out she didn't even have it. Total waste of time. She said she would mail it she never did. Tina is extremely unprofessional and disorganized. She was often late, canceled classes frequently, and provided little to no real value. I paid $3,000 for this course and learned nothing. It didn't lead to a job or any real opportunity. She rushed me into paying quickly through Apple Pay, claiming it was a "deal" and that the price would go up to $5,000 if I didn't act fast. That pressure alone should've been a red flag. This entire experience was a waste of time and money.

My journey with Gurnick Academy was not a straight path. I initially enrolled at the Sacramento…read morecampus, but I was distracted by life and did not take my education as seriously as I should have. I ended up failing during my prerequisite courses, leaving me with a $1,500 debt that I had to repay before I could try again. When I decided to return to nursing school, I carefully researched my options and chose the Modesto campus. Although both campuses were about 40 miles from where I lived, the commute to Modesto felt more manageable. More importantly, the Modesto campus felt like home. The support I received from the instructors and administrators went far beyond academics. They not only taught me how to become a nurse, but how to become a good nurse. Those lessons will stay with me throughout my career and for the rest of my life. My biggest piece of advice to future students is simple: read the books. Do not rely solely on Quizlet or shortcuts. Read the chapters, take handwritten notes, and put in the work. I am not the smartest person in the room, but I worked hard and gave this program my full effort. I want to express my sincere appreciation to Tu, Mr. Bennie, Ms. Laura, Amber, both Stephanies, and Stephanie at the front desk, who always answered my questions and every phone call. I am especially grateful to Stephanie Kelly, my first clinical instructor, as well as Ms. Maria, MJ, Ms. Nisha, and Tina, the nurse at my clinical site. Because of the guidance, encouragement, and support of these incredible individuals, I successfully became a licensed nurse. Today, I am proud to be working as a nurse in San Francisco. Thank you, Gurnick Academy Modesto, for helping me achieve a goal that once felt out of reach.

Please read before enrolling. I have just graduated from this LVN program, and I can honestly say…read morethat throughout the entire 12 months, the program was extremely unorganized. Module 1 was by far the most difficult not because of the material itself, but due to poorly prepared instructors who did not seem knowledgeable about what they were teaching, along with administration that relied heavily on fear and intimidation rather than support. Module 2 continued with the same issues. When I reached out for help regarding a class concern, I contacted Mr. Baca, the VN coordinator, and received a very cold, dismissive response. There was no compassion, no guidance, and his demeanor was unprofessional, rude, and insincere. This lack of support was consistent throughout the program. Module 3 was overall the easiest academically; however, the Med-Surg 2 instructor was frequently absent and displayed petty behavior, which further reflected the program's lack of structure and accountability. Module 4 was the one exception. Dawn, the OB instructor, was exceptional--she is one of the most passionate and dedicated nurses I have ever met. Ms. Charmaine, the instructor thats a NICU nurse was also outstanding and truly amazing. These two instructors were the highlight of the program and the only ones who genuinely cared about student learning and success. Along with Jay the clinical instructor, he holds a lot of passion for what he does. I did pass the exit exam and have completed the program. I would only recommend this school to individuals who are 100% committed to becoming a nurse, highly resilient, and capable of navigating a program with minimal support. Unfortunately, there is little to no help from instructors or management. Ms.Tu although i did not speak to her much she was always professional and helpful when i did contact her. Overall, this program lacks organization, professionalism, and adequate student support.
