My 15-year-old wheelchair needed repair and I found Embrace on a Google search and so fortunate that I did. The owner Jon is awesome and by far the nicest business owner you could be fortunate enough to do business with. Jon is very personable, honest and takes all the time you need to answer your questions. Unfortunately, my wheelchair was obsolete as were any hopes of getting discontinued parts. The good news was I was able to purchase a show room power wheelchair in stock at Embrace and fell in love with the comfort of it right away! As a customer that started out seeking repair at Embrace I also worked with Jon to purchase my new one. So I dealt with Jon on both of these services he offered (repair and supply). Embrace will always be my go-to now for the best in the business!

1 STAR -- Extremely Disappointing and Unprofessional Customer Service…read more I am sharing my experience with Embrace Medical Supply and DME Repair in Winston-Salem, NC, because I believe other patients and families deserve to know how I was treated while attempting to obtain medically necessary equipment. Following Achilles tendon surgery, I needed a lightweight wheelchair to assist with my mobility and recovery. I worked with this company for approximately two weeks, yet I never received the equipment. On October 12, 2026, I received an urgent message from a representative named John. When I returned his call, he informed me that a wheelchair had supposedly already been ordered for me on September 22, preventing his company from moving forward. I contacted my insurance company, which informed me that it had no wheelchair claim on file for the dates I provided. The only relevant claim identified for September 22 was for a splint for my leg and foot. When I called John back and respectfully questioned where the incorrect information originated, he could not provide a clear explanation. I expressed my frustration regarding the conflicting information, ongoing delays, and difficulty reaching the company. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, John raised his voice, began yelling at me, and stated, "I dismiss you as my customer." He then hung up the telephone. Yes, those were his actual words. I was shocked and extremely disappointed. I was not being disrespectful or unreasonable. I was simply advocating for myself and trying to obtain equipment needed for my safety and recovery. Patients recovering from surgery should not have to deal with unnecessary confusion, poor communication, and hostility when asking legitimate questions. Good customer service is not just about selling medical equipment. It is about treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and professionalism -- especially when they are already dealing with medical challenges. After approximately two weeks, I was left without a wheelchair, without a resolution, and with an extremely disappointing experience. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company. No patient should be made to feel that asking questions about their medical needs is grounds for being dismissed as a customer.

Bottom line: We found Dove Medical Supply just when we needed them, my father got to pick out a…read morecane that fit his needs with a nice associate at the store. Seemed a bit understaffed with one person but that staff member was so helpful and friendly. Apparently not working with insurance reimbursements at this time however, but appeared to be stocked with lots of patient/home care needs to purchase. The Deets: Out for a weekend lunch, we were discussing how it would be good for us to start investigating getting a cane to assist my father's mobility. By chance at the restaurant, there was someone with a cane there that actually informed us that they got the cane next door to the restaurant we were at...what are the chances? So we went next door after our meal and discovered Dove Medical Supply, a retail health/medical needs store. They were a good sized store with lots of things for patient/home care assistance with hospital beds, trach supplies, urology supplies, ostomy supplies, seat and patient lift, orthopedic needs, patient care needs and other things including patient mobility supply such as medical scooters, walkers, and canes. They had a great number of different cane styles along the wall and an associate came over to help answer questions and guide us to our cane of choice. The associate was very positive, upbeat, and helpful. But she had her hands full multiple customers coming in at once. This timing lead to a good line at checkout and again this solo associate rang up each one. I'd say she needs some help there, at least one person handling the floor while another at the checkout would greatly help. Again though, this lone associate was extremely nice through every transaction. I will note that they do not work with insurance currently so there is no insurance reimbursement available at this time, a bit disappointing. My father really likes his cane and thinks the choice was the best one for him. Dove Medical Supply appeared just when needed and helped us out!

Dove supply in the Greensboro store was very helpful and they helped us fine what we thought would be the best chair for my husband. The delivery was a little slow but that wasn't the problem. The problem was the chair started to make some kind of noise. My husband called the Greensboro store back told them what the chair was doing. They said they would send someone out to take a look at it. It happened to be a part they didn't have in stock, so that had to be delivered, which was fine. They came back about 3 weeks later and installed the part. probably about a month latter the noise came back. We called the store again. And in about 2 days latter they informed us they was NOT GOING TOFIX THE PROBLEM (because they had already fixed it once.) My husband and I are both in our seventy. We paid almost $3,000.00 for that chair and it was hard for us to lose that on a chair they want fix. Please don't go to Dove Medical. I think they try to avoid warranty on the elderly. My husband chair is still under warranty. Jo Shelton Reidsville,NC
