The mechanics at Mitchell machined a new part and then installed it for about $20. The car saw me through commissioned officer training in the Air Force, and my young family to our first duty station on the East Coast. I care that I didn't want the scratch marks and I didn't want the adhesive that had been birth on over the years making my plate look like shit. So I will get a replacement plate which will cost more money now on top of the extra $30 that they charge in comparison to anywhere else that's my TED talk.
