i've come up with a theory recently:
gas prices are high not because of production and distribution costs but instead because of the overhead of the stations themselves. think about it. most stations now also have a mcdonald's, a carwash, a church of the latter day saints and a hair & nail salon attached to them.
it's not all THAT far fetched to think that maybe all these increases we've been experiencing in the last seven or so years are due to the operating cost of running all these add on's, now is it?
case in point: limited oil. this station is about as minimal as it gets. a tiny building that houses just the cashier. it doesn't sell anything else BUT gas. the cost of unleaded at this station? $1.81. yes, folks. you read right and they've been selling it at that price for weeks now.
so unless you're one of those freaks that likes to get a little religion done with their hair and nails while you fill up, you'll definitely want to get your gas here. read more
