Dissapointed that prices are still high and unmarked. Also a let down that the ice machine for drinks was broken so we had a warm drink.

More food stalls with typical German food and more attractions/activities would be much apreciate considering the price of the ticket. The kids loved the Free Fall activity, and we're glad it was included in our tickets, and not an extra charge. The gift shop was great, a lot of interesting options for little curious minds. We didn't visit the café. Parking was very challenging, we paid for parking and were late coming out, and found a $120 parking ticket on the windshield!

However, based on FB comments at the Festival page, this year was not the best year of the festival.. People were complaining about the lack of variety of stalls and higher prices. Now, my impression...It was my first year in the event and I loved the concept of the festival to bring all cultures together. However, it was a bit disappointed to didn't find a stall with food/drink from my country while I saw three stalls from the same country. In addition, there was stalls from big brands in Canberra, which were not multicultural institutions, so space was not a issue! I believe that If it is designed to be a multicultural festival, all the countries should be represented! I loved the presentations, music and performances from different cultures and ethnicities!

Best 4 day car show in Australia hands down if not the world :)!!…read more My first summernats ever was 19th & kept it consistent till the 22nd, arrived on the thursday when it started & left on the monday, always went down to Canberra with 3 mates 4 including me & would usually cost us about $600 for the hotel, tickets, food/drink & the night life :D!! Suprisingly had a break till the 29th & attended the 30th which has just passed :)!! Every day is jam packed with burnouts, happy laps around the grounds with heaps of Revs & Skids, with a side of dyno, show & shine, bass off. Plenty Booze aswell like good ol VB's & other varieties of beer & my personal favourite cocktail slurpees at $10 a pop ... they were definately stronger back in and around the 19th year & they still taste good but feel a little bit weaker might just be me haha!! If you want a good chance of getting your favorite shirt, size & colour its best to go on the first few days cause by the third the majority is sold out & you got to just get whats left!! 2 day pass is about the same price as a 4 day pass so if your arriving on the 2nd day your better off getting the season pass cause it always decent enough to pop in on any of the days in the arvo to evening except for sunday :)! Also to avoid the queues its best of buying your tickets to the days you want to go online :)!! You still have to line up but the Queue is always much less than half of the normal ticket line :)!! Once again this is an Amazing car show & always leaves you with fantastic memories whether you go down for the day or stay a night or 2 or stay for the whole event :)!!

The overall experience when you visit Questacon is fairly linear. You obtain your tickets, ascend through the entrance and then slowly descend through the few 'experiences' Questacon offers. The first experience is usually it's flagship, which can be identified through whatever is advertised on the website, and the following experiences are its core features. It was very fun have seen all of what Questacon had to offer, however, I believe its core features hasn't changed all that much since my last visit a few years ago and my first visit 20 or so years ago. If I had small gripe, though it doesn't really affect my overall experience, it would be the lack of events and shows. I feel like Questacon has missed a significant opportunity here. They could've created high quality science shows which focuses on different kinds of experiments from the different experiences they had. Instead, they have continued to use the same tired 'Food Science' show that has been running for at least, I would bet, 20 years. Again, not entirely a dealbreaker, as the experiences were very good, but it would really put Questacon on another league in science museums if they were to invest in innovating on their shows. Get on it, Q. Hire a few creative minds to reinvent your shows and I'll be damned if I don't go back to see them. Questacon is Pretty Good, if you've never been then tick it off your list, and if you have, well, then you have.

I spent less than an hour here. What I saw here impressed me, possibly because my local guide James knew what we would like. You can sign up for a free walking tour with a docent if you're not sure where to start, but be forceful with him/her if asked what you would like to see. I really wanted a sort of "tasting" but the guide ended up spending 40 minutes in Aboriginal art, 10 minutes in expressionism, and then was told to "explore" myself. Had a I chance to do it all over again, I would have asked to see just a couple examples from 3-4 different "parts" of the museum. I'm a sucker for portraiture and there is a "Miss Nellie Patterson" that reminds me of the Gainsborough Blue Boy and Pinkie. All the wanting-adulthood aspirations of children...although Miss Nellie does look a bit unhappy to be painted :-) If you are an art person, this is a reason to visit Canberra. If you are an art person, and are taking a break from the far more "active" things you will do in Australia, give yourself at least half a day here; full day would be better.

The museum is actually predominantly a gallery (or at least seemed that way when I was there). Interested art work from local painters that have some sort of relevance to Canberra's past or present. One of the highlights for me was the collection of Sidney Nolan's Ned Kelly paintings. Entry is free, so there's no real reason to not pop in and have a quick look around if you feel like escaping in some art.
