Among the multitudes of hotels and resorts in Boracay, Lime is a true gem resting quietly atop a Kyo Chon off the bustling Main Road. My wife and I had the privilege of staying at Lime for my first ever trip to the Philippines.
The two flight walk up was disheartening, especially having to drag bags of luggage with us too. Thankfully the security guard was around to help us. We were immediately greeted by a pleasant staff upon walking in, and given ice cold glasses of lime water and rags to dry our sweat-ridden faces.
Our room didn't offer much of a view, but for the measly price we paid, I didn't really care. Besides, the rooftop bar and pool offered a stunning view of the whole of Boracay Island.
Our room featured basic amenities that every decent hotel room should have--a working television, desk, phone with room service, security box, basic hygiene kits and Wi-Fi. An air conditioner doesn't sound like too much of a luxury, but having been to other parts of the Philippines, believe me that it is. Lime went the extra mile with complimentary Filipino-styled breakfast and dinner located just downstairs.
My only complaint was that the floors were slightly dirty. Dirty enough to make my bare feet black within an hour of walking around our room.
Just outside of Lime is Main Road, which, true to its namesake, is THE main road. Traveling from station to station is a piece of cake as there are hordes of pedicabs driving around, and the internationally known beach is a mere two minute walk.
Will we return? Absolutely. read more
