    Chicken taco salad

I went to the dentist in kuna and after my sister and I wanted to try this place because of the good reviews but I was not impressed actually I was super bummed at the price we paid for this tiny salad. The chicken had good flavor but they were very skimpy on the ingredients. The salsa verde was not good. The chips and salsa were ok. 10$ for guacamole! The lady was very friendly but overall was not satisfied. Thankfully we went next door and got a homemade cookie! And it was delicious!

Pisco Sour - A MUST TRY

YES, GO HERE. This is your sign. I am OBSESSED with Lima Limon Peruvian Restaurant, and only after one trip. Let me tell you, it is without a doubt worth the drive into the depths of Kuna. You won't find authentic Peruvian food elsewhere in the Treasure Valley that tastes this fantastic. Drinks! Their menu offers several traditional Peruvian and Mexican cocktails, as well as imported and domestic beer and your familiar non-alcoholic drinks. My husband stuck with the always great Stella Artois (or so he says) and I ordered Peru's national cocktail Pisco Sour (Peruvian brandy blended with lime, egg white and jarabe de goma, garnished with bitters, $9.00). Unlike anything I had ever had before. It wasn't made very strong, but it wasn't overly sweet so you could still taste the brandy. Probably the most exotic drink I've had in a while. Yes, it does taste exotic. *FYI there are no prices on their drink menu as it is based of the market and availability of ingredients. The food was a knock out. Holy wow, it's been a while since I had food this unique, this delicious. I bellied up to the Bistec Alo Pobre (juicy grilled steak served with rice, fried plantains and fried egg, with traditional salad, $19.50). The steak was cooked absolutely perfect! It's not a huge piece, thinner and oh so tender. I LOVED the fried plantains. They were delectable, almost like a side dessert but paired so well with a bite of meal and egg. Think fireworks in your mouth. I mean you couldn't get a bad bite. Everyone went so well together. I would order this again and again. My husband ordered the most unique looking dish, Aji de Gallin a (delicious shredded chicken breast covered in yellow Peruvian pepper cream, piso bread, topped with parmesan cheese served with white rice). This dish is phenomenal! I thought I liked my dish - I liked his even more. The flavor is exquisite. Moist, tender chicken smothered in rich, creamy sauce. Reminded me of Singaporean-style curry, only a less spicy. If you're really in the food for something different, this is it. The vibe is wonderful. Lima Limon is the perfect spot if you're looking to eat someplace lowkey, laidback and friendly. There aren't many seats, and it's encouraged you make reservations, especially for weekend dinners. I enjoyed the humble, atmosphere. I did find some of the décor rather curious, but I don't know much about Peruvian artwork and culture, so it's not my place to judge. I enjoyed the boastful colors, though.

Was really excited to check this place out. Thought it was going to be the new best thing in Kuna. Unfortunately it was a grave disappointment. It's like you have your hopes and expectations hi for food trucks especially Mexican food trucks and then you get let down by the lack of quality service taste and cost. The rice was worse than a kindergartens rice. No flavor no quality nothing. The beef was not flavored was not seasoned I don't know if they even know what Carne Asada means. The quality was so below grade I do not understand how they're even operating to this date. We took one bite of everything and had to throw everything else away. Such a disappointment

Not worth the 72 dollars food was bland presentation was horrible felt like I was eating at chipotle save your money

Food was bland. Presentation was horrible. Definitely not worth $72 felt like I was eating at chipotle.

I'm not sure which is more delicious. The Peruvian food from Chef Deysi Contreras, who is from Peru, or the warm hospitality extended by her husband Agustin who was server during our lunch visit. My husband and I are fans of Peruvian food, a cuisine difficult to find in the western U.S. When we lived in Oregon we used to enjoy remarkable Peruvian meals at Andina in Portland and good Peruvian food at a Mexican / Peruvian restaurant in Bend. The food at Lima Limon outshines the latter for the dishes we tried. If I could wave a magic wand, I'd expand the number of Peruvian dishes on their menu which also highlights standard American food dishes and some which are Mexican. I'm hoping as Peruvian food becomes better known in the area, they'll be able to expand those options on their menu. Deysi can cook any Peruvian dish you want, says Agustin, if you call ahead. But most folks wouldn't know what to request to call in advance. And I can almost guarantee that once you try Peruvian food you'll want to try more! Noting some commented on it being slow for food to come out of the kitchen, from our experience that is so. Don't plan on a quick in and out meal. I imagine at times there are just one or two cooks in the kitchen and from scratch food is not fast food. See John S's FTR review for all the 'need to know' great details in it. I can't do better than that through anything I'd write here. So I'll just add a couple of notes: 1) Lima Limon will be moving, sometime in the next few weeks if all goes according to schedule, to another location in Kuna. On Main Street down the block from Enrique's Mexican restaurant. (Side note, Agustin's brother owns Enrique's.) 2) Watch the video on the Yelp photo page. You'll get an idea of how charming is your host and also a sense of the food. 3) They have pisco for Pisco Sours! They also have cachaca, a Brazilian alcohol that is close to rocket fuel for flavor and may be an acquired taste but trust me in a Caipirinha it is a fondness easily acquired. Hmmm...does Uber run to Kuna? :-)

What a great addition to the ethnic food scene in the Boise Valley. Lima Limon is the only Peruvian restaurant between Portland and Salt Lake City and local diners are the winners. Located just off the north bank of Indian Creek, the view out the back window is scenic and soothing. The restaurant, which opened in August, is at the location of the former Creekside Lounge. Chef Deysi Contreras and her husband, Agustin, worked 20 years at Kuna's renowned Mexican restaurant El Gallo Giro, owned by Agustin's brother, before opening their own restaurant. Deysi is a native of Lima, Peru's capital city. I ordered Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian stir fry dish in the fusion tradition brought by immigrants from Guangzhou, China, in the late 1800s. The dish combines marinated steak strips, onions, tomatoes and French fries and served with rice. The beef was very flavorful from the marinade and melded well with the other ingredients. I also ordered Papa a la Huancaina (Huancayo-style potatoes), which features boiled yellow potatoes topped with a creamy Huancaina sauce. The sauce is made from a fresh white cheese, an aji amarillo (yellow Peruvian pepper), evaporated milk and crushed crackers smoothed in a blender. This is different than anything I've ever tasted. The potatoes and sauce were served at room temperature and were quite tasty. The peppers added a zip but didn't overpower. Wonderful. Server Ricky was knowledgable about the menu items and spent quite a bit of time with me talking about the dishes. Deysi and Agustin also came out from the kitchen and talked with me and thanked me for coming in. The restaurant has plenty of room with wooden tables spaced comfortably apart. There are also two larger tables in a board room area with a sliding door that can be closed for privacy. After people discover this wonderful restaurant, they may give El Gallo Giro some real competition. It's great that Kuna now has two really good restaurants.
