I never have any issues going to Lilys. You can't really beat $28 for a gel manicure! I will say there are nail techs that I do think do better than others, but I never request anyone specific and my manicures always look nice. I think some of these comments forget that these are very affordable prices compared to elsewhere and that it's a local family owned business. This is not going to be to the level of some STL businesses, but it's also not the same price! I'd much rather go to a small town nail salon for a nice simple manicure than pay 45+ elsewhere. My daughters wanted to have her nails done and we had the horrible idea of going to this place. They did a terrible job and when they had to take the ones they did, they actually ripped skin and nail on two of her fingers. Completely unacceptable. Was disappointed with the pedicure- they did a poor job of removing dead skin and when I said something to them they scrubbed just a few minutes more and then tried to take a buffing wheel to my feet. So I set an appointment for 4 people to get mani pedis. They knew ahead of time we'd be spending a decent amount of money but still decided to do a crap job. I gave them 2 stars because the foot massages during the pedis were amazing but when it came to the manis, it went downhill. I got acrylics and immediately after being done, you can notice all types of marks and indents all over my nails. They didn't clean under my nails throughout the process so there's a bunch of acrylic material bunched up under my nails. On top of that, they did no type of manicure work. No oil, no cuticle cutting, filing, nothing. Just straight to gluing on the nails. The other 3 people with me got regular manicures and all of their nails, both hands and feet, were chipping the very next day. I've had my acrylics on for 1 week and 2 nails have already popped off. You could tell they were rushing through us so they could get to whoever was waiting. We had an appointment for a reason! And I guarantee those single people weren't paying as much as we were. We ended up paying over $200 before tip for a rush job. They're lucky we tipped because the service we were provided didn't deserve any. read more

My best friend is a big fan of this place. We were doing girls night out and this was our first stop. My friend was the only person in the place. I told them I wanted a mani pedi, and I started to pick my color, The tech was friendly. She checked the water temp. She did offer a razor, which I liked. I need something dead skin removed from my heels. I am not a fan of the oil on my legs, because they always use to much and I feel slick for days. The manicure was not the best I have received. She did not really push back the cuticles and I felt my nails look better from far away versus up close. I went because of my friend, but it would not be my first choice. read more

I have been going here for about 6 months and never had any problems until today. Horrible service. I went in yesterday and got a fill and two of the women techs were fighting pretty loudly and in front of me. The man doing my nails kept apologizing and I let it go. He was preoccupied and didn't put a clear coat on and dried my nails with a little fan. After leaving they peeled off and looked horrible. I went back today (24 hours later) after work and the same man proceeded to tell me it was my fault and I messed them up and how he's been doing mails for 22 years. I didn't want to make a scene because there were kids present but I stayed I wouldn't mess my nails up on purpose. He re painted them and still charged me $10. I had to go to Lily's for a wedding with the other bridesmaids. We were planning on going to Tammy Nail in Freeburg, but they were closed for the month. We settled on this place... The prices seemed reasonable. It was $20 for a pedi and $22 for a gel manicure. All six of us got a gel manicure and a pedicure. We had appointments and were out within an hour. That sounds nice, but there's a reason they're that fast. The regular pedicure consists of soaking your feet - a little pumice stone rub and then trimming/painting your toenails. I still had dead skin all over my feet when I left. I did accidentally smudge a toe, and they were very helpful in repainting it. My friend got the deluxe pedi. She was very happy, but it seemed like the normal pedicure at any other place you would go. The gel manicure wasn't anything much either. There was no trimming of the cuticles/hangnails or buffing my nails before painting. They did two coats of each polish, which seemed normal. However, it is day five with this manicure; it's already peeling off. I will not be going back to Lily's... it's not a terrible spot. They did let us pop champagne in the salon since it was a bridal party (we asked first). I just know I can get a better job for about the same price from Tammy Nail in Freeburg. read more

I first went to this place last year. I was very happy with the service. Helen is very sweet and does a wonderful job. Most recently I went there for a mani and pedi...Steve did my mani and all I can say is ... OMG... talk about a good leg massage. I wanted to sleep right there in the chair. He and Helen are very sweet. I go 30 miles one way to this place because they are unlike the other nail salons I have been into where the workers all talk to each other and you have no clue what they are saying, it makes me uncomfortable because they will look at you and laugh. I've lived overseas and I know how they love to make fun of us "big people" ...lol. At least here they are trying their best to speak to you and make you feel welcome. For Mother's Day I received 3 mani-pedi certificates here. What usually takes at least 2-3 hrs was merely an hour here (55 mins to be exact!). Feet were dunked in water - very minimal soaking and certainly not long enough to soften nails/skin. My manicure did not involve the usual soak or massage with moisturizer that I experienced at other establishments. Was very disappointed and felt ripped off. There is no way the mani-pedi was worth what the Wag Jag certificate valued the service at. I will not go back. read more

Never again! I went to this nail salon before a trip and asked for Gel polish on my toes. First, my manicurist was distracted by her young daughter who was screaming bloody murder because she wasn't allowed to use the broom. Manicurist left me to discipline child. She apologized when she returned, but seemed distracted. She cut my toenails short without asking. I had to ask her to finish removing the polish she left on my toenails after she tried to paint over it, and it was noticeable. I questioned whether she was using the polish I picked out. She said she was. She never used the gel lamp so I questioned again if she used gel polish. She said no regular polish. I told her that wasn't what I asked for. She told me to just sit and allow it to dry. Then she charged me 20.00 knowing I was not satisfied. I reiterated when I paid the owner that I was disappointed in my pedicure. They said it was cheaper to use regular polish. I pay the same for gel polish elsewhere, but that doesn't matter. So much for the customer always being right. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with a pedicure until today. I won't be back. read more

I went in Lily's Nails today for a shellac pedicure. I will be the last time I ever go in there. I asked to have me nails cut short. Once she finished my first foot I had to tell her to cut them shorter. I also have a severe medical condition with my left leg. I asked her to be gentle with me leg and foot.
