We hopped on Yelp and saw that French Village was just down the street, so we just walked on over. For a Saturday morning it was quite busy, but we were lucky to get a table for 4 people right away. They have a pretty standard breakfast menu with your typical french toast, pancakes, bagel, hash, scrambled eggs, etc. Between the four of us, we pretty much ordered the whole menu, which was great because that means I got to try a bit of everything. For myself I ordered the bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. It was good, but I don't think it was exactly what I was feeling that morning. I really enjoyed bites of their raspberry & white chocolate pancakes and frech toast though. I'd definitely recommend that if you've got a sweet tooth. On top of that, we got an assortment of different coffees and smoothies at our table. I went for a soy milk latte for myself and a strawberry banana smoothie. Both hit the spot perfectly. Service was a little spotty. Our waters were never really refilled (and on a hungover morning, endless water is a necessity), and our server looked a bit angry to be there. The manager came around to see how everything was doing though, which was great! They have a bakery on the other side of the restaurant (where you go to pay), and have an assortment of macarons, muffins, and other baked goods. Before we left, we got a small box of macarons to share and they were lovely! I can't remember all the flavours we got, but everything I tried was delicious. If you're in the University area, definitely a good spot to check out for a nice breakfast.

That was a while ago, and when a friend reminded me of it the other day I was compelled to visit the actual shop under the pretence of getting the other half a treat. OK, I wanted a treat, but a good deed is still a good deed. The ladies were lovely and full of chat as I tried to decide what to go for, which considering we are just talking cupcakes not career choices, it was surprisingly difficult. I decided on 3 chocolate ones- a chocolate raspberry, a salted caramel chocolate and a raspberry chocolate. Don't ask me to choose my favourite, as they all were. Moist with a little surprising gooey centre on the caramel and raspberry ones they were flawless. The other half felt the same, leading me to believe that this is a little treat he wants me to repeat, so looks like J Bird will be getting a lot more of my pocket money in the future, not that I'm complaining...

Love that everything on offer is vegan and reasonably priced with a wealth of options to choose from e.g. filled wraps, bagels, salads, stews, soups, cakes and tray bakes. It's also heaven to have a choice of plant-based milks for coffee i.e. oat, almond or soy - such an improvement on offerings found at other Belfast cafes. My food was delicious and coffee flawless. In this, the age of excess hipster cafes, unfortunately it's still difficult to find good coffee, but thankfully 387 offers exceptional coffee. Additionally, this place doubles up as a health food shop with shelves, a freezer and a cooler brimming with goodies. After enjoying my coffee and food I did a mini grocery shop stocking up on vegan cheese, tofurkey slices, sausages, burgers, soups and chilli mayo. A lovely, relaxed spot with friendly, helpful staff and outside seating for sunny days. Decor is natural, focused on muted grey shades, wooden furniture, soft lighting and green plants. Everything about this cafe is synonymous with ease, relaxation and quality. I'm very glad 387 has arrived on the Belfast food scene and hope it flourishes. I will definitely be back.

There is a lot of stiff competition among bakery and baked goods stalls in the market so most who survive really have to put themselves out there with either a catchy niche or gap in the market, or in this case produce some of the highest quality baked thingys to be had in this city. The bakery does the usual array of sweet and savoury, the sweet being the most impressive. Glazed buns, chocolate cakes, chewy American style cookies which rival Big Ted's available close by and any number of muffins, pastries and cupcakes. I tried a fresh cream donut the last time I was there. Coated in a thin layer of close to sickly sweet whit icing and bunged to the rafters with a sweet cream filling. Light, soft and chewy and heavily glazed it was brilliant if I must say. The staff who run the place are fantastic. I was enquiring about the possibility of getting a chocolate cake made to order for a family member's birthday down the line too, which they said would be grand.

The stand does a huge rage of all things baked including Muffins & Cupcakes, Pastries, Desserts, Gateau's & Tarts, Soft Chewy Cookies, Speciality Bread, Scones....the list goes on! And everything is crafted with immaculate care and precision. Particular favourite of mine are their scones, which are heaving with fruit, and their Danish pastries, which have just the right amount of cinnamon and beautifully light and flaky pastry. One unusual service but one I think should be highlighted is their Bun on The Run service, which is to do with the noble tradition of bringing your own cake to work on your birthday! You can order your buns and French Village will deliver them for you if you want, and best of all they will give you a free bun for your troubles!

A small modest cupcake stall that has a multitude of sugary delights. The last time I was there with a few people we tried the Oreo cupcake which is based on and fashioned like an Oreo biscuity. Crumbling soft butter laden sponge with a rich dark chocolate bitterness sandwiched between a layer creamy butter filling. Superbly textured, rich and divine. The company does a comprehensive range of cupcakes in small bitesizes and standard. They also provide catered services for events. I've provided the full list available below. The range is extensive and adventurous. You won't be disappointed with the range available. I would say that you do pay for the privilege of home-made quality baking but then again if you are going to treat yourself it might as well be something of the utmost quality. Spiced Carrot Cake: Tender, delicately spiced carrot cake with golden raisins. Red Velvet: Luscious red vanilla sponge with a dash of cocoa and vanilla frosting. Orange Blossom & Vanilla: Zesty, melt-in-your-mouth orange blossom sponge with vanilla frosting. Chocolate Guinness: Creme fraiche and Guinness give this rich chocolate sponge an edgy finish. Reese's Peanut Butter: The most sumptuous brownie sponge with a shot of peanut butter inside. Blueberries & Cream: Summery sponge with gushy bits of blueberry oozing everywhere. Chili Chocolate: Subtle but scrumptuous chocolate sponge infused with homemade chili and a touch of cayenne. Chocolate & Orange: An irresistible combination of sultry orange and rich chocolate milk. Brownies & Cream: Swiss Meringue Buttercream frosting on our favorite fluffy brownie sponge. Green Tea: Delicious and rare Japanese macha tea folded into a soft sponge. Chocolate & Honeycomb: Dark chocolate sponge with honey cream frosting. Chocolate & Peppermint: Chocolate sponge with mint cream frosting and chocolate chips. Turkish Delight: Turkish delight chocolate bar folded into chocolate sponge, with rose frosting. Strawberry Cheesecake: Fresh strawberry sponge with rich vanilla cream cheese frosting and a sprinkling of biscuit. Lemon Drizzle: Zingaling lemon sponge with a double topping of crisp lemon and sugar topping, and lemony frosting. Raspberry & Lemon: Raspberry and lemon cake, vanilla frosting. Simple and delicious. Chocolate Devil's Food: An American classic; hunky cocoa sponge with cocoa and cream cheese frosting
