With nearly all the space in the wall there are a number of masterpieces on display from artists from Glasgow many if the artists who have work's displayed here studied at the Glasgow school of art. Some prices range from the lower thousands of pounds to over ten thousand. There are also prices of individual crafted furniture For sale in this shop, very nice items. Definitely a place to recommend if you want to own an original piece of Glasgow art.

Although it's so close to the bustle of Sauchiehall Street (about ten metres to be exact) on stepping into this Art Gallery you will feel as if you have been transported miles away. The Gallery is very spacious and boasts beautiful art exhibitions over three floors. One of these floors also contains a mixed exhibition - so you'll always find something that catches your fancy. At the moment the Roger Billcliffe Gallery houses an exhibition from the painter James Fullarton - and prices range from the very pricey to the horribly pricey. If you don't have that sort of money to throw around (don't worry, most of us don't!) this gallery is simply a wonderful place to have a wander around. You'll also find collections of jewelley and small sculptures on sale here - so it really is worth having a look. Plus, all three members of staff are very friendly and happy to talk to you about any of the art on display.

With works of fine art placed in every nook and cranny, one wrong turn and you could find yourself with a fairly hefty fine to pay. In saying that, staff here are overwhelmingly friendly and obviously very proud of the business they have helped create. Best of all, if you do buy yourself a painting from here, you can even try it out in your home first before completing the purchase.

There're many understated Scottish artists represented in this space that I had not discovered until I found them within. Peter Nardini's work in particular caught my eye and seems to be the latest artist being promoted here. His paintings remind me of a cross between seaside nostalgia and Jack Vetriano: they'd make lovely original addtions to your home. There are also a few pieces by Adrian Mc Murphie, who apparently illustrated for J K Rowling's Guide to Edinburgh! If you can afford to buy a painting I would highly recommend it. But if you're just looking for a browse the lady in charge could not be friendlier or happier to leave you to it! The paintings are often scenic, but still ask questions about the nature of art- expect strange perspectives, interesting use of colour and more. Best way to enjoy the Annan is to catch an opening- it's when the wise arrive to check out the artist, and is usually full enough so that it is possible not to feel singled out. I have a habit of whispering when I visit galleries, in case anyone overhears my opinions- an opening lets me be expansive and chatty.

The gift shop part is extremely diverse and sells some exquisite ornaments and housey bits and bobs to please someone on their birthday. A lot of the jewellery, prints and housewares are all on a Scottish theme, but would be an altogether higher class of souvenir should your purpose in the Rowan Gallery be to seek out one of those. They sell some unusual designs, including a Warhol esque print of a Tunnocks tea cake on bags and aprons. They look amazing and is a nice touch for locals and visitors alike. A lot of their jewellery displays are dedicated shrines to the local creative contingency and there are some nice, cheap prints of Scotland on offer amongst the scented candles and fancy piggy banks. But the real treat of the gallery is being able to wander unwatched through to the back room to have a look at the local artists. There are a number of them on display here and the names change frequently. You may be able to stumble upon some high profile stuff if you come in at an opportunistic time; or find a new artist to adore and potentially adorn your house with. The majority of the paintings are unaffordable for the average consumer but failing finding an affordable masterpiece, it's still refreshing to peruse the fresh, white washed gallery and maybe pick up a gift on your way out.

Yes of course there's tartan but it's fresh and bright and used in interesting ways! There's also a lot of Harris Tweed. From art to jewellery, mugs, stationary, cards and candles it is the best place in Milngavie to pick up a card and gift.

It's a lovely gallery space and great for a relaxing look around. Most stuff seemed to be pretty reasonable to me and there are prints as well as large framed pieces, so you could grab something interesting as a gift. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that the person working in the gallery that day didn't seem to be bothering to greet customers, which I think is a pretty basic courtesy. That wouldn't stop me returning for another visit though.

A framing service is provided & advice from if required, the frames can be changed if you don't like the one chosen for the painting / print, it's no hassle here. As an art collector I see art as an investment and the frame is just as important to enhance the picture. On many times I've come here and used the picture framing service for items that I've bought at auction, and would highly recommend the service.

Once you walk in, you realise just how many options you have for art, even if you don't see what you want on the walls. The staff here are very friendly and although they didn't have what I wanted, they gave me the managers card to contact him regarding the art. I full plan on doing business here when what I want is available, and I suggest, if you're in the market for quality art, you should as well!

The art is by no means cheap but the shop has much more to offer than expensive pieces from Glasgow's artistic world. There is an excellent selection of greeting cards which I have found are a great way to impress at special occasions. The shop also has lots of interesting jewellery that may be expensive but it is not outlandishly priced - think special occasion. Christo's also offers a framing service, indeed this is how I first came across this little gem. I had brought a picture for a friend's birthday but the back had come off and I could'nt return it. The owner was really helpful and she arranged for her framer to fix a new back onto the picture for only £10. I was really happy as she even had it back to me by the end of the week - in time for the party. Many of the stores in the West End have lost this friendly customer service but Christo's is not one of them. If you want something a bit different or even just a birthday card that will make you smile then pop by - I highly recommend it.

Yet, I was very pleasantly surprised upon venturing into 'this one'. Indeed, it is not at all what I would have expected. Yes, there are lovely, pretty products. Yes, there prices are on the higher side. But, you feel that you would be paying a genuine price for them due to the lovely design and blatant high quality. So, while you may not pop in regularly to treat yourself to a pick me up; this is a great place to stop off if you need a present that's a little bit different for someone who's worth it. There's also a range of smaller gifts too which means you don't need to go crazy. Instead, you can invest in a really nice card or calender as an extra bonus to a more run-of-the-mill gift bought elsewhere. Finally, as mentioned in previous reviews the woman in here is so nice, friendly and chatty. It makes all the difference. Really.
