I visited this gallery recently and was disappointed at the 'door bell' system in place, as I thought too, that it was closed.
I had a good look round with my husband and he also agreed with me that there was a fairly good selection of known and unknown artists being displayed.
We had went along to look for a particular artist, T. Fichett, who paints on glass, as a wedding present for my brother and his soon to be wife as they had one of his originals already, which was bought from there, also we have two of the original artists work ourselves. The gallery had shown this artist before and had advertised they were agents for them but when we got there we were suprised to see another artist whose work was near identical to the artist we were looking for.
The work was obviously a very close copy of the previous artists work and this was down to same size, frame colour and the paintings themselves were obviously a rip off of the original artists.
When people like ourselves go to a gallery like Art Exposure to spend our hard earned money on 'original' works of art, we dont expect that a gallery of your standing to be showing such 'slap in the face' rip offs of original artists!
We were a bit shocked at the way the gallery have obviously taken on an artist that is to all intensive purposes, copying a well known artist on the UK and international art scene. We are aware people are influenced by artists but to be an agent for an artist that is to all intensive purposes ripping another artist's work off is very unproffesional indeed.
Since our visit we have heard from quite a few sources of this copy cat artist and to be honest, the feedback is all the same, sad and extremely unproffesional! read more
