Had a wonderful meal at NordØst!…read more I started with the langoustine won ton dumplings and they were delicious! The second course was ramen without the pork. It's chicken soup, vegetables, and pork. It was surprisingly spicy. The best part of the meal was dessert in my opinion. It was cherries and chocolate. It had vegan pectin cherry jellies, fresh cherries that were pitted, a chocolate cake with chocolate mousse with a cherry glaze that looks like a glossy cherry. It was cherry art on a plate.

Mixed thoughts on this Norwegian Asian fused restaurant known for good cocktails. Our group had a…read morevariety of dishes ranging from traditional fish dish, cheese burger and a few Asian dishes. Crispy duck steam buns were very good. Gyoza were also very tasty. My Ramen dish looked good but the broth which is really the key to a great bowl of Ramen was lacking and too far from what I would considered an Asian broth. Could just be me.

Bakkalao is a Portuguese dish made from tomatoes, potatoes, onions and fish (cod). They have brownies, cookies, waffles, and ice cream for dessert. I enjoyed the chocolate dipped ice cream. I have been a fan of Bangkok Cafe for several years, and it was my go-to eatery when I was living…read moreas a student in Trondheim. They serve fresh and flavoursome thai cuisine, and the dishes always taste like they were made from scratch, as opposed to other asian restaurants in Norway, where it is plain that premade curry paste from jars is used liberally... I would recommend one of the curry soups - green, red or tom kha gai, which are all spicy and have a real zing. The noodle woks are often less inspiring and a tad too greasy. Apart from the food, the place doesn't look like much, and you have to collect yor cutlery and glasses from plastic boxes at the till - but this has always been part of the charm to me. The food is also on the cheap side - ca 149NOK for a main course. The location is very central, so if you should find yourself in Trondheim and fancy a flovour fest but don't want to splurge, I can heartily recommend Bangkok Cafe!

Bangkok Café is the restaurant I hear my colleagues talk about a lot. So I had to try it…read more It is partly a take away, partly a restaurant. It is not very big and the service is basic. You will have to order at the counter (in the meantime have a look in the kitchen where the Thai prepare your dinner), pay immediately and they will serve it at your table. You can choose to sit at a normal table or at one on the platform (take your shoes off!) where you have a hole under the table so you don't have to sit on your legs. The food is very good! I had the fishcakes and the green curry. They were both very delicious! A lot of flavours and not too spicy for me (I ordered medium hot). Do not expect a chique restaurant, but expect a very nice meal!
