I placed my order when the truck arrived, within 15 minutes my pager was buzzing, no need for ketchup or hot sauce (which is unusual for me) . Hot fresh and made to order. Ok - this was my first time trying Julian's so I WILL be back. On my first visit I ordered 1lb of…read morethe cracklings and 2 boudin links. He made the cracklings fresh and the boudin was received nice and hot. When I got home and opened the boudin, he threw in some shrimp too, hell yeah! So the main reason for the 3 stars is that my order for 1lb of cracklings and 2 boudin links was $55 +! Fairly positive the price went up per lb of cracklings from before I went because I legit did a double take before paying. The cracklings were good and fresh, and the seasoning he puts on them is really good with a nice noticeable kick. Nothing crazy but if you don't like spicy you probably won't like it, I just wish the seasoning was mixed better. The boudin was HUGE and really tasty, but I actually preferred to cut into the casing and eat the inside itself as I didn't care for the flavor of the casing too much. The shrimp was really good. I'll definitely be back to try the actual plates he sells as I was unaware. I'll prob grab a fried fish and/or shrimp plate or maybe a poboy. The owner was super friendly and nice too!

Julian's Food Truck - A Hidden Gem Worth the Hype!…read more Extra, Extra... read all about it! Today, we stumbled upon what might just be the best food truck ever! We were on a mission to find some cracklins, but what we discovered was so much more--a true Southern feast on wheels. Julian's food truck is the definition of a hidden gem. Not only did we get our cracklins, but we went all in and ordered a little bit of everything: boudin links, boudin balls, fried catfish (my personal favorite), black-eyed peas, red beans and rice, smothered pork chops, macaroni and cheese, candied yams, mustard greens, and even pig feet. Every bite was packed with rich, homemade flavor, just like Grandma used to make. If you're looking for incredible soul food that hits all the right notes, Julian's is the place to be. Don't just take my word for it--go see him for yourself, then tell somebody!

The menu is pretty straight forward. I ordered the red beans which were a little bland but came alive after I added a few things from the kitchen. I also ordered a shrimp basket which consisted of 6 shrimp that were pretty tasty and a sprinkle of fries. Overall this was decent but a bit overpriced for what's offered.

Dear Owner: Today I…read morehad the unpleasant experience of eating a Poboy at your trailer at Trader's Village. While the quality (I did not taste love at every bite) evidenced by a soggy, nondescript roll, loaded with semi-wilted lettuce and unripe tomatoes topped with a handful (I'll get to that in a minute) of shrimp, accompanied by soggy, outright nasty fries (I could not bear but eat only very few), I was abhorred by the fact the the two teenagers 'working' the kitchen (when they were not busy chatting while there were customers waiting) did NOT WEAR FOODGRADE GLOVES while placing one shrimp at a time on the 'po'boy' while the young 'cook', busy listening to music on his earpods, shoveled the fries with his bare hands into the Styrofoam container. Later I witness the same 'cook' riding his skateboard around your trailer, presumably something he had done even before preparing my meal. I did not witness any running water or other means of cleaning or sanitizing hands. In closing, I am considering myself lucky but apparently having a strong stomach as I have not gotten sick yet. Either way, your food handling procedures and poorly trained staff are outright appaling. Oh, and before I forget, to charge $ 12 for this was outright insulting. Sincerely, Ingo (you can see my name in your daily receipts since I paid with my Amex).
