These two locations are not to be confused with the other Pizza x Two locations located in Long Beach as they aren't operated by the same owners. Avila's Pizza is family owned and operated and I love to see how they continue to thrive within our local communities after all these years. My childhood consisted of family gatherings accompanied by a few fresh pies from Avila's. My family and I typically go to their Anaheim St. location as it's closer to my grandparents' house. However, I've visited their Lakewood location a handful of times and have been met with the same quality and consistency as their other store. On my most recent visit a few days ago, I decided to try something new and opted for their special pizza which is quite similar to a deluxe. To be blunt, skip any pizza's here with veggies because they aren't baked into the pizza and are served practically raw. However, all their other pizzas are nothing short of phenomenal. I HIGHLY recommend their classic pepperoni, their bacon pizza and their pepperoni and jalapeño. The breadsticks paired with marinara are also delicious. Avila's offers various carry-out and delivery specials. Their pizza runs more on the affordable side although the prices have slightly spiked over the years undoubtedly due to economic circumstances. Both locations serve more as grab n' go establishments due to a lack of seating and space. I've never had an issue with service at either locations, in fact, my family is very well received at the Anaheim location as we have been regulars throughout the years. I absolutely recommend Avila's Pizza and Avila's Pizza X Two to anyone! Support your local businesses! :)

Today, we…read morewere craving pizza by the slice, and our usual spot was closed, so I decided to give them another try. We ordered four slices of pizza. Each slice is $3.75, or you can get two slices for $7.50 plus tax, so there's really no discount. I paid cash and noticed I was charged $7.99 for two slices instead of the advertised $7.50. I pointed it out to the man who took my order, but he insisted I wasn't overcharged. I even showed him the menu and the payment screen, where you could clearly see the discrepancy (see photos), but he was dismissive and said the register never makes mistakes. I had a long day at work and wasn't about to argue over less than a dollar. Still, it's the principle. Charging customers more than the posted price and refusing to acknowledge it is not okay. It made my experience very disappointing. As for the food, we ordered two pepperoni slices, one pepperoni and mushroom, and one ham and pineapple. The toppings were good, but this is definitely not New York-style pizza. The crust was overcooked and so dry that it was close to tasting like cardboard. I wouldn't recommend this place. If you do decide to eat here, pay close attention to the price you're charged and ask for a receipt.

A very disappointing experience and unfortunate. Service: The worst. The people that work there are very rude and they don't care at all. We had paid extra for a different crust and they made the pizzas thin crust. We showed them the online confirmation with the details and they just said it's a glitch in the system. They wouldn't make us new pizzas or refund us for the extra we paid for the different crust. They essentially said take it as is or leave and didn't care at all. Despite the pizza be good, I don't think I'd come back given what happened. Food: The chutney pizza was good. It was a unique style pizza and was the right amount of spicy. It is a Jain pizza which is a bonus as it's a great option for Jain people. The Thai Chili pizza was okay. I expected it to be spicier or as spicy as the Chutney pizza but it wasn't even closed. It felt more like a basic pizza with tomatoes and onions. It's okay but nothing different. Ambiance: It's a to go place, not a sit down place.

I ordered by phone and service was friendly and I was given 15-20 mins for a pick up time. The pizza definitely doesn't top my favorite spots. The crust was good, but the pizza itself was so greasy and there just wasn't enough sauce. I may be back to try their gourmet pizzas, but I'll definitely skip this spot when in the mood for a pepperoni pizza.

The food is amazing every time -- fresh, consistent, and always hits the spot. You can tell they care about quality and their customers. The place itself is on the smaller side, so it's not really somewhere I'd plan to dine in unless you're solo or just stopping by for a quick bite. But they usually have games on while you're waiting, which is a nice touch. Overall, great pizza, great people, and a spot I'll keep coming back to every week.

I ordered an 8 piece pepperoni Detroit style pizza, but unfortunately it was a big disappointment. This pizza was nothing like the one from the other location. The bread was way too thick, and there was noticeably less cheese and marinara on top. The worst part was that the pizza was burnt; not just slightly charred on the edges, but really burnt. Even the pepperoni was burnt, which completely ruined the flavor. I picked up the order through Uber Eats since I was using a gifted voucher, and the box was sealed, so I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home. I didn't have the energy to drive back and complain, so I reported it through Uber and thankfully received a full refund. The only reason I'm giving this place two stars instead of one is because the staff was kind. However, serving burnt pizza is unacceptable. I would've much preferred being told the pizza was burnt and given the option to wait for a fresh one. I wouldn't have minded at all. Unfortunately, this experience makes me hesitant to return to this location.
