While we had a positive view of the teaching staff, the front office and administration operate with a "profit-over-students" mentality that is deeply unprofessional. Following our withdrawal, the school has intentionally withheld my son's academic progress reports and evaluations to use as collateral for a billing dispute. They are attempting to charge for tuition during a month in which my child did not attend a single day and are using his records to hold his future education hostage. Beyond the billing issues, I find the Parent Handbook rules to be overreaching and abusive. Most alarmingly, the handbook explicitly states that they can change any rule at any time without notice, leaving families with zero stability or protection. This level of obstruction has forced us to involve the Florida Department of Education and Step Up For Students compliance offices. If you want a school that values its families and acts with integrity during difficult transitions, look elsewhere. This is not a supportive or transparent educational environment.

Since the first time we visited this place, we noticed how happy kids there were. Then when our son started, it was just great to see him with a big smile at the end of the day - to the point that he usually wanted to stayed at school past his pick up time. As if that wasn't enough, it was just awesome to see our son singing at home in multiple languages and teaching his little sister different words in the other languages he had learned at BB. There are not enough words to describe how great this school is. We are greatful our son had opportunity to attend Building Brains, the instruction, attention, guidance, and compassion that our son has received at BB has been amazing and undoubtedly effective.

I went there first thing Monday morning to let the school know regarding both of my kids being sick with bilateral ear infection, RSV pneumonia with superimposed OC43 (COVID) infection, and due to illnesses were admitted to the hospital. Rather then expressing empathy his only concern was not to refund the money for the week, according to him all COVID mandates have been lifted and patient doesn't qualify for refund even if they were sick enough to be admitted to the hospital. Me being a physician I would never want to expose other children to any illness, but it seems like Brian doesn't have any ethical duty towards any of the kids there as long his weekly payments are collected. My first thought was let the kids get better and have them return but after this experience with "Mr. Dooshbag Brian" I've decided to not have kids stay enrolled. Pardon my language but I couldn't come up with better terminology to describe the owner and my experience.

This school has been a consistent source of stress and disappointment. From the start, the…read moreadmissions process was disorganized, and the admissions representative seemed more focused on maintaining an attitude than actually doing her job. Staff like Ms. Grace frequently boast about their experience with students with disabilities, yet fail to deliver even basic support likely due to being stretched too thin across too many roles. I've had to withdraw seven students due to unprofessional, underqualified teachers and a disturbing lack of support, especially for those with special needs. In one unacceptable instance, a teacher openly referred to a student as a "trouble child" -- a label no professional educator should ever use. Student belongings were also confiscated and absurdly labeled as "public property," raising serious concerns about boundaries and respect. The Dean, despite claiming to be a parent of children with autism, shows a surprising lack of knowledge around accommodations, and the principal seems more concerned with snacking on Goldfish crackers than addressing the serious, ongoing issues in the school. Overall, this environment is not only unfit for children with disabilities, but it struggles to support any student effectively. During the withdrawal process staff were unable to locate my child's inhaler, not even the school nurse, who seemed more preoccupied with giving attitude than paying attention to where lifesaving medication was stored. Several people had to be called just to locate it, and my nephew's inhaler was never returned at all. When a child has asthma, knowing exactly where their inhaler is can mean the difference between safety and a medical emergency... that should be common sense!

Some play places like this that we've been to are a bit overwhelming with neon paint and crazy loud music (not to mention just having lots of kids in one place can add to that), but here it is very tastefully decorated, with each area having a designated theme. They do have lunch items available, but I would very much suggest bringing lunch from home since the selection is pretty limited to frozen sandwiches and snack items. If you're there on a day pass, you cannot re-enter, so leaving for lunch isn't an option if you'd like to spend the rest of the time there. There are a variety of different areas to play such as the train table and vehicle area, doll and doll houses, a trampoline, musical instruments, animals and farms, a kitchen and house, shopping area, and a baby and toddler area. I think a dress up section would be a great addition to all the fun. One thing that was a bit of a drawback is that there isn't a private place for nursing mothers. Everything is very open, and it would make me a bit uncomfortable if I had a infant needing to breastfeed. Also, only one of the bathrooms had a changing table in it, but it wasn't busy so there wasn't a wait to get into that one or anything. Overall, we had a great day, and we will definitely be back.
