It's a cute little store for the casual shopper but not if you're looking for something specific. Most of the books I opened were not priced, which can be annoying and also deter sales. Inside they also have soap, jewelry, and other pretty things merchandised. There is a public restroom on the 2nd floor. Service was pleasant and welcoming. read more

Lady was too cold. My mom wanted to use a credit card chip but only accept tap. Also my niece and brother wanted to get glitter dumplings and when we paid and were leaving, she asked where the dumpling display was. And it was literally in the box with the unopened dumplings. I told her she was rude and why would she assume the kids took it. She just had to look in the box and it was right there. Glad the kids got their glitter dumplings but never buying there again. read more

First time visiting this place recently and I already can't wait to go back. So many books and so little time! The selection was great. I picked up everything from historical fiction to murder mystery to true life and more. I think next time I'll try and find a chair because there are lots of titles to look thru and my knees just can't take the time needed to peruse. ;) As for the negative comments posted here.... they are all suspiciously lacking in basic grammar and punctuation. The exact same misspelled words, exact same lack of capitalization, no periods to end simple sentences, etc. It isn't hard to see that the same person wrote them. Perhaps losing oneself in a good story/ book would be a better decision than spending your life online proving to society that after the 3rd grade you never bothered to master grammar. read more

This place is so cute, I loved going here and I've been back a few times. The book selection isn't the absolute best but I've gotten a few good books from here. The price is pretty reasonable for used books. I honestly can't complain about it. Plus I will add they have incense which is awesome and I've gotten a few from here, the brand is amazing. This little store is a treasure trove of books. . .every type you can imagine, and the prices are excellent! The store owner is very accommodating and helpful, always willing to help you look for a book. I was looking for a specific title, and she immediately showed me where books by that specific author were, and even helped me find the book. I live out of state, but go to this book store every time I'm in town. read more

I was just in this bookstore earlier today and it was awesome! I've been in Lancaster from out of town visiting my boyfriend and I heard about this place on Facebook, and I knew I had to go! I know a lot of people complained about the clutter, but I have books stacked in my bedroom at home so it felt really familiar to me! This store is completely unorganized and is in a constant state of being a hot mess. Lots of sections blocked off with signs saying DO NOT TOUCH! My biggest pet peeve that prevents me from buying much from this bookstore is that they put a label with the store's info on the first page of every book. WHY? The label cannot be removed and ruins the books. Why not put the label on the front or back cover so it can be removed? New books are overpriced and you can't use trade credit on them at all. And on the used books that you can use trade credit, you can only apply trade credit to pay for 1/2 of the price of the book. Also, the owner of this bookstore has RAIDED library sales, even on days when "no dealers" are allowed. And then has the audacity to pitch her bookstore while people stand there in shock by the greediness of her stockpiling books. read more

Okay this place is so dang cute! They have a book for literally everyone and the atmosphere is so cozy. The only other thing they need is an attached coffee shop! (but I'm sure they wouldn't be able to get me to leave if that were the case). When you first walk in, the yummy scent of movie theatre popcorn hits you and then you see all the amazing books ( and amazing prices), it's just heavenly. This place is a cluttered nightmare. There are areas where you can't shop, much less get through. How the Fire Marshall allowed this I don't know! The selection in general seems lacking. Unless you're into Romance novels, there really is little else to select from and the remaining selection is rather lackluster at best. Plus the shop seems to have an identity crisis. Is it a bookstore? A plant store? A new age store? A general gift shop? It's ridiculous. Plus, the woman "working" there when we went in was far too busy sitting, ignoring customers, and scrolling on her phone to answer any questions. I'm not sure if it was the owner or an employee but she was rude nevertheless. I left with a bad taste in my mouth. There are other used bookstores a little further away in the Santa Clarita and San Fernando Valleys that I know have a better selection, a friendlier staff, AND better organizational skills. I don't want to have to wade through boxes of DO NOT TOUCH, tables of overpriced rocks, and other such nonsense to try to buy some books. read more

Was greeted nicely by two men (don't know if their the owners) i wanted to get some crystals but initially went in to see the plants, thought they might be selling them since their on display in the windows and throughout the store. I asked the lady in the back (probably the owner) if they were selling them she was rude and told me "no those are ours go to Lowe's" ?? Didn't even buy the crystals, i was trying to support a small business but not today. Here's a tip add a sign next to the plants on display and around the store that they are not for sale so people won't have to deal with your attitude :) won't be back read more

Haven't seen any books worth buying in this place. Trashy romance books dominate the stalls. Saw some Shakespeare, and they are overpriced. Boxes litter the floor and areas cordoned off. Is it a used bookstore or a wanna be boutique shop? Been in this place three times and came out empty handed each time. Not worth checking out unless you like romance books. read more

Lil' Book Bug has easily become my favorite store on the BLVD and in Lancaster, providing a very down to earth bookstore experience. Every week they have new authors and titles coming in too. If I could give this place zero stars I would. I contacted the bookstore to drop off many of my sellers, anthologies, book series all of in excellent condition. When I showed up, the owner Rochelle came out and instead of helping me unload the books from the trunk of my car, stood there and started judging my books. I helped her carry a few bags in and she told me many of my books weren't good enough. I politely stated that if she didn't want my books I would gladly donate them where they are welcomed. With a passive aggressive tone she told me nobody would want my books. She walked away and took a call totally aloof. I asked for a moment of her time to express express my self. She refused to listen. Instead she interrupted me constantly, and tried to gaslight me. She told me she was fine and I was the one with the problem. I refused to let her unload her negative attitude on me. Since she continued to talk over me, I simply stated the truth, she is a rude and ungrateful person. I contacted the friends of the library. They were grateful for my books, and mentioned that my books were in great condition and worthy of being sold to raise funds for the library. I spoke to them about Rochelle and they disclosed she purchases books from the Lancaster library to sell in her store. This validated that my books were wanted elsewhere, so Rochelle was just being a jerk. In a nutshell, Rochelle wouldn't know a good book if it looked her in the face. She comes off as stuck up, like she's the queen of the used bookstore business and it's all an act. She tried to put me down and was totally neurotic and judgmental of my kind act. I think that says a lot about her personality. I would not recommend this bookstore, on top of all this it sells lame romance novels. It doesn't sell classics, must-reads or anything intellectual. It's all a front just like the owner's terrible and ungrateful attitude. Donate your books to the library and save yourself a terrible experience with this ignorant lady. read more

I love this little corner. I have found a book here and there, but I mostly go just to browse. Being an avid reader, I just enjoy browsing small bookstores. This particular bookstore also sells many artisanal products and forms of art. I have read some of the other reviews and am so glad I have yet to come across the "rude owner". At this point, I'm not even sure who the owner is, as I have seen different individuals each time I go in. Maybe there's a new owner now, as I haven't overheard anyone degrading employees. That I do not stand for and will not return on principle! Business owners must understand that they are in the public eye and it is imperative they treat their employees well. I have been to the Palmdale Li'l Book Bug store many times and was super excited to hear about the new location. There are books everywhere you look! It's a really cool place to find all sorts of books and they even have some gifts that you can purchase. The owner and the staff are some of the most friendly people you could ever meet, offering suggestions of different books to read, to letting me know which movie I should check out at the movie theater in the building. The owner Rosechel is also very knowledgeable about romance novels and even shared some stories about authors she had met at various book conventions. Overall this is a great place to find a good book and relax, maybe even watch a movie or two! read more

I bought a book was asked if i want a reciept i said no.I came back 3 days later to get an exchange or refund cause the book wasnt what i was wanting.I had read only 2 chapters.I was told No Refunds or Exchanges with the lady behind the counter treating me very rude.She said its on your receipt.So i just gave them the book for it wasnt the right one for me.My complaint is i would have liked to have been told this at check out for this was my first and last time to shop here.And i didn't like being treated like a criminal on my return visit. read more
