What a charming place. Jim and Jill were super hosts. The place is rustic and quiet. Exactly what we were looking for! Sure you can stay at a commercial hotel down the road, but you'll miss all the woodsy charm of a place like this. The rooms are small, but they're clean and fully functional! Not sure need much more. We certainly found all we needed here! Nashville IN is a charming community with lots of outdoor activities and a thriving arts community too. Plus our hosts know the area very well and can suggest things to see and places to go. The breakfast was delish and customized to our desires too. Everything was fresh, fast, and served with a smile! Stayed for our anniversary and had a great time! Jim is a great guy and you can tell him and his wife love running their bed and breakfast. Very old school, small town place. This place is THE best. We were met at the car, greeted with a friendly "Thought you'd never get here"! Sounded like old friends greeting us upon our arrival. Jim is just "something else"! You MUST have a sense of humor when you go there! The place is so nice, clean, friendly atmosphere. And...the breakfast...O M G! We had the best meal. I don't know what Jill did to those eggs, but now hubby is spoiled! lol. Anyway, it was a wonderful experience, and we will be back. Are you looking for a nice quiet time away from "real life"? This is the spot for you! You are super close to downtown Brown county for all the shops , your less than 30 mins from Columbus for more food options but still away from it all. The innkeepers are extremely respectful of your space!! Bedroom was clearly well taken care of. We had a ground floor room, private side entrance, door lock and lots of parking. Our room was very clean, like cleaner than I keep my own house! Bed was very soft, but not too soft. Both hubby and I slept great both nights we were there. The innkeepers are available via phone or text. I added a few surprises for my hubby while there-- preordered chocolate covered strawberries and added totally last minute a s'mores kit. Jim was nice enough to run and grab those supplies, make us some sticks for the fire and had good fire starter stuff ready to go. Meanwhile we didn't have to go to the store to get this stuff or make any special trips into town setting. With covid we had breakfast in our room. You don't want to sleep through this... homemade meal that clearly is made by someone who knows what they are doing. Chickens on property supply very good tasting breakfast!! These innkeepers know how to make you feel welcome and just unwind. Highly recommend to come and check it out. We were there August 2020. Weather was not too hot and there was no rain. read more

Even before we got to lil black bear we were made to feel comfortable, from the first time I called to the panic call I made when were lost only to find out we were right down the road! Jim met us out front and gave us the tour, he made us feel like we were coming to see old friends! We met Jill shortly after and they both made us feel so welcomed! It was the 6th day of traveling on our Honeymoon and it was amazing!!! Our room was so romantic, we had a picnic lunch ( In our room, due to rain) we had a delicious heart cake made for us in the room ( part of the specials they offer) the bed was so comfortable! And set up so beautifully. The fire place and whirlpool tub just added to the ambience. Our room had a private patio which also was so special. Breakfast the next morning was so hearty and delicious! A wonderful way to start the day! 5 stars doesn't seem like enough! We will definitely return to this beauty in the woods! read more
