Some of the art appealed to me and other works not so much. It is a fun browse and the gallery lets you walk around unfettered. The pricing is consistent with the pricing of the homes so this is not a place to obtain your trinket from your Aspen visit. However, if you are looking for upscale real art, this is one venue.

As a local who also works at a well respected establishment in town, I was extremely disappointed to experience such shocking treatment for merely using the public sidewalk to answer a simple phone call in an extremely quiet and personal manner nearby the store. I've never been spoken to in a such a way. We need to do better to support one another--I will never endorse a business with such blatant and clearly, somehow acceptable, treatment towards kind and well-meaning folks on their end. Not okay under any circumstances, and certainly no way to handle an honest misunderstanding which could have been easily resolved with a simple and polite request.

Pick the ones you like, remember the number or point and you have shirts for you and your friends. I picked two up but they were out of size L on one of the shirts so I got the XL and boy do they run WIDE. Too big for my gentleman friend so I will just have to wear it to bed or wait until I have a wider gentleman friend... just kidding. T-shirts for everyone here, kids too! That was through a college roommate who's something of a collector. So I probably had a little cred with George who took the time to talk to me about poster art and got me interested. I bought from him and then from others. He's not everyone's favorite shopkeeper and it's true he can be cranky and dismissive of just about anybody. He's also not interested in other than full prices (although we did negotiate a discount when I bought several at one time). He's opinionated, doesn't care if you don't like him and yet the gallery is in his blood which is why, I think, that he keeps talking about closing it down and then doesn't. But after ten years of reading, buying and putting together a little collection one thing is very clear to me: Those who review the Omnibus and attack the collection itself don't know what they're talking about. The best place for poster art and auctions in New York is Jack Rennert's gallery. In Boston it's Jim Lapides's International Poster Gallery. Those guys know George and his collection and they admire both his discernment and its breadth and depth. They both smile wryly about dealing with George. They both would instantly say that the collection is the best in the country. So, I don't give the Omnibus a perfect rating as a business because it's messy, haphazard in pricing, disordered and has an altogether eccentric owner. But the collection itself is powerful, utterly authentic and deserving of an unlimited number of stars. Those who've said otherwise either allowed their dislike for George to color their judgement or they have none.

The Aspen Art Gallery represents some interesting artists and has a variety of original works. I…read morewas impressed with some of the use of acrylics and glazing that really made some of the colors pop in certain works. The staff was helpful and willing to show the art under different lighting. They do not allow for photos of the art which is a little old school and makes it difficult to show to a spouse or significant other who may be involved in the purchase decision but that is certainly their prerogative. The ceramic French bulldogs are a very cool option if you are not looking for canvas.
