I just discovered the "review" from a Michael G., which was written on 4/4/2022, five years after I retired, and 10 years after I sold the school. I have no idea who Michael G. is, or why he chose to slander me with lies. When I was teaching, I always emphasized the importance of honesty and integrity. I'm reasonably certain he was never a student when I was teaching. In any case, the school had gone out of business months before he wrote this "review". I sincerely hope he recovers from whatever trauma has caused him to express such hate.

Their instructor was friendly, and full of energy as was everyone in the class... Just how you'd expect the ymca to be. Their actual workout areas were spacious, but the cardio machines were pretty close to one another. I came on a weekday morning over the summer and it was pretty dead, but the early evening was pretty busy. The front desk was familiar with allowing out of state guests entry so that was nice.

Recently started again, but it's frustrating because they don't open on time. I was there 25 mins after their posted opening time, & people were waiting for the employee to show up and unlock the door. I asked one guy who was waiting what time they usually open. He said, "It varies because they're always late." He was smoking, by the way, so it wasn't comfortable to wait in the little bit of shade by the front door. A month or so ago I went by about 15 mins after they were supposed to open. I waited about 10-15 mins and no one showed up. Very unprofessional. I wrote the management a complaint. They never responded.

In addition to yoga, they offer belly dancing, tai chi, pilates and have added a men's basketball league. You do need a $5 annual membership to take classes or use the gym... The staff is awesome! This is such a supportive, positive, inclusive yoga community…read more I found them several years ago when I was in need of healing and their Exhale classes were the perfect remedy; part Restoratve Yoga, part Yin Yoga and some Yoga Nidra. These are the classes I attend, and they have them most every day. They also have flow and the 'flying yoga ' with the silks hung from the ceiling...really a trip!! So something for everyone. Teachers are knowledgeable, cheerful and generous. Addition of Hybrid classes ( students at the studio properly social distanced and zoom participants) is a great option in Covid times. I now live too far to attend in person and love being able to attend via the miracle of technology. This is a great place to begin a practice or continue your journey!

I used to run a bit, but with the expanded summers in AZ now starting in March and continuing through November, running is unreliable because it is too hot outside! As a child I took Karate, and then briefly again in my 20s, now as a 40 year old I was looking for a way to get a higher level of activity and found the folks at World Martial Arts Academy. I took advantage of the free class offered through their website (just email them, their response is rapid) and was welcomed to the class. It was an excellent work out and was focused on training for health and performance, exactly what I was looking for in a martial art. I have taken classes from Jason, he is excellent. He has shown a willingness to work with people both individually and as a full class, using both patience and humor to demonstrate correct forms, steps, and technique.

I'm so glad I chose AYP. Cindy is incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to help. Any time I have a question, she has a clear answer, and her on-the-spot guidance is invaluable. When she assists or adjusts me--especially in poses I've been hesitant about--I feel completely supported and safe. Highly recommend for anyone serious about their Ashtanga practice.

I tried a few studio yoga classes here and there, but I found them crowded, and a bit intimidating. I reached a point where I felt like my practice was stuck, and gym yoga wasn't enough anymore, I tried AYP, simply because it was nearby. I truly lucked out! From the moment you walk in the door, you feel welcome, and part of a family. The classes have plenty of breathing room, yet still intimate. Instruction is given with care, and particular to each student. Everyone feels like a peer, regardless of experience, and the environment is very nuturing. I'm so glad I chose to break out of my routine, and discover such a gem.
